As a resident of Mid city and a poboy lover I have to say Jed’s is utterly disappointing. Boy would it be great to have a good sandwich/poboy shop in the government street area. With only few options Jed’s is definitely the worst poboy in town. I have given it 2 shots. The bread is soft hoagie style that falls apart (not in a good way) and the middle fair is less than adequate. I love to see a local business trying their best but many other options are superior.

Had a crawfish cake po-boy for lunch with cole slaw and it was pretty good! Homemade slaw. Filling cakes. Presentation was nice but closing the po-boy was tricky. the tomato was basically in the way because of it's cut and the size of the bread so take it off, smash that cake in, and it's good to go! The onion rings are shoestring, btw, and are pleasantly seasoned. I don't know what kind of tea they use but the sweet tea is a must. Service was great and I wasn't expecting the restaurant to be as nice inside (thought it was going to be more of a hole-in-the-wall) but really enjoyed the mood/environment. There's a full service bar and a few TVs with nice and modern decor. I recommend going....I want to go again and try different dishes!

Overall, Jed's is a wonderful place, with a sparky menu, lively food, convivial atmosphere, and good service. However, it is in danger of getting sloppy around the edges. On my latest visit, I ordered the usually brilliant Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The French fries were superb and the coleslaw fresh, light, and refreshing; the sauce for the sandwich was splendid. However, the chicken itself was rubbery and chewy. It was clearly of no more than low-level supermarket variety. A venue with the aspirations of JED's should be using quality, free-range or organic chicken and should not be depending only on the sauce to carry the dish. So, JED's, let's see quality all the way around!Parking: No problem with parking.

So the menu for pick up involves a 15% gratuity. Wife ordered so I don’t know Waitress gives me ticket to sign and I tip 15%. Not a word said. Shady!Response to JEDs: Partially deaf and I didn’t have glasses. You got your chance. Ppl are tired of tipping and being scammed. Oh, and I def blame myself. It’s like if you don’t hold your cash tightly, ppl will take it with no shame! Don’t need a refund. I’m one of those who will just never ever go back and I’ll make sure ppl know why.

Very disappointed. I've heard good things but it was bad. The roast beef poboy was served cold, a little gravy and it was on a glorified hot dog bun. Go to the store and get some Leidenheimers. Real poboy bread. The shrimp meuniere was bland. Too much worcestershire. The grits were not properly salted. The presentation was awful. It was just dumped in a bowl, cafeteria style. Way too much bland sauce. In response to the owner's question: We were there, Saturday, 3/2/2024 at around 5:30 pm.

New Orleans style po-boys/poor boys in Baton Rouge don't exist. The biggest problem is the bread and BR just doesn't get it ( same with Muffs, bead wrong and served hot, yuk). Okay, Jed's roast beef sandwich/sub/hoagie/grinder is delicious. Nicely dressed with lettuce, tomato tender melt in your mouth, very flavorful juicy roast beef piled high on the bread. The house made chips were delicious. The Cole slaw was savory, not sweet and crunchy. The dressing wasn't mayonnaise thick and greasy but complimented the slaw instead of overpowering it. Much improved from what I've had there in the past.

It was good but charging $17 for only 6 pieces of shrimp is criminal ?

Great local spot for a casual yet refined and thoughtful meal. We live in the neighborhood, and it's perfect for a nice low-key night out. Thanks so much!

The food is fresh and very normal. It’s is outrageously priced. $67.00 for three poboys is ridiculous. No drinks included. We’ve eaten there before the remodel and it was wonderful. The prices have gone up significantly since. Two pieces of battered catfish on bread shouldn’t be that high. It’s a shame. That’s just one opinion. Make your own.

The remodel increased prices. This is somewhat understandable, but everything should be much better and it isn't.The kids catfish plate is served with one strip of fish.It was also stale and hot inside. There wasn't a single ceiling fan running.

Ordered what was supposed to be a N.O. poboy, which it wasn’t. First of all, poboy was a cold, dry, hot-dog like mini loaf. They advertise Leidenheimer’s, but I don’t think so. The roast beef was very stringy and dry with a little gravy on top of a Roast beef poboyside-split poboy presentation. Not a N.O. poboy! My wife ordered a meatball poboy and there isn’t enough room here to describe her and my disappointment with this whatever it was. We’re from N.O. and maybe a little more discerning when it comes to a poboy, but if you’re in the restaurant business and advertise something, you should be able to provide such. Disappointed, but onions rings were okay.

The newly renovated restaurant offers a nice, quiet ambiance. It’s cozy and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food is top notch. Definitely a local favorite. This is my 4th visit. 1st since the renovation. Food is always on point. Very consistent.
