It was 45$ for 5 beers. 5 beers. Don’t waste your time. Just buy a case at the store and stay home

Great place to drink beer and play board games.

The sooner Black Acre gets Zionsville Corvus to become reality the better for Black Acre and it’s business success. I think Corvus will go over quite well with the Zionsville community.

Picture doesn't do the brews justice but off the bat; the Quicken (Scottish Ale) & Saucy Intruder (Rye IPA) delicious. Both have very unique flavors. Will be taking home a 4pk of the Rye. The Bourbon Barrel Age brew is oddly very light yet good.

I'm embarrassed to admit that it has taken me years to finally visit Black Acre Brewing with the very minor exception that I did actually wheel into Black Acre once briefly simply to check it out. I'm weird like that. Even if you know me, you may not know that Irvington is very likely my favorite neighborhood in Indy. It combines nearly everything I love - history, humor, horror, eclectic housing, a relatively small but substantial business district, and a casual attitude that nearly always makes me smile. While Black Acre could easily exist anywhere in the city, it feels right at home right here in Irvington. A small batch brewer that first opened up 10 years ago (in 2012), Black Acre Brewing actually has four locations, though I'd likely consider this its home spot - there's the Black Acre Garden, of course, along with a downtown loft and a Zionsville spot. The Black Acre Garden is also located in Irvington. Black Acre Brewing, actually called the Irvington Taproom, is located in a strip center right along East Washington Street in the same building as Jockamo, Lincoln Square, The Med, J. Dant, and others. It's open seven days a week and nearly every time I've been by, including tonight, there's been a pretty decent crowd. Black Acre started as a 3-barrel brew system right in Irvington. The demand grew and after several years of trying to keep up they finally transitioned into a 15-barrel brew system that is now located offsite. This has greatly expanded their opportunities including multiple sites, draught, cans, and new territories. You can find Black Acre in Indiana, Kentucky, Europe, and even via a mail system (Tavour). They also are known to do special events in Illinois and Ohio. Accessibility here isn't the greatest, though it is doable. Employees are friendly and the beer options are quite nice. I'm particularly fond of the Chai Guy Milk Stout, one of several regulars that will show up as a selection. The atmosphere is industrial yet not in a distant or cold sense. It's all rather intimate and actually, once again, fits in quite nicely in Irvington. I've always found people in Irvington friendly or rather my kind of friendly which involves friendly with a bit of an edge and a bit of a weirdo included in the psychological tapestry. If you know me, you know this describes me. I'm honestly embarrassed that it took me so long to get here. I will admit that as much as I love Irvington, it's an older community with some accessibility issues. As my health gets a little more challenging, that limits me a bit more in terms of where I go and when I go alone. That said, there's no doubt I'll be back and I'll hopefully have time to hang out for a longer period of time. This is a great little strip to visit with a couple solid dining options, a great gift shop, and even Irvington Wellness Center down the block. There's always some artsy stuff going on across the street, as well. While Irvington may not have the reputation of some neighborhoods, for me it's a gem and Black Acre is an important part of it.

It was fine. A little too sleek and modern for my taste. It's a brewery; lighten up?

While I'm not THAT into beer, this place is a nice treat. On the main street of historic Irvington it offers more than just beer. When walking in it's one of those places with a total vibe. I went yesterday around 7:30 to meet a few friends and the lighting is inviting, the decor is supurb and the music playing puts you in a "its a vibe" kinda mood. While nobody greeted us upon entering, it still felt very inviting. I walked up to the bar to order that the bartender wasn't the nicest, even slightly inpatient but it was the only one there handling the entire place, so I totally get it. I mentioned it was my first time in years and asked what he recommended (something I always ask when I go to new places) and he rattled out a couple of things one of which was an Old Fashion. Oh I forgot to mention even though they are a brewery, they do have a handful of cocktails on the menu which is great for someone that isn't into beer like me. Back to the vibe, as I was saying, the crowd was super chill. It was pretty full yet it didn't feel like a loud bar, everyone was talking at a decent tone so it wasn't super annoying. They have large tables that seat up to like 8 and then booths and then smaller tables, and couches and chairs. I love that there is that variety. We had 6 and were able to all sit comfortably and could actually hear each other so that again tells you that the environment is super chill. My cocktail was decent. A little sweet for my liking but I typically drink my drinks straight so that's my fault. I did order another shot to put into my old fashion which helped curb some of that sweetness. One of the girls I was with also ordered the old fashion and she doesn't like whiskey and she thought it was perfect. So she's on the complete opposite extreme so if you like sweeter drinks you will love it. One thing of note is the art. I love love love the art they have around the place. I even inquired as to who the artist is, he is local I found out so I'll be reaching out to him for sure for art work for my home. Anyway, good place to go for sure. Parking is free (YAY) and there is plenty of it. I was lucky enough to find a spot right in front but if you don't they also have a back parking lot.

Another one of Irvingtons gems. Tap room is very nice and well decorated. Most people don't know this but they serve more than beer here. There's a large assortment of cocktails and wine to choose from as well. The tap room had a fire last year and recently reopened. At the time of writing this review their kitchen is still not open so most of us Irvington locals will call in pizza from Jackamos next door and eat it in the tap room while we enjoy our beers. While all of their beers are great, I am a massive fan of their Mexican Dunkel "Rancho Relaxo".

Each time I have patronized this establishment I and/or we have been met with a friendly staff and great beverages. Most recently I brought friend whom had never been in Black Acre. We had a great time.Upon leaving we went a couple of doors down to Jackamos Pizza and had dinner.

Nice tap room. Good staff and patrons. A really large selection of beers of all types. Some of them have been entered into some kind of beer type contest/olympics and won. Bartender was super friendly, always smiling, and very personable. A couple of regulars at the bar were chatty and not standoffish. A nice neighborhood hang.

This place is my go to stop for the best craft beer in Indianapolis. If you are trying to choose between Black Acre and anything else within a 10 mile radius, just close this page and head to Irvington. If the weather is fair, you might even ask once you get to the tap room for directions to their Beer Garden that's only a few blocks away.No close the browser and I'll see you there.
