I DO NOT RECOMMEND eating here. HORRIBLE customer service and undercooked food. I normally never ask for a refund but I did this time because it was that bad and we had paid over $10 for the food. I was fine with the bland fried rice, but the undercooked chicken was not acceptable. While I tried to politely explain the situation, the woman and her worker were insanely rude, looking at me like I was stupid, talking bad about us in their language, YANKED our food out of my hand, and said we couldn’t get a refund without our debit cards. (We paid with Apple Pay) we left with NO FOOD and NO money. She didn’t even bother to try to find a solution. I can’t believe how rude this place treated us over this it truly broke my heart to leave so unsatisfied. I know it’s only two people they lost as a customer and it might mean nothing to them, but I’m truly upset as I came in recommending the place to my sister and leaving unhappy. I no longer will be recommending this place. These pictures did not give it justice to show how slimey and raw they tasted and looked.

Please take Mongolian Beef of the menue until you learn how to make it. Mongolian beef and Pepper steak are not the same. More effort and ingredients goes into making Mongolian beef. In addition, it is spicy. The egg foo yung is top notch, it's sauce eas a little thin and watery. Where are the vegetables that go in the beef lo mein? ?

The food is okay. I got Gen Chi dinner plate with shrimp fried rice and an order of crab rangoons. Was surprised that the plate doesn't come with a side, so you have to order your eggroll, etc, separately. Food is hot but lacking in much flavour. Shrimp fried rice doesn't have much shrimp, and no flavor in the rice. The crab rangoons are okay, they are sweet instead of bitter.

I have been getting the hot and sour soup for over 20 years from China Taste. Before today my most recent visit was about a month ago. Today I ordered the soup, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The soup was so hot my family tried to eat but could not. My mother is still coughing. I contacted China Taste to let them know and was given the response from the young lady of, " We have been making it hotter over time." My response, "Well it's too hot to eat and we won't be dining/ordering again."

This place is absolutely horrible. It is infested with live and dead insects/bugs throughout the dinning area. There are cobwebs and mantle dust for days. The attendant at the cashier was not professional. I noticed these observations "after" I placed an order while sitting in the dinning area. At one point, there was a live small roach crawling in the window seal-I addressed the cashier and she immediately just ran back into the kitchen to grab bug spray. Management/Owner of this establishment needs to plan a serious fumigation appointment with a pesticides company in addition to thoroughly cleaning this place from the dinning area, front counter restroom and God knows what the kitchen and prepping area looks like. I left my funds and food there.

The absolute WORST customer service! The teenager behind the counter barely looked up, did not utter one word, then brought my food out in a To-Go box! I said, “I’m eating here.” She turned around and walked off within uttering a word. No fork, napkin, nothing. I had to get up and go find it myself. And to top it off, they charged a “service charge.” Watch your receipts!!!I had been so looking forward to eating here as I had a good experience last time (over a year ago). Will certainly never be coming back!!!

I ordered old dried out Mandarin chicken... like it was fried earlier and they redrop in the fryer to warm it up. Had a jerky pull and toughness to it. Also, it wasnt breaded like it supposed to be. The brown gravy they give to dip the mandarin ck in was horrible. It had watery consistency and tasted like it had blood in it. Overwhelming iron taste and not how the brown gravy ever tasted before. ? I threw that straight in the trash. Brocolli has been undercooked lately. I mean basically raw. Wonton soup I've had way better... pasta wasn't even cooked and very large pieces. Eggrolls were the only thing I could eat. Been here several times over the past 12 yrs and seems to be going down hill. This was the worse and prob last. I'd rather drive a little further to China bear. Only disappointment I have with them is that they close earlier than most at 830.

Note: even though the overall review score is high. Most reviews are not current. Even the most recent 5 star seems suspicious. As they only have 3 reviews of Baton Rouge Chinese restaurants in their whole history but yet they are from California. My wife left a review already on the experience. I wanted to elaborate from my perspective. We both had the dinner combination. The cleanliness of the place was questionable. The food arrived fairly quickly. The egg rolls were hot and acceptable. The teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken both tasted off. Both of the chicken dishes tasted as if it was not fresh or tainted. Maybe it was recycled as another reviewer mentioned. The pork fried rice that came on the side was cold, bland and also tasted off. The soda machine had a almost moldy taste on the tea and Diet Coke. My guess is they haven't changed the water filters in a while. I really didn't feel any of my complaints would have been taken seriously. There was a service charge on the receipt, my guess was due to me using a credit card. There was no signage that I saw or mention of the charge. Panda Express is easily a better product and choice. Which is sad to say. I prefer to go to the mom and pop places, but this one is in the never again list. We both felt sick afterward. I couldn't finish hardly any of the food. I usually take my leftovers if any exist. I tossed 75 percent of it happily.

We had the teriyaki chicken dinner combo and the sesame chicken dinner combo. The dinner combos are served with an entree, egg roll, pork fried rice, and a beverage. It was a lot of food for the price, but we threw most of it away. The egg rolls were fine. The egg rolls were the only food that was served to us warm. The teriyaki chicken was ok but it was a bit dry. The sesame chicken tasted off. I'm not sure whether the chicken was bad or whether it was something else. Odd taste and aftertaste. Later, we both felt a little nauseous. Also, note that they add a service charge (I believe it was because we used a credit card to pay). There may have been a sign up about the service charge. Just want to make sure people are aware.
