I could not get over how good the food was here. Was not expecting that but was pleasantly surprised. I tell you what I got, but I done forgot LOL. The staff is a little bit todd, and sometimes it's a challenge communicating. The restaurant seems a little more formal and dated then it probably should, but those are extremely minor details to a overall great dining experience. My wife can't stand heat, she got her food flavored mildly, and had no issues with it. I on the other hand like my food a little bit spicy, I had mine one level from the hottest, I most definitely felt that haha. The great thing about the heat they use is that it doesn't take from the flavor. They have a lot of vegetarian options obviously, and one of the appetizers is a cauliflower dish that you must try. Overall very much love this place, will absolutely be back.

Shalimar consistently impresses me. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. I ordered the tikka masala, my dad got the curry with chicken, and we also got tandoori chicken and garlic naan. The food was fresh, place is always very clean, and the staff is super accommodating. I just REALLY wish they would bring back the buffet. It was top tier. Also, they unfortunately do not have a kids menu.
