This facility is small, so be prepared to sit solo at a table top, stand, or get it to go. However, the food and beverages were good. Their egg & cheese bagel was fresh and the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte was nice. The prices were fair and the same as other coffee shops in the vicinity.

Our drinks were fine, but I can't recommend visiting here in their last 20 minutes of service. We got there at quarter til 2, which is when they close (not that I knew that walking in) and the barista making drinks was visibly and audibly pissed. "We don't have any coffee or iced coffee, and there will be no more espresso in 3 minutes". ? Then another small group walked in after us and they had "1 minute left to order espresso drinks". It was 10 til. Just seemed goofy. If your staff wants to go home at 2, close at 1:30, I guess? Not worth making the clientele feel extremely awkward. The worker taking orders was very nice.

Nice little coffee shop. I had an eggnog latte and it was perfect!! Wasn't pure milk, delicious taste of the roasted espresso and my favorite winter flavor with the eggnog added. Really happy with my choice for morning caffeine on my visit downtown.

This place has really gone downhill. All the fun, friendly staff are gone now, they really made my day better I used to look forward to coming here to be greeted by a bunch of friendly faces. I don't blame them but sadly losing them lost all the charm too. I overheard a few times from staff members that they are NOT treated good.... Some of the things I heard about the owner, eish! The drinks and food are not as good as they used to be, the quality has drastically dropped meanwhile the prices go up.

No surprise given the name and art on the walls, but the drinks and food choices are so creative! (In addition to the classics). We had a Cafe Miele, which was a delicious honey and vanilla flavored latte, and a really interesting Cuban drink that incorporates SALT! We were so glad to grab some coffee before a long museum day, and the food looked so good we had second breakfast. We were not disappointed by the bacon and egg sandwich and pumpkin bread (SO SO GOOD). There's also plenty of seating since people aren't likely sitting there all day. Highly recommend.
This place is ridiculous. No effort to cater to customers. I don't care attitude. "Don't sell 2%, it just too much work and I'm so busy." No line, and 5 people in the restaurant. This place is a joke.Update: Thanks for addressing the issue.

Hello sirs, I used to come by on a semi-weekly basis to buy espresso-based drinks made by this oatmeal-colored Haredi beauty whom I have just learned is no longer working there. I have crippling lactose intolerance, but for a whole year, God as my witness, I withstood the most fetid bowel movements so that I could witness and taste her unmatched dexterity with a steam wand, a skill without which the over-roasted espresso beans (which, by the way, are a waste of prime single origin harvest, I mean, why is it so hard for Americans to make something that isn't an oily and bitter dark roast?) are simply unbearable. I mean, from time to time she may have been a little dry, but I'd rather have a dry barista than a wet foamy cortado. The replacement, I learned today, was this bland milquetoast gentile with a tiny wrist who needs to learn how to steam a latte. Once again, I'm stuck buying from Deeper Roots, where at least the coffee beans aren't refried. PS your toilet paper is a little rough.

Maple & sausage breakfast bagel is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Great espresso, too. Popped into Blackbeard twice while staying at a nearby hotel. Great stuff.

What a welcoming and cozy coffee shop downtown. I was staying at a hotel around the corner and wanted a cup of joe before heading home. After a quick search on Yelp, I was walking into Blackbeard. They were definitely in the middle of their morning rush as folks were in line, waiting for drinks, and every table was taken, either by someone working away on a computer or chatting with friends. I opted to go with a latte with soy milk. It was delicious, but I did have to wait extra long because my drink was made incorrectly. Stuff happens, I totally get it. They were also really cool about it and honestly, I didn't mind sticking around to enjoy the vibes before I left.Few little things... There is street parking out front that requires payment, they definitely have wifi, they also had some baked goods, and they had chill music playing. Hopefully that helps set the stage for you. Overall, I had a solid experience.

This is a cool little place. I like the decor and the staff is very nice. I got a Cuban Café Con Leche. A little off the mark in terms of flavor as it should be much sweeter. It was still good and I would buy it again. I didn't try the food but it looked delicious. They only lost a star because of cleanliness. Dusty and some cobwebs, not enough to deter me. I'll definitely return.
