Good food never disappoints..service was nice too, very polite and friendly. The outdoor seating was open and clean.
Me and my friend meet there every Saturday morning usually right after they open when they were opening not during this covid-19 and our breakfast is always the best The Waitresses really take care of you very friendly I miss it so much can't wait tell you open up again
Fast friendly service. Had a good breakfast reasonably priced.
I visit Hotcakes Emporium for breakfast or lunch when in the Ditch Road area and, most recently, visited the location on Pendleton Pike. I've never had a bad experience. I recommend anything from the breakfast menu or the Beef Manhattan. You will not be disappointed.
excellent service. Awesome breakfast menu, lots of variety.
The food is delicious- breakfast AND lunch! The environment has such a cozy diner feel to it - amazing and attentive staff
We have been coming here for a few years. The staff is kind and work hard to get you what you need quickly, especially since they are typically very busy. Don't let a wait scare you - we've never waited long and it's always worth the wait. The coffee here is better than I've ever had anywhere. As much as I love the place with the green mermaid logo, the coffee here puts them to shame. There's a basket at every table with a variety of plain and flavored creams, as well as sugars. Regarding the food, the French toast is always on point, as is their Canadian bacon, eggs, and according to my husband, the mush. We also recommend subbing hash browns for home fries, so good (and they let you add onions to their potato sides for an extra flavor punch!). The reason for one less star is because despite the restaurant's name, their hot cakes, aka pancakes, are not good. I've tried to love them and ordered them plain, with chocolate chips, with pecans, with fruit....they always look way better than they taste. Also, as much as my husband loves grilled tenderloin and it isn't always easy to find it grilled, it's typically very fatty here. There are sometimes coupons in the mail and there's also one in the Discover Indy booklet. However, the prices are very reasonable for as much food as you get. Check out this family run gem and be prepared to WOW those tastebuds with that coffee and French toast.
Efficient service, great food, great atmosphere. No wait to be seated
Fireeeeeee every time I go they know what I want 2x2x2 +1 pancake I love it and it's affordable
Came in for a simple carry out order for my girlfriends birthday. After eating here 25 plus times, I did not expect a problem. After seeing guests served that cam in after I did, I knew there was an issue. All I could see was servers and the kitchen bickering and the kitchen staff laughing. I gave it 4 minutes after that, still no explanation of what was going on. I have been in the biz for 26 years.... I left and didn’t even ask for my money back. Very unprofessional and I do not ever expect to return.
I don't get how this place has good reviews. The food is awful and unseasoned. Hash browns were bland. Fries were bland. Asked for over easy eggs and they were still raw, you could clearly see the clear runny fluid on the egg whites. The service was awful. The lady who took our order had to stop us mid order on every single order. One order was a bacon cheese burger with fries and she said "hold on.... a cheese burger and you want what on it?" ... bacon! With a side of fries.... "okay bacon and you want what as a side?" I won't even get into the rest of the orders, but basically it was the exact same. And I brushed it off because I understand the service industry. But it got ridiculous. We asked for silver wear and she said she'd bring them, She didn't.... but then asked us if we got silverware. Lol. When the food came, my hash browns were missing the cheese that I had to repeat 3 times for when she was taking my order... so had to get cold cheese and put it on my seasonless potatoes. I ate the country fried steak, which was okay, but everything else was left untouched. It's such a shame because this place is close to home... but I would rather drive 30+ minutes for breakfast that is actually good than ever return to this place.
Pretty good. Service is hit or miss.
Currently eating and its a delight. Server Penny was great. Served me great food and made sure my coffee was filled. The resturant is super clean and food looks good and tatse good. Must come check it out.
This is a great place family's and friends to meet up. Or maybe even a small business meeting. The food is great, and the wait staff are awesome. What impressed me the most is how open the floor plan is, but it is very quiet. I've been to many places with a similar layout and you can hear a conversation from across the room. Not here.
YUM! Awesome service and huge portions make this a new weekend staple for us. So glad to have found this gem so close to where we live! I do. Wish there had been chocolate chips IN my pancake, but I'll live. Great breakfast!
Nice breakfast place serving good breakfast food. Would definitely go again.
First time here, and the menu is what you'd expect from a breakfast place. I had an omelet with spinach and feta. It was delicious and my waitress, Kelly, was absolutely wonderful! I was able to get in, order, and eat in under half an hour, and my coffee was never more than halfway empty. Would recommend if you're looking for a quick, straightforward breakfast place.
the food was good but it was cold inside
Food was good couldn't enjoy it really cause nothing was hot just Luke warm even then cappuccino wasn't hot. The food came out so fast after we ordered so we knew it wasn't hot and fresh the people near us even said dang we all got out food at the same time. They are pre cooking this food cause its not hot. Won't be back I'll stick to blueberry hill
Ok I've been going here since they opened since new management took over food quality has gone way down so not once but twice now ordered steak and eggs steak ordered medium it was so cooked I could have used it as a hockey puck eggs were fried instead of sunny side up wont be returning
Great breakfast food, and they never let you run out of coffee! Skillets and pancakes are the go to for me and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve never had lunch there but I can definitely vouch for the breakfast. Got seated in under 5 minutes on a Sunday morning rush and only waited maybe 15 minutes on our food.
Had breakfast here lady weekend. The service was great and so was our food. We live close by and had never tried the restaurant, I'm glad we did.
Nice customer service but a bad food experience. The raisin toast was rock hard. My skillet was supposed to have over medium-ish eggs and they came out over extra well done. Sent them back and basically over easy. If a breakfast place can't get eggs right- I don't think I can trust them to do much else.
Great service, great food. Has an outdoor patio, but take care, their outdoor tables wobble a bit, it spilled my coffee a little when it was full. Staff helped clean it up right away, though. Their Eggs Benedict is very good, hollandaise sauce isn't overly potent.
Fairly standard breakfast fare plus lunch options. Very spacious for larger groups inside and outside.
We love this restaurant for breakfast. They have voted beef gravy. Their biscuits could use some work but the gravy makes up for it.
So i have come to the conclusion that I love food. Particularly home cooked food. This place is great. The food is always good, service is always friendly and it is reasonably priced. I love fried mush (don't judge me) and their home fries with onions. My wife LOVES their coffee. She says it's the best she's ever had. Her and my oldest daughter both love the French toast. Ironically we aren't very fond of their pancakes or their fruit cup. But everything else has been very good. Most importantly their bathroom is clean and stocked with all the needs. I would give this restroom a solid A- they have a baby changing station in the men's restroom also!!
I had a good breakfast on Tuesday at Hotcakes, and I would try it again. But when it was time to check out they were having issues running cards. We stayed an extra 10 minutes to work through it. The cashier seemed to think the issue was do to WiFi problems related to rain very unusual. Still our server was friendly and the breakfast was decent.
This was our first time here and...we will definitely be back!
We were five adults and one three year old at a table, seated at around 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. No problem, not a crowd, and a very attentive waitress. The food was fine, every visible part of the kitchen was clean and kept that way, and The Price was Right for every generous portion. The manager was constantly walking around pouring coffee and asking customers about the quality of their service. My one downgrade is the size of the bathrooms. One person occupancy for each gender in a seating capacity of at least 50 people is ridiculous and building code should have caught this before the Place initially opened.
Not great. I ordered the chocolate chip crepes with a side of sausage patties. The crepes were gross, not like a normal crepe. They were dark and over cooked and smelled like play dough. The sausage patties were cold and I only got 2 for 3.99. I had to constantly fan flies away from my food. Waitress only came by twice, one to bring me my food and the second time to give me my check, no refills or anything. The place was also almost 100% empty. I see why. I won't be back.
Light crowd, eager employees and prompt service made this an enjoyable stop for a tasty breakfast.
Food was great, service was great, but awful manager. Horror story inbound.
The Loaded Croissant with the hash browns are my favorite. I just ordered it again, this time to-go. Very friendly staff. It was ready, hot and fresh when I walked in. The price isn’t too bad, you get plenty of food with every order.
Its awesome!! You get so much food for your money and the food is great. With GREAT SERVER'S
The food here was lukewarm and kind of gross. For as expensive as it was I was disappointed. My friend, her children and I went for lunch. The kids ordered pancakes and we ordered wraps. The French fries were barely warm and had no seasoning. Instead of having fresh lettuce and tomatoes in the wraps bagged salad seemed to have been poured over the protein in the wraps. The salad was unappealing lettuce served with one cucumber and tomato slice.
The food is incredible and the people are so nice and friendly. Very good service. I have never had a bad meal there.
Food, atmosphere and service were very good. Will definitely return.
I gave one star because there is no option for zero. First I walk in and just stood while two young ladies at the cashier area did busy work to seemingly ignore me. I asked for a menu and said Id like to place a to go order she just pointed to the back. Secondly I get to the back and nobody acknowledges me for at least a few minutes (sigh) The lady that took my order was nice. Lastly I leave and drive less than 3min away to find very unsatisfying food...cold eggs...chewy pancakes...unseasoned potatoes Wont return
