I was excited to try authentic German food in Lexington so stopped in at Marrikas. My server and the service she provided was top notch and sadly the best thing about the meal. I ordered the schweine schnitzle with potato dumplings and green beans. I think the chef forgot to add any preseasoning to the pork cutlet let alone the breading as it was anemic in color and in taste. The server did provide me with a l lemon wedge which helped somewhat. The green beans were essentially poured out of a can into a saucepan and heated. A dollop of pork fat with some seasoning could go a long way in erasing the tinny aftertaste. After one forkful I left the remainder on the plate. The best thing was soft and tender potato dumplings. No one beats the Germans for their dumplings! The accompanying gravy however was generic, commercial, out of a can variety with absolute no taste. In Germany, every meal starts with fresh bread and butter. I asked my server and she admitted they do not offer bread and butter with meals; however, she very graciously brought me two fresh, warm slices of commercial rye bread over four generous pats of butter that were warmed from the heated bread. That was a nice touch. I looked at dessert but when I saw German chocolate cake I looked no further. That’s an American bakery item and not authentic to Germany. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with several authentic German decorative items on the walls. The hostess/server was top notch. Real German food is quite delicious. Sadly, today’s meal did not met that goal.

A little overpriced for their food, kind of a plain restaurant ( don't offer to go cups, silly thing to complain about but at $3.00 for a glass of water downed ice tea, and can't even take it with you)

This was our first time here so we ordered a little of everything. Got the pretzel the sausage plate and the pick 3 app plate. Food was wonderful. All I can say it was a good experience and you will have to try for

I hate to rain on everybody's good time but I'm frankly baffled by the positive reviews here. I have a very forgiving palate, and a weakness for bar food, but I've been to Mariska's 4 or 5 times, usually because someone else wants German food, and have sampled a variety of things from the menu, I've never had anything even remotely good. The corn dog bites were literally the worst thing I've ever eaten in a restaurant and tasted like I imagine prison food must taste. Perhaps if I liked German food? I don't know. I've tried some of everything and just don't get it. A friend of mine compares it to the kind of food you get in an amusement park like King's Island. Just my $0.02.

Bartenders are always friendly. I've ordered the loaded fries, hot wings, pizza, and soft pretzel. All have been delicious. I also have gotten several different mixed cocktails, all tasty!

A Gem for Beer and Fun Enthusiasts!"Overall, our experience at this place was fantastic! It boasts an extensive selection of beers, wines, and liquors - truly a paradise for beverage enthusiasts. The atmosphere is lively with games like darts, ample seating, and TVs everywhere, but the real highlight is the indoor volleyball facility with sand, making it one of the coolest spots in town. The staff were incredibly helpful, offering local tips and attractions, which was especially appreciated since we're from out of town. The only drawback was the margarita, which didn't quite hit the mark. However, it's clear that this place excels more in the beer and shot department.Overall, a must-visit for those seeking a vibrant atmosphere, great drinks, and a fun-filled experience!

Great spot to do loads of things. Drinking games, lots of tv’s indoor/outdoor sand volleyball courts… what more could you ask for? A huge beverage selection? That too! And decent German style food too. If you haven’t, check it out soon!Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level access with ramped curbs

We always bring a crowd, and everyone always had fun. Beer options abound plus there's a full bar. Plenty of food options, either on the German menu or the snacking menu with things like mini corn dogs, giant pretzels, pizza, etc.Parking: It can be hard to find parking when it's crowded. There is a fair amount of parking nearby that's off limits because the owner of that lot like to tow. That post signs on the doors of where NOT to park and make frequent announcements.

Great place and atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Plenty of entertainment. Haven't tried the food, but I'm sure it's great too.

Great atmosphere. Beer was good and pizza was okay- a little bit thicker of a crust which I'm not a huge fan of but it was good and would go back with friends again!

Really cool place with great bar games, a stellar beer selection, and decent food. Loved our experience there. (Also, to the reviewers complaining about the music, it's a TouchTunes jukebox. If you don't like it, put your money in and play something else or shut up about it. I personally like the variety of music that gets played here.)

This is my most favorite bar/restaurant in Lexington - vast selection of drinks, delicious pretzels, welcoming players on the volleyball courts during free play. Love this place!!!
