Best college I've attended. The professors I've had have been amazing and super helpful. I always recommend friends and family to attend here. They won't let you down and won't let you quit.

It's ridiculous that in this day and age you're unable to change a student username 'because the system does not allow you to'. I understand for legal purposes a degree/transfer credits must contain a student's legal name, but an internal username? As a transgendered student, I'm re-thinking my choice of attending this college if they can't honor such a simple request. I haven't had this issue in other educational institutions. My first experience as a potential student has already been dehumanizing, since the admissions and IT staff at JCCC are apparently at the mercy of the machines. Posting this review with my student account so other transgendered students can make informed decisions, and JCCC can do better in the future. P.S: I work IT and am seeking a computer science degree, which is how I know this is either an admittance of unwillingness, or a system that should be updated/phased out if it can't perform a function as simple as a manual username change and/or username creation. P.P.S: To the reply below, the Technical Support Center is the *first* place I called. I also submitted a Name Change Form as instructed by said Technical Support Center, and it was the JCCC Admissions Data Specialist who emailed me to state my username cannot be changed. Please research a complaint thoroughly before replying, as I've already done everything I've been asked to by your institution. Also, what is the point of submitting a Preferred Name, if your entire institution, including this reply, still deadnames me? P.P.P.S (02/09/23): Stop leaving me voicemails about this. Both the IT department (the worker I got was a sweetheart, but couldn't do a thing for me through no fault of her own) AND your student success center have made it clear you can't/won't do anything until I provide you with a legal name change. You've also deadnamed me in every single voicemail you've left, which continues to make me wonder what is the point of a Preferred Name policy.

They have a very nice performance theater. Otherwise there's not a lot around the area to do culturally.

This college is one of my places to learn and there is a class that I am taking but it's called connections to build better friendships and relationships and yes that also includes romantic relationships as well

Caught the end of the KC Japanese festival. Good time. Educational experience and a great place to find authentic Japanese pieces.

Solid school. Easy(ish) to navigate. Some of the buildings are far apart and depending on your classes you might have only 10 minutes to go all the way across campus. The staff is friendly and try to help anyone navigate the school, so don't worry! Each building is clearly labeled and maps are everywhere so it's hard to get lost. There's tons of socializing areas and seating for different gatherings. Some of the popular places would be the courtyard with the fountains or the large hill in the center of campus. The campus also has a variety of food options, so whether you want smoothies, coffee, pizza, pastries or a salad there are options all around!

Love this place. I've been attending for years, it's probably the single best community college in the country. And it just keeps getting better. University level professors, world class campus, friendly vibes.

I don’t go here but pass through on bike frequently. The grounds are beautiful and incredibly well-kept. Grass is green and net, sidewalks look like they are power washed regularly and the layout is the furthest thing from boring. 10/10 would bike through again

I am taking a welding certificate so I can work in the welding workforce. I want to work for the olathe railroad welding force after college. Then maybe do some underwater welding I have not quite decided. If I do I have to take a scubadiving class to get certified in that. After that I have to take a underwater course to get certified to do underwater welding but it will take me a while to do

The advisors and financial aid staff are unhelpful and apparently not interested in new students. Thanks to them, I won't be a jccc student.

Terrible service. Been going there a while and it’s on the decline. After checking in online and waiting over 20 minutes past the time they said they would get to me, I had to leave without getting a haircut so I would be late for work. No sense of urgency from the stylists who stand around talking with each other, even when they have a waiting room full of customers. Last time I got a cut there, it was uneven. Don’t go there.

Yardley Hall is dope! Great venue.

Also attended a graduation. The grounds were beautiful. The entire affair was handled beautifully considering how many graduates they needed to recognize. Helped a student move a table. Campus looked clean. Signs made it easy to find my way.

Jccc is a wonderful school. They helped me transfer to the University of Kansas after two years, saving me thousands of dollars. Since then I have been accepted to graduate school at UC Merced. I couldn't have done it without Jccc! Shout-out to their wonderful philosophy department.

great experience for most of my courses. Lori Slavin, Justin Dunham, Susan Johnson, Theresa McChesney, are amazing teachers. my only complaint is the physics 2 instructor options. Susan Johnson was amazing for physics 1 but physics 2 is only offered with an instructor that does not teach what is required to be successful. I have had to find another college to take physics 2.
