Update: It's really funny, I guess he found a sucker. That's what they wanted cause had we taken over it wouldn't be closed now. Turns out they didn't even own the building they were lying about selling us. I guess it shows that he really didn't care about his place or his staff cause what do they have now? Looks like they made the right choice lol they just wanted to take the money, run, and leave somebody with less knowledge a mess. That wouldn't have happened to us and I hope their other places go backrupt. Can you believe he tried to tell me he owned the rights to Chicago style deep dish hahaha he knew I wasn't buying it. You don't own a shape dumbo. The more I think about how you spoke to me on the phone though....if you ever wanna get in the cage with me just let me know Danny boy. My number is still the same. Previous post -My wife and I were supposed to assume ownership of osteria32 from Dan and Summer. We were working there for 30 days as a transition period. Yesterday ( the last day of transition) Dan flips a fuse and backs out of the deal after my wife and I quit our jobs to be there and spent a lot of time and money that we didn't have. We had a meeting a couple weeks back and agreed we'd close down just before the 1st for a few days and reopen as our own. He calls me yesterday while my wife and I are there doing some work getting some last minute details in place and he says why are we closed? I said cause that's what we agreed on. He said oh your losing me money I can't believe you would close on new years and I can't believe you closed when the storm hit. Now mind you we'd been told repeatedly to make our own decisions because well, it was supposed to be ours mind you and today was supposed to be the transfer so how we were losing him money is beyond me. He was nasty with me on the phone and talked to me as if I were an employee not as somebody who was supposed to be making my own model and business decisions. I know he would never talk to me like that to my face but it's fine. I should have known his power trip by the way he constantly bragged about who he is. Now, I understand the tired look on his wife's face. Id look like that too if I had to deal with him everyday which is a shame cause she could do better by far. The staff liked our food better. I have been a chef and restaurant operater for 25 years, I ran a restaurant for one of the most famous chefs in the world, and successfully turned 2 failing restaurants around keeping them from closing ( both me and my wife did this ) I started them and brought her on after. It may not be illegal to back out on the last day but it sure does show a person's true colors he never even gave us the chance to show what we could do as he said he would. When you buy a business the former owner has no right to tell you how to operate it's a power trip as long as you pay the contract as agreed it's yours to run as you please succeed or fail because it's yours and you don't work for the person you're purchasing it from. He built us up, led us on, had us quit our jobs to be there, agreed on the closing and reopening actually it came out of his mouth shortly after my wife and I had the same discussion. It must be hard to deal with a relative or spouse knowing they're not good people like watching them ruin other peoples lives and sneaky. What a thing to do to two people who expressed that it was our lifelong dream to dangle it Infront of us for 29 days out of 30 and then pull out making senseless excuses. We were there early almost everyday, left after everybody else often, and he also expected me to take the business without taking time to do product list, inventory, menus, permits, licensing, contacting vendors, get the staffing it needs, business plan, or anything that's 10000000% the most important things that need done. Completely insane. It takes longer than a couple weeks to get all that stuff set up by far. I have all of our correspondence for an

Due to a fire. This place is currently closed. I would suggest.. some weed killer in the future so it actually looks like it's maintained and used.

The food is amazing. We waited two hours to get it though. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a big issue for us, but could be for many. We didn’t get the bread we asked for, or any refills on our drinks. They were busy & understaffed.

We've been to Osteria32 several times and you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't go have a bite. Amazing Italian food, dare I say, best food in Muncie. Check it out!!

Do not judge this place by the looks on the outside. The grass wasnt cut, windows needed cleaned, painting needed to be done, and it looked like it had been closed for a long time. But when you step inside and the smell of the food hits you, you know your in a great Italian restaurant. Take my advice and order the cheese breadsticks they are delicious. My lasagna was amazing. My friends said the food they ordered was delicious. Great food.

Craving Italian and this definitely fits the bill! Food was fantastic, dessert was just as good. We aren't from this area and so glad we found this out of the way restaurant. Chicken Parm was enough for 2 people, absolutely delicious. Cannot remember what my husband had, but it was equally delicious! Would highly recommend this place. Brandon took great care of us, so a HUGE Thank You to you Brandon!

Negatives first: the service was slow even though there weren't many people in the restaurant, and we witnessed a family get turned away at the door for having a toddler with them. Other than that, the food was really good! Worth the wait to get it. The house focaccia with olive oil was a really nice touch to go with our appetizer. It's definitely an unassuming little building that you wouldn't peg for having good Italian cuisine.

Walking in to Osteria32, you get the impression of a simple pizzeria, but the food and service are more of a higher end restaurant. Service was outstanding (thanks Brandan!) and the food was wonderful. The burrata with house-made pesto was exceptional. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.

Best Chicago style Pizza in Indiana. Check it out! Wait staff is really personable and nice!

Food was great - but took 90+ minutes for our food to arrive - ridiculous!! Took 15+ minutes to get our check. Had a 6:15 reservation and didn't get out until more than 2 1/2 hours later!!! They are losing money with such poor service. We would have ordered dessert - but didn't want to wait another hour! We saw a young couple come in dressed up for an event - didn't get their food in time and had to leave - so sad! If you have LOTS of time and patience - then come by - if not - don't waste your time!!!!

Food and service here are awesome! There is a bit of a wait for food, but I'm ok with that if it means my meal will be quality. A regular here recommended the chicken saltimboca, it did not disappoint! They have quite a few Italian wines and beer on tap. The service was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back!

Off the beaten path in Muncie is this Italian cuisine gem. The staff is really friendly and spends time going through the menu and also the specials that the chef will make off menu!!! Pay attention to those because they are fantastic. We started with the shrimp scampi and let me tell you I could have had that for a meal because it also came with 4 pieces of amazing focaccia bread. This focaccia bread was fantastic. It had the crunch on the outside and just enough soft on the inside. The chef as the bread down here! So I then had chicken parmigiana. It was hand flattened with an incredible sauce. I’ve normally seen this dish served with spaghetti but this has it with mixed vegetables. My friend had a steak with creamy pasta. I can’t remember the name of it but look at the picture below. It’s amazing! This place will be seeing more of me here because everything was fantastic! It was her birthday and she had the tiramisu (it’s her favorite). I was able to get a bite and it’s the best I’ve had.Good job!

Decided to try somewhere new in Muncie for my 50th birthday. We called at 6:09pm from the hospital parking lot to see if there was a wait and were told there was no wait. When we arrived less than 10 mins later we were asked if we had reservations. They seated us at a table without menus and we sat for over 20 mins without anyone acknowledging us further. We ended up walking out while the 2 servers/bartenders stood at the bar talking with a patron. While I understand that their webpage says walk-ins are accepted but reservations are recommended this is extremely poor customer service for any business. If healthcare has taught me anything, acknowledging and explaining delays goes a long way. Will not be giving any recommendations to any of my patients or their families.

Can’t believe I’m finally getting my review done for the BEST Italian in the state of Indiana! My clients from Calabasas,CA raved about the fantastic lasagna…the 2 top regular choices of my own are the Chicago deep dish pizza and Filet medallions with a side of spaghetti marinara. This is an upscale environment and always an enjoyable evening. The owner Dan has a culinary talent that is not easy to find…friendly, fun staff and flavorful specials! Be sure to visit Osteria 32 when you’re in Central Indiana! ??

This place was a pleasant surprise. I never knew Muncie had now three gems in the restaurant world. The staff was great and friendly from the bar tender to the servers to the chef. The food was vary fresh and took simplicity and elevated it with refined cooking and great flavor combinations. The salmon was nicely crusted with a pesto sauce while keeping the meet nice and moist and not trying things out.The rich sauce added a great depth of flavor to the potato’s that garnished the plate.Fishily the tiramisu and expresso was a nice wind down to the evening.Highly recommend giving this place a shot and trying one of the chefs changing features.

Recommended dishes: Cannoli, Tiramisu
