Love the breakfast and just realized that they serve lunch! I will try lunch soon! The staff is very friendly and helpful! The volume can be a little loud because they are always busy! The food is delicious! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Some booth seats need some TLC as they are worn from so many butts in them. This is a place that you can always count on a great meal!

Delicious Grits!!! You must try the huge bowl with ample shrimp and bacon. My husband ate the Gringos which was tortilla with ham and cheese. Service was great!!! You must try this place in Hammond!!!

Cute, not fancy. Grits were great. The Chiquita waffles very sweet but delicious. Our other two just had the basic breakfast and it was adequate. Service was excellent, safety protocols in place. It is in beautiful historic downtown, parking is on street.

Delicious home cooked breakfast. Fried potatoes were an excellent side to my omelette. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the restaurant could use a good deep cleaning. Lots of thick dust on items and bathroom needs attention.

My friend and I decided to meet at the Yellow Bird Cafe on Monday morning. This is a small, locally owned cafe in downtown Hammond LA. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choices on the menu. The coffee is good and "keeps a coming" ! Our waitress was pleasant and was definitely a "home town" lady who made Yellow Bird feel like home. The pancakes had a great flavor (you do know that not all pancake batter is created equal) so don't worry about the taste, the pancakes and syrup were great!! Have an omelette because I think that is their specialty .

Enjoyed a nice lunch here with my daughter. Sweet little establishment in Downtown Hammond. Salad was large and fresh, my egg dish was recommended by our waitress. There were so many options I couldn’t make up my mind. Lots of Latin influences on menu.
