Ms Alzina is almost 90 yrs old. She cooks all day with some assistance from her granddaughter. The food & experience was phenomenal. You MUST make a reservation for at least 8 for dinner. Get some pals together and go check out this amazing hidden gem of an eatery !

This is and has always been a one of a kind experience, to talk with and experience an evening with Ms. Alzina and her family. The food is phenomenal to say the least. And you feel like part of the family. We've been 3 times now, and the Lord willing, go many more times. God bless you, Ms. Alzina Toups. We love you!😊

The meal was very tasty as well as healthy. This is a unique dining experience. Reservations are required well in advance for this special "restaurant".

Very good. Not a restaurant in the normal sense. Only cooks for groups. 6 -25.

We had such a wonderful lunch and everyone in my party of 12 can’t stop talking about the different dishes. Each dish was fantastic! The gumbo was amazing as well as the white chocolafe bread pudding! My husband and I aren’t bread pudding fans but we have been converted to hers! You can tell she cooks with love. I loved talking to Ms. Alzina. She seems so genuine, humble and sweet and you just want to be around her all the time and hug her. Her two granddaughters Jenny and Tish were helping her the day we were there. They are also very nice and helpful and answer a lot of questions about the dishes and history of the recipes. Tish to me, reminds me of a mini-Alzina. Very helpful, sharing and accommodating about questions I had about the recipes. Ms. Alzina sells two kinds of cookbooks and I bought plenty for family and friends as gifts. Of course she signed all the cookbooks we bought which was probably about 18 among us! She will also point out a few of her favorite or recommended recipes in her cookbook. The cookbooks have a lot of recipes from other locals that she had gathered over the years so it’s a great history of the food prepared in that area. I am already trying to figure out when is the next date available for me to come back. Such a wonderful meal and experienced! So blessed I had a chance to talk to Ms. Alzina.

Have been several times. Worth any reservation wait you may endure to get this intensely authentic food. In a modest setting with a modestly amazing woman. It's an absolute must!
