My experience with Lafayette Regional Airport is limited to business meetings with the Aviation Board; therefore, I have never flown into or out of this airport. However, I have been here enough times to appreciate the location of this regional airport, as if you are willing to pay a little extra, you can fly into Lafayette and save yourself 2.5 hours of driving if you had flown into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Small airport. I think they might have a total of 4 gates. They were quick to get us through security (you will have to take all liquids, shoes, laptops, etc out for scanning). Staff was friendly. It is a small airport so not many food/drink options, but they do have two different stations.
