Great service, great food. Has an outdoor patio, but take care, their outdoor tables wobble a bit, it spilled my coffee a little when it was full. Staff helped clean it up right away, though. Their Eggs Benedict is very good, hollandaise sauce isn't overly potent.
Fairly standard breakfast fare plus lunch options. Very spacious for larger groups inside and outside.
This was our first time here and...we will definitely be back!
We were five adults and one three year old at a table, seated at around 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. No problem, not a crowd, and a very attentive waitress. The food was fine, every visible part of the kitchen was clean and kept that way, and The Price was Right for every generous portion. The manager was constantly walking around pouring coffee and asking customers about the quality of their service. My one downgrade is the size of the bathrooms. One person occupancy for each gender in a seating capacity of at least 50 people is ridiculous and building code should have caught this before the Place initially opened.
Not great. I ordered the chocolate chip crepes with a side of sausage patties. The crepes were gross, not like a normal crepe. They were dark and over cooked and smelled like play dough. The sausage patties were cold and I only got 2 for 3.99. I had to constantly fan flies away from my food. Waitress only came by twice, one to bring me my food and the second time to give me my check, no refills or anything. The place was also almost 100% empty. I see why. I won't be back.
Food was great, service was great, but awful manager. Horror story inbound.
The Loaded Croissant with the hash browns are my favorite. I just ordered it again, this time to-go. Very friendly staff. It was ready, hot and fresh when I walked in. The price isn’t too bad, you get plenty of food with every order.
Its awesome!! You get so much food for your money and the food is great. With GREAT SERVER'S
The food here was lukewarm and kind of gross. For as expensive as it was I was disappointed. My friend, her children and I went for lunch. The kids ordered pancakes and we ordered wraps. The French fries were barely warm and had no seasoning. Instead of having fresh lettuce and tomatoes in the wraps bagged salad seemed to have been poured over the protein in the wraps. The salad was unappealing lettuce served with one cucumber and tomato slice.
The food is incredible and the people are so nice and friendly. Very good service. I have never had a bad meal there.

Food, atmosphere and service were very good. Will definitely return.
I gave one star because there is no option for zero. First I walk in and just stood while two young ladies at the cashier area did busy work to seemingly ignore me. I asked for a menu and said Id like to place a to go order she just pointed to the back. Secondly I get to the back and nobody acknowledges me for at least a few minutes (sigh) The lady that took my order was nice. Lastly I leave and drive less than 3min away to find very unsatisfying food...cold eggs...chewy pancakes...unseasoned potatoes Wont return
Enjoyed our visit to this breakfast/lunch location. We choose omelettes - veggie & Western. Eggs were cooked well done (my husband’s preference) but still tasty to my palate. Pancakes had a sweet (almost cake-like) flavor & were fluffy. Great for all pancake lovers out there. The menu was extensive. Some options I’d like to try for lunch. Will be back. Good local option.
The food was good and reasonably priced, but we were seated at the table directly behind station where you wait to be seated, where the hostess greets you and takes you to your seat. Every time the front door opened, a blast of air blew right across us, plus there was a ventilation duct opening almost directly above our table and when it came on it was chilly. I imagine when it's cold out and the heat is on anyone underneath is cooked. I should have asked to be moved to a different table. There were plenty of open tables too.
Unfortunately this place wasn’t for me. Hour wait on our breakfast, but it wasn’t due to lack of staff. There were more employees than occupied tables (I counted). I got the eggs Benedict, as I do everywhere I go, and it was the first time I couldn’t even eat them. Lacked on all levels. My daughter’s pancakes looked decent enough. 2 stars cause at least the employees were nice enough.
I’ll start this by saying the food was really great. However, we will probably never return due to the total lack of professionalism and customer service displayed by the staff. We called ahead to ask how long the wait was and were told our name was put on the list and a table would be ready upon our arrival. Once we walked in the store, the host staff had no record of our call and we were placed at the bottom of the wait list. We confirmed I had in fact called their phone number. We finally got a table but then waited longer to place drink orders due to understaffing. Our meals did not come out with correct sides. But the real issue was the waitress had no record of our order at the end when we tried to pay the bill. She asked us to get our calculator out as she made up random charges for our bill and applied a 10% sales tax. Completely ridiculous. We will not be back.
One the best places in Lawrence until today (Father's day). We are regulars- every Sunday but not anymore. I'm not sure what happened but the ball was definitely dropped today and all levels. We actually left because we didn't have our food and it was over an hour. Waitress wasn't sure when we would get our food. The waitress told us what was going with the order tickets and staffing (no really first come first serve with tickets and understaffed). However, I did watch a some workers talking & wrapping silverware, touching all over the silverware and scratching her neck and constantly touch her face. That was enough for us.
Happy Father’s Day ♀️
Pancakes are great. Always nice and clean. Also like the skillets. Sausage gravy isn't that great though.
No offense to the new server because it seems as if she was never trained. Me & my co-worker came here on our lunch break excited to try a new place. As soon as we ordered it already seemed like our server had no clue about the menu & food. I had asked what all comes on the side salad & the answer I got was "it's just a normal side salad", so I expected at LEAST cheese, tomato, & croutons. We were brought lettuce soaked in water with nothing but a ranch packet. The bun was way bigger then the burger & when my co-worker asked for A1. She was brought a super runny & watered looking sauce. We DEFINITELY will not be back.
Great fine and worth the stop for Breakfast. Vast menu and great service. Always had very good coffee. May have a regular Friday morning visitor here.
Place has great food! We love coming to eat breakfast and can usually eat off of the skillet for 2 days when we share it, the servings are big! Only thing we think needs to be improved is when we try to call in an order they can never hear/understand us and we end up getting passed around on the phone a few times before we get the order placed. Also the website doesn't work so we can't even try to place an order online Otherwise we love it here!
Amazing spot for some great comfort food! They have a wide variety of meal items and all are fresh and have a home cooked feel! My boyfriend and I love it here! It can get a little busy on Sundays so be prepared!
This is my favorite place to have breakfast. Waitresses are very friendly and service is great. Even when it is crowed you get you food right away. You get a lot of food and the prices are very reasonable.
Delicious, clean, and friendly. Only thing I have to say is when ordering to go biscuits and gravy is to package it separately. My B's and G's were a bit soggy when I got home. Still good but not as good as it could have been.
I love this place. It offers a great value for your meals. Nothing is expensive and I always end up with enough food to take some home for later. Plus it's all delicious.
Went on a Saturday and was busy but was still able to get everything at a reasonable time. The food was great and will definitely be coming again for more.
Hotcakes has earned a solid spot on our breakfast rotation. The food is always good and service has always been top notch. I'm usually a bacon, over easy eggs, rye toast and grits guy and I haven't been disappointed at Hotcakes. Throw in fair prices and you have a winner in my book.
Loved it. We took our family of 4 adults and two toddlers. The meal was great and the service too. We will be back. 😀
Randomly back in my hometown for the morning and I've been hearing great things about this cozy breakfast spot, so I decided to give it a try. The ambiance is dim, staff upbeat and food is pretty average. Pancakes were thick and fluffy, bacon crispy & delicious, cheese eggs had a great blend of cheeses and the hot chocolate was perfect!
Stopped by on a cold day in a Indianapolis. Although they tried to seat us in a warmer booth where the sun was shining, it still was quite cold in the restaurant. Hopefully they will get the heating fixed. The food was good...I had corned beef hash and grits...both were excellent. Brought home the pancakes for later. Prices were fair, food was good, and service was decent. A good place to grab breakfast...they also have a lunch menu but We haven’t tried it yet.
This place was great. I ordered the hungry man skillet. It was absolutely perfect for me. The server was real sweet messed up the order for my friend and brought free sausage and bacon for him and didn't charge us for any of the drinks. All n all great place and good food.
Breakfast was good with the exception of the hash browns were a little greasy. But the wait staff was definitely on it pumping out food as quick as the kitchen could throw it through the window, definitely good marks for friendly service and quickness of food. All in all a good place for family or large group to eat at.
Best breakfast in this area. Much better than Lincoln Square. Food is as expected but the coffee is by far the best. Great service and friendly staff.
We love this place! No matter how busy they get, somehow they always seem to handle it gracefully. Service is always good and food is always great. I can't speak for the other locations, but the one in Oaklandon is fantastic!
Black forest cheesecake waffles... 'nuf said. Seriously tasty, treated my children well and kept the coffee flowing. Wide ranging menu will take care of your breakfast and lunch desires and at a good price to boot.
Food Is Yummy and Customer Service is Outstanding!
This was a nice in clean place to eat. Very nice staff the waiter Brooke was very nice and clean in professional looking. She made sure my coffee cup stayed full and nice in warm. Thank you Brooke
First time visit and we will be back. Visiting family and needed someplace for breakfast. Service and food were excellent.. .
This is our go to breakfast spot. The staff is so kind and understanding of our little ones too! The food is great, you will need a to go box though. In the summer, brunch on the patio is perfect for us with kids but does overlook the family leisure parking lot.
