I went here with my fiancé after reading great reviews and passing it all the time getting home. We went on a Saturday, crowded little place, but the atmosphere was very nice and the people working were very friendly, especially the bar tender. The guacamole and bean dip with chips were awesome but I gotta say, our entrees were nothing special. The drinks were ok but I couldn?t finish mine because it was too spicy for my taste. I personally don?t think our dinner was worth the price I paid, but it was a nice time out.
My husband and I decided to try this place out after reading really positive reviews. Got there for dinner early on a Saturday night, the place was already packed but I still found the atmosphere very nice. The hostess was very sweet and we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender, I believe his name is Nigel, got us two margaritas. He was very friendly, as seemed the majority of the people who work here. I personally couldn't finish mine because it was too spicy for my taste but the special of the day margarita was very good. We ordered the guacamole and bean dip which was very very good but our entrees were nothing special. Personally I don't think the money i spent, which was a good amount, was worth it.
A group of my friends and myself came in one night and when decided to leave due to a long wait the manager came running after us when a table became available. And then on top of that, we had an AMAZING experience with our waiter, John. He was exceptionally friendly and attentive and we were VERY pleased with his service. He made the experience for us. 12/10. We will be returning to see John again.
We had such an amazing time here! John went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was perfect. We even got a special dessert not on the menu. Can?t wait to come back.
We had a great experience with John! The management is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is incredible. Would recommend.
I have been several times now & food & libations are perfect! If they have the raspberry margaritas you must try, the mixologist got a slam dunk with that beverage! The servers are very nice & well informed about dietary restrictions etc, which I appreciate! A must try in downtown Lexington!!
Great spot! Worth the wait to get a seat at the bar! Friendly, on-the-ball staff, a light and comfortable, atmosphere, and a select but diverse menu that took me back to my time in central and South America. Shrimp tacos were surprisingly spicy but delicious! My bartender Nigel was the friendly and attentive. Will definitely swing by next time I?m in Lex!
Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever had. Their special margarita was kiwi cucumber and spinach and it was phenomenal. Great service. I had a quinoa salad and I honestly couldn't believe how good it was. My friend and I couldn't stop saying "this is amazing" all night.
Solo dined at this eatery on a mid afternoon Sunday. Tacos and Tamales were outstanding. Sampled a strawberry hibiscus ice cream that was out of this world Great. Black beans with chips were also quite tasty. My waiter ?John? was excellent throughout my visit with above and beyond service. No. 1 restaurant in Lex as per Trip Advisor.
My daughter and I were traveling through from Cincinnati and we wanted to find a quaint place to have lunch and we found Corto Lime. And it was perfect, the food was favorable and pretty, the atmosphere inviting, with the cutest vintage look. John P. was our waiter, he was so sweet and kind, and made the whole experience worth while. I highly recomend Corto Lima.
Kind of delicious, but not conform to Asian flavor. The waiter is so kind and handsome so that I omit anything unsatisfied
Came here for an event- we were on the second floor. Food was great- they came out with more food everytime, staff was very attentive, and the bar was good. They had plenty of seating, but most stood. Again, didn't leave full- these are all very much finger foods. I would really like to try something that'll keep me full for a while. But for a small event, this would be a perfect place for a gathering of 20 people.
First time in Lexington and these people have it right! Great location, good food, decent price point. Ate tamales, corn on the cob, guacamole and chips, pork tacos, and topped it off with churros! It was all good!
The tamales were very good, but I was not a fan of the cauliflower â??al pastorâ? tacos. Overall, a nice ambiance and I will return.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Shared several small plates: Chicken Chicharrón (fried chicken thigh chunks) were awesome, tamales - super tasty, the empanadas were very good as well! My son loved the Shrimp and pork tacos!!!!!! Freshly made guacamole was a hit!!!! Will be back to this place for sure!!!!!
Our server John was a phenomenal hands-down the best hospitality and customer service any diner could ask for. He recommended food that was delicious and help us decide what we would drink. He explained all of the food and more, helping us feel comfortable and welcome. We will be back and refer all of our friends and family.... he gets it and so does Corta Y Lima ! This place is top notch.
Very quaint! Tons of vegan and gluten free options! A very nice spot downtown Lexington! If you haven't been, I would highly recommend it! I tried the shrimp ceviche.... YUM! And also had the quinoa pancakes..... made with no flour! I must say.... they were amazing!
Love this place and all the food. I've seriously taken friends and ordered all the tapas and tacos! The quinoa salad is phenomenal! Johnathan Lundy has himself a real winner here - of course!!
I love this restaurant! Their margaritas are the best and I'm currently on a mission to try every flavor. I was waiting at the bar for my table to be ready and the bartender was so unexpectedly friendly. I've never ordered the same thing off the menu and it's all been delicious. The last thing I had was the empanadas and I will definitely be having those again soon. You can't go wrong here
Love the ambience and drinks here! Great location downtown makes it a good spot to grab some appetizers before a night on the town. Food is good, portions are pretty small though. You can also rack up a pretty high bill in a hot second haha. Not my favorite dinner spot, but definitely a great spot for drinks and apps.
What's not to like about Corto Lima? I have visited multiple times with friends and never had a bad meal. The servers are very friendly and helpful. The drink selection is good and the wine choices are not options you would get at another restaurant locally. The small plates are varied and worth sharing in place of an entree. It tends to get busy quickly and they don't take reservations, only call ahead seating. Did I mention the guacamole? That as an appetizer alone is worth a trip.
Awesome place. Great food, gluten free options, lovely bartender (male), amazing tequila selection. One of my favorite places to eat. :)
Service and food was delicious. I could eat the street corn every day. Everything was fresh and unique to Lexington.
My boyfriend and I go to Corto every week! And sometimes 2 or 3 times a week It's our favorite place in Lexington and we are so excited the owners are opening an Italian style restaurant!
This place is really good! I love the guac and the little corn snack appetizers they have, the salsas are fresh and delicious as well! Only missing one star because the menu options are limited and the portions are pretty small compared to other taco places in the area. It is more of a upscale snack place to go with friends. That's the best way I can describe it! It is worth a try, they have some unique flavors!
My wife and I had an early dinner here tonight. Everything was great. There guacamole is very good. We had several small plates. The Adobo Chicken tacos were outstanding as well as the Chicken Chicharron. My wife says their margaritas are the best. Our hostess, Brook, was awesome.
Great atmosphere and the staff is great! Get the guacamole and load up on some tacos! Best Mezcal selection in town! Chef Lundy is killing it!
We went here to celebrate my best friends birthday and the experience was horrible. Mainly due to our waiter but also the food was just okay. A member of our party is expecting which we explain, therefore she wanted a virgin version of their drink special. It was a fruity drink with berries something none of us had before. When the waiter brings out the drinks he placed the alcoholic version in front of the mother to be. She ended up drinking half of her drink before realizing it contained alcohol. Then the waiter tried to blame her for not realizing sooner. As mentioned before we didn't know what the drink was supposed to taste like and it wasn't a strong drink either. The drink wasn't taken off the bill. He said he'd give us free dessert but most restaurants already do that when it's someone's birthday! In addition, the wait time to get our food and have drinks refilled was slow. Needless to say we had a very disappointed birthday girl!
Loved stopping in here while we were in Lexington. This cute space came highly recommended and it was worth it! We both loved our dishes and scrapped every bit of the guacamole and cheese out of the bowl. There was a nice variety of options too! It seems this place can get busy very quickly so I would recommend going at an off time or getting there early. Didn't seem like it would hold a large group well but perfect for lunch!
Corto Lima is absolutely delicious! I had been following them on Instagram for a while and finally got the chance to check them out. The menu is mostly tapas-style with some salad and entree options. We ordered: Blue Corn Empanadas with crab filling and a sweet & spicy pineapple sauce which was a great combination and the Arepas filled with cheese and a really tasty guacamole. The showstopper though was definitely the Chicken Chicharron, it was amazing! It had a spicy kick to it and pickled veggies on top. We liked it so much, we got two additional orders. We also tried the adobo chicken tacos and those were really good. One thing to keep in mind is that all the appetizers can only be split between two people as they aren't large portions, so make sure your order several at a time. For dessert, we shared the Tres Leches cake with a pineapple topping and I can say it's definitely a must. The pineapple is a really nice, refreshing take on this cake. The bar options are extensive and though we didn't get to try their margaritas, they all sounded really good and we'll definitely come back to try them out.
Wow! Amazing flavor! Tacos are small but delicious. My husband and I also split the sugar cane shrimp, amazing as well.
Corto has become our #1 destination for a meal in Lexington. Drinks are always top notch, service is outstanding and food quality is 5 star. Glad to see they are ranked at the top!
I recently visited Corto Lima for lunch, and I really enjoyed it! It's a cheerful Latin-inspired spot, with great food and drinks! The space is really beautiful, it's the perfect spot for a casual lunch. I started with a Prickly Pear Margarita and it was delicious! It was also beautiful. And it tasted as good as it looked. We ordered Queso Blanco for the table. The warm cheese dip with onions and peppers was perfect with the fresh crunchy chips. While they do have entrees on the menu, I opted for a couple of small plates instead. I had the Blue Corn Empanadas, which were filled with Chilean rock crab, green chilies, cream cheese, and pineapple-banana pepper hot sauce. They were excellent! I also had the Charred Elote, which was cooked to perfection. My cousin had the Papas en la Latta, which are hand-cut fries smothered with queso blanco, jalapenos, smoked salt, and pico de gallo, and she added barrel smoked pork carnitas. I tried some of her dish and it was delicious as well. I would definitely return to Corto Lima for lunch or dinner, and I definitely recommend it as a spot to check out in Lexington!
This is one of the most outstanding restaurants in all Kentucky. The Latin cuisine and infusions take me and my husband back to travels we've had. You must check them out now.
This place was heaven. I was so thrilled to find this. I found it because the reviews like this, so I figured I might as well add my own to say just how delicious my food was. I sat in the bar area and the staff was very nice as well. I left feeling more content than Iâ??ve been in months. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. :-)
I was pretty surprised to find a fairly good Mexican restaurant in Kentucky! I was definitely having my fair share of heat when eating...even the margarita had a little bit of kickback. I just got the tacos which were crunchy instead of soft. I think I would have enjoyed them if soft...I only came to chat with a friend and we weren't that hungry but I'll visit again for another round!
The little trendy spots sometimes miss the mark for me and I'm a Mexican food snob but this place hit the spot. Food was fantastic and I can't wait to be in the area again to give the menu another try. This visit I had the bean dip, tamales and guacamole...outstanding. I'll be back!
Great service ! The margaritas are amazing! We tried a few small plates & they were all awesome. Absolutely everything we tried was amazing.
The best mexican/latin food I have eaten. True chef inspired, great atmosphere and the best mexican/latin food in Lexington. Will be back next trip to KY for sure. A foodies must eat at place
