This is my first visit to Joella's. I live like 5 blocks but never came in the 2 yrs I've lived in Indy. I had the quarter half, tweener level heat, mash tators and colored greens. The chicken was cooked to perfection, perfect crunch, perfect spice/heat. Might try hotter next time. The mashed tators and the "kickin" gravy were delicious. Now, the colored greens. Folks, there is a science to cooking great colored greens. Cook'em slow and low, good seasoning, get that tenderness. Y'all, these colored greens were so freakin good, they will make you slap your momma, then turn around and ask her to slap you back! Amazing!Folks get here, eat, be super happy. The staffers super friendly, helpful! Best meal I've had in a while! EAT HERE!

First time dining at this establishment and I can say it won't be my last!! This chicken was ?.You can pick your own heat and dipping sauce. I tried and liked the tweener level heat and the yummy Jojo sauce with a kale salad side. Don't sleep on the kale salad it was the best salad I've had in awhile! I definitely recommend this place!
Went in around 2:30pm, there was a couple of customers in the restaurant..I stood at the counter for like 10 minutes and no one ever come to the counter..so I left..I can't rate the food because I never had their food? I guess they could of been short staffed and busy..but oh well.

I ordered a fried thigh with the kale salad, my friend ordered the classic big Sammy. We were both disappointed. The atmosphere and service were good, but the chicken was...alright. nothing special. My salad tasted like frozen spinach and was pretty close texturally....

I literally eat here everyday. Tenders are so tender they fall apart when you go to dip them in the ranch. Ella's fave 3 jumbo tenders mashed potatoes with the spicy gravy and extra bread is my go to meal. Regardless of restaurant traffic the food is usually brought out in under 5 minutes.
