The food here is great and the ordering is simple. Unfortunately their cooking method results in a very hazy and smoky atmosphere. Walking into their spaces makes feel like you’re entering a smoke house.

So good! You can grab a beer from Wooden Cask brewery and order BBQ. Sitting area is great.
The ribs, chicken wings & pulled pork were really great! The pulled pork had so much flavor. The potato salad tasted so fresh, not store bought like most restaurants. The slaw was very pickled but very very good to pair with the bread and meat. BUT that was the worst brisket I have ever had. It tasted like microwaved BBQ. It comes chopped but into small harder chunked squares. Not at all tender or marbled like standard chopped brisket. The sauce comes already on the brisket, which is just a preference but I was not a fan of. Over all the food was good but not worth the price for BBQ.

Paid $40+ for a meal for one with two non alcoholic drinks and dessert.... not worth the money. The Mac and cheese was terrible. We asked about a refund because we took two bites but they only gave us back $25 out of $47. So we paid $22 for two bottles of lemonade and tea and a bite of bad dessert. What a great place, I would give the food zero stars if possible.

We were traveling from Louisville KY to home in Akron Ohio. We were craving some bbq! We found Beards and Belly and went to check it out. We were so happy we did! Food was AMAZING!! Their recipe for greens, potato salad and pickle salad were the best we’ve ever had!! BBQ was AMAZING! Brisket, pork belly and sausage! It was definitely finger licking good!! The atmosphere and the jolly bearded guys were so friendly too!We will be back!
I walked to this BBQ joint to grab lunch. Had no idea it was in a bar, but it's absolutely the BEST BBQ IN NEWPORT!!!I ordered a full rack of ribs and a brisket slider to-go. The man who took my order was very friendly, as well as the guy who was cooking. Even tho it was 3 minutes before listed opening time, I sensed no annoyance with my being there. I waited outside with their buzzer, and about 15 minutes later, I was given everything perfectly packaged for the walk home. They even made sure to tell me that the pickles were packaged in a way where they'd stay cold and crisp.When I got home, I couldn't believe the quality and quantity of my meal. As of now ( a day later) I'm eating more ribs as leftovers and still have more for later.Great tasting food, great service, awesome experience! Would highly recommend. Thanks, guys!
