We live local and eat here at least once a week. The waiters know what we want before we even sit down and always present themselves in a professional manner. The food is always hot and fresh served with chips and salsa. The margaritas are my favorite in town and the beer is always cold. Customer service has always been spot on over the years. Most importantly, in my opinion, is the owners work the restaurant as a family which is something you don’t see much of anymore.Good food, cold drinks & great people

Been eating at this place for quite some time. Was one of our favorites. Last few times I went service was terrible had to beg for a drink not to mention a refill. I think I'll just take my business to a place where they value there customers and appreciate your business.

El Agave will always be one of my favorites. Simply because the food is decent and affordable. But where this place takes in my vote is they still hold the trophy for most affordable Mexican restaurant in Hammond. Decent food for a great price. Which says a lot in today's world and economy.

Food was was pretty good, and the serving size was bigger than expected for the price. The service wasn't bad per say, but it did seem like we were an inconvenience to the server.I would eat there again and hope for a little friendlier service.

The food was very good..we went around lunchtime. We started with the Nacho Supreme (beef) for the appetizer. It was delicious ? ?..then we ordered the steak, shrimp, and chicken fajitas & a beef taco salad. OMG! Man those fajitas were amazing! The beans were good..The rice was good! The salad was good!!..look! Great service, great food! Go check them out. You won't be disappointed..each meal was under $10. What?! Just thank me later☺️

Grabbed lunch here with the hubby. The locals located is a busy yet convenient area of Hammond. Directly next door to Canes. The inside is nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. The food was really good. It was served piping hot, fresh, and delicious. Carnitas were tradition , perfectly cooked, and crave-able. The Chimichangas were crispy and in the meal you get one chicken & one beef. I wasn't a fan of the beans, but the rice was good. All in all, a nice meal at a great price. I'll be back!

Can I say DELICIOUS??!! Wow! Totally unexpected. I was in town on business alone and found my way here. Delighted! Service was fast. I ordered 1 shrimp and 2 carnitas street tacos off menu. Some of the best carnitas I've ever had. Hot salsa was perfect. The bartender was glad to make me a special skinny margarita too! I almost went back again tonight.
