Went to Buck's tonight for our 50th wedding anniversary with friends who had been there before. It was our first time dining at Buck's. The whole night was wonderful! The whole staff went above and beyond to make the night perfect. The food was perfect, drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere very romantic. Miss Embry was the perfect waitress. We can't wait to go back!

Had Anniversary dinner there last night, service and food were exceptional. Dillon was our server, very personal and attentive. Food was delicious as always. I had the crispy fish (i always order that) fish was so flaky and crispy on abed of rice,my wife had the spicy noodles. My wife said the noodles were spiced just perfectly and chicken chunks moist and tasty. We split bread pudding for dessert and it was soul warming.

This review is a year overdue… Buck’s provided the most beautiful and delicious wedding dinner for my family of twelve. The private room had already been reserved, but they seamlessly made extra accommodations to provide an unforgettable celebration for us in their exquisite, spacious restaurant. I was particularly touched that while we were out-of-towners, Buck’s still treated us like honored family. You’ve won fans for life. Thank you so much!

Stopped in for a snack and cocktail after a day at St. James Art Festival. Sat outside on nice patio.
Didn't eat, because of the terrible smell of old cooking grease! It was nauseating.

Amazing. Tony was our server and he really cared about us having a good experience. We said we were taking a photo of the food and drinks and he even brought some flowers over to spruce up the picture. Amazing food. Love it here and WILL be back.

We have celebrated my youngest daughter's birthday at Bucks for the past 10 years. It started with a Groupon years ago.

My attendance was a business luncheon. The food was excellent. Our waitress was charming and attentive. I personally couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you Bucks! We will be there again.

Buck’s Restaurant in Old Louisville is a place that wears its elegance proudly — from the white tablecloths and floral decor to the live piano music drifting through the air. It's the kind of spot where time seems to slow down, which can be both a blessing and a bit of a curse.

The service was warm and genuinely attentive. Our server was friendly and checked in often, but the wait for our food was longer than expected. While the pace might suit a leisurely evening out, those expecting a quicker meal may want to adjust their expectations.

Unfortunately, they were sold out of the ribeye, which was a letdown. However, the short rib Wellington more than made up for it — tender, flavorful, and wrapped in a perfectly crisp pastry. Dessert was another highlight: the bread pudding was rich, comforting, and easily one of the best we’ve had in the city.

Adding to the charm was the live piano player, whose music set the perfect tone for the night. The ambiance was elegant without being stuffy, and the owner even came by our table to chat, which made the experience feel personal and memorable.
