They charged us at $31 and some change as market price for frog legs. Every other restaurant has the same amount for $20 and under. Ridiculous! The blackberry cobbler was made from canned nasty raspberry filling (or blackberry but I doubt it as it was pink). The crust was chewy and not right, maybe freezer burnt. Service was ok.

If you are wanting true SOUTHERN FOOD you don't want to miss out on eating at Blue Isle. Some of the best fried chicken, greens, corn and cobblers I have ever eaten. "BRING YOUR APPETITE, IT'S A VERY NICE BUFFET STYLE" . The service is by far the best we have had in a long time. William was our server, he was so nice, polite and attentive. It was an enjoyable experience all around. We will definitely be back anytime we are near Winchester, Kentucky.

To be fair, this restaurant was using paper products instead of regular, they were having internet issues so they could only take cash, or I would give it 5 stars snd I would've just gotten it to go if I wasn't just dying for a glass of wine. Our waitress was amazing (sorry I don't remember her name). My daughter ordered the seafood platter because we just moved here (she grew up in Cali, I grew up in KY) and she'd never had frog legs. To quote her, "frogs are cute... not tasty" . I am not a fan either, but she tried them. The catfish was fabulous, fried shrimp as well, but the crab cakes stole the show! I ordered grilled shrimp that I really enjoyed but got the red beans and rice as a side.... YUMMY! I also got the green beans which were superb, my big mistake is I ordered the dinner roll, my daughter ordered the cornbread. Y'all should just serve the cornbread... seriously, I am not a fan of cornbread, but this was terrific. My daughter said the roll looks like what her cafeteria serves . It wasn't bad, but the cornbread is more like a Johnny cake. Way more elevated than a hush puppy or slice of cornbread. We will definitely return!

Thursday evening after driving from the Dayton, Ohio area, we decided to have a nice meal. Blue Isle had good ratings and wasn't far from where we were staying so we thought we'd take a chance. We were not disappointed! My husband had the seafood platter and I had the four-piece fried chicken dinner. OMG! The food was excellent and what huge servings! We understand that Covid has really taken its toll on a LOT of businesses. Food was served on paper plates with plastic ware for eating with, but that didn't matter. The owner was the host and the waiter and he is so friendly! Service with a smile and really cared that everything was to our satisfaction. He and my husband got into a discussion about military life and duty stations. Both are retired military. We went in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday and were the only ones in the restaurant. Another couple came in while we were there, but that didn't interfere with the service and friendliness. Our only regret is that we don't live closer. We haven't found a place like Blue Isle in our area. If we find ourselves in the Winchester area again, we will definitely go back! We LOVED this place!

I was riding through and so happened to stop at this exit and this was the first place that came up on Google. And it was like I won a prize. It was Sunday so it was buffet style but it was some of the best food I've had in a while. Loved it and the people were very nice and I was treated very well. I loved this place.

Their food is amazing, but they're so busy. There wait staff cannot keep up with so many people. But they do an amazing job with a smile on their face and a cheerful attitude. And that goes a long ways.

Buffet was good. Fried chicken was good. In my opinion was overpriced and not quite worth the 19 dollars a piece we paid. Also parking was hard to get with the country club being busy and them sharing the lot.

We are visiting Winchester on our way from Illinois to Virginia. Dinner at Blue Isle was absolutely delicious as well as plentiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

We ordered several items and all were very salty. The salt just overpowered the food, which was a shame because the fried chicken and the fried mushrooms were cooked perfectly. The waffles for my chicken and waffles came out soggy and undercooked even though their color was golden. Also note that they are serving on paper plates and condiments are little packages like from fast food places. This overlooks a golf course and the view was the best part of the meal. I would not go back.

The quantity and quality of the food is amazing. I always have enough leftover for the next meal. The food is freshly prepared and as delicious as my grandmother's. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back

Oh. My. Word. HOW DO THEY GIVE YOU SO MUCH FOOD?! And pardon me. But daaaa*yyyyummmmmmm* it was delicious! Everything was so flavorful. No matter how many adjectives I tried to use to describe, they wouldn't do it justice, just go. Stop reading this and go. I can't wait to go back ??

We ate there for Thanksgiving with the family. The menu was limited to certain items, as expected. However, the wait time for the food was longer than expected considering it was a limited menu, presumably with an assumption that it just needed to be plated to order. The waiter & staff was pleasant. My aunt's turkey was still pink in the middle, which possibly explains the wait for food. I'm not suggesting it was undercooked, perhaps it temped out correctly and we're just a nation that tends to prefer our food overcooked. Regardless, it was pink in the middle & we weren't taking any chances. When I checked my bank statement a few days later I found out I was charged a tip in the amount of the total of my order, although I checked their appropriate box for the tip amount, wrote in the total dollar amount along with the word ''total'' written out and both the dollar amount & word circled. I called & discussed it with them & they did mail a refund check.1 ? for pink turkey, wait time & incorrect charge. We were not impressed and won't be returning.

Best fried chicken you'll ever have. Everyone on staff is very friendly and polite. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for some straight up comfort food goodness.

Blue Isle is a hidden gem. Worthy of a stop near Red River Gorge and Lexington. Good homestyle food served with a very friendly smile. Definitely stop. We had lunch with a group of 6 and everyone had great food.

My mom and I were out just riding around and I found this restaurant. All I can say is the food was fantastic! Hot and fresh. We will be coming back real soon.
