This place is a must stop. First trip to Louisiana and this is the cutest place and the southern hospitality is amazing. Thank you Jeanie for a great experience you are a doll.

First time there.. breakfast was complaints at all. Very reasonable prices. Definitely going back again

Jeanie's has the best bone in fried chicken I've ever eaten, it's not like everyone else's fried chicken, it's well-seasoned and juicy, and the chicken isn't over battered. And let me just say, their SO far ahead of anyone else's....the ham, cotto salami, genoa salami and mortadella are cooked....a great olive salad on top, lots of olive oil on the bread....just warmed up...NOT cooked to a brick. Quite frankly, it puts everyone else's to shame...including the one over across Lake Pontchartain...not gonna mention names....but you know the one everyone brags on....only reason they brag on that one, is they haven't tasted Ms. Jeanie's!!! So far, these are the only things I've purchased....Wait....I forgot....the cole slaw is ABSO_FREAKIN_LUTELY incredible!!! Jeanie's is definitely well worth the trip!!!

Absolutely lovely food. Beautiful people and great atmosphere. Thanks for the welcome. Please stop here and not at any of the chain rubbish that's in the area.

Quaint cafe with small town/country decor. We wanted breakfast but they were on the lunch menu when we arrived. Still, the waitress checked with the kitchen and found some things left so we could get some sausage biscuits. They were very good - the best we have found in the town. We were happy they accommodated us. The coffee was good, strong, and flavorful. The breakfast menu is pretty traditional but the omelettes look good. Daily specials, burgers, etc. Will go back again.

Wow! What a find. My wife and I were on our way to Mississippi from Texas and decided to stop for lunch at Jeanie’s. Our server was great (the owner’s daughter, I think) and the food was amazing. I had the fried catfish which was wonderful, but what I can’t stop talking about was the fantastic Cole slaw. By far the best I have ever tasted. The flavor was perfect as was the way the ingredients were prepared. If you think you don’t like Cole slaw because of others you’ve tasted, try theirs and I’m sure you’ll be singing a different tune. We’ll have to plan our next trip and time it just right to hit Jeanie’s again.

I ordered the fried catfish my daughter ordered Willie G wings.. waitress was a good girl .. After 30 min I asked where the food was the waitress said it to much longer .. 45 min later the food showed up.. I asked little behind in the kitchen? She said , To be honest I'm not supposed to Say this but we were still waiting on the truck with the cat fish .. food was good but no Apologies from the owner .. As we check out JEANINE ( owner) said how was everything , I replied food took a long time .. her reply was at least it was fresh right? And then she said how did it taste when it did get there .. So I told the owner the waitress said you guys were still Waiting on the truck. She said oh no she much have meant we were still waiting on fish to be defrosted, the entire time she keep Laughing not apologizing And told a straight up Lie .. I believe the waitress We will not return to this place where the owner shows no honesty no integrity.. Honesty would have been Aceptable to me .. Hope the waitress does not get into trouble...

What a great little hidden secret. Food is awesome. Family owned and run. The owner walks around and visits with everyone. She is so sweet.

Hello, I wanted to say, this is the first time visiting Jennie's. The food was very good; I would recommend anyone to visit Jennie's. They serve breakfast and lunch. Open 7-AM to 2 PM. Very hospitable and comforting. Reminded me of the CAFE's from the years gone by...

Her Seafood is of the highest quality, locally sourced. Tonight the oysters were so favorable. You can't get better prepared Seafood. She is only open Friday nights during Lent.
