We absolutely love this restaurant!! We've been several times and it has always been amazing. It's a fantastic place for a romantic evening out. The consistently delicious food and the intimate ambiance really set the scene for a memorable date night experience. The service is top tier as well.

In my previous review, I mistakenly only gave La Truffe four stars instead of five. This fixes my mistake.

"Even when the sun goes down Your sweet smile lights up the sky Even with the darkest of nights Your big blue eyes glimmer among the stars Even when the wind takes us by storm Your incredible strength stands tall with the mountains Even with the hardest of days Your mirthful laughter brings withering flowers to bloom Even when the leaves start changing colors Your warm embrace comforts the waning moon Even with the passing of seasons Your unconditional love is steadfast with the present time" Some words that poured from my heart for the love of my life after we enjoyed the most romantic dinner. Earlier in the day, bae out of the blue messages me to pack our bag for a surprise roadtrip! He doesn't tell me where we are going but that he booked a hotel and has a place in mind for dinner. We ended up in Lake Charles for a 7pm reservation at La Truffe Sauvage. We were warmly greeted and sat down at a corner table topped with a single yellow rose for the evening. If you didn't know, yellow roses are my favorite! It was definitely fate that brought us there. We began the night with their warm complimentary bread and an order of their beef carpaccio with the fluffiest truffle potato chip I've ever had. What came next was their breadcrumb crusted goat cheese laying beautifully on a bed of spinach. Followed by their creamed artichoke soup hidden under a cloud of puffed pastry. For entrees, we shared their crispy snapper and fresh tagliatelle with shrimp. All in all, an incredible meal. Everything was perfect with the person sitting next to me, all the love in the air, combined with an impeccable meal, a girl couldn't ask for more. The only letdown of the night was that we were too full for dessert. I'll just have to meet their soufflé in my dreams tonight. -Sailor out

One of the best meals I've ever had out. The filet was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth with a fantastic wine reduction sauce that enhanced the flavor of the steak without overpowering it. Grand Marnier soufflé, indescribable, so light and delicious. Best dessert I've ever eaten, hands down, no comparison. My only complaint is this restaurant has limited hours and sometimes it is not open when I really want to eat there. It's the only place I want to eat when visiting Lake Charles.

Best restaurant in Lake Charles when it comes to food and wine selection. The service is excellent also. I haven't had a bad dish there so I would recommend the whole menu to everyone visiting.

We ate at La Truffe Sauvage this weekend and it was really good. To start with for drinks, my husband had an Old Fashioned and I had a mojito. We're both usually two drink people but we weren't really feeling like getting drinks that night. I like my mojito (and all my cocktails) to be sweet, like really sweet hehehe but this was good! Not an overpowering amount of mint. It was very refreshing! We both had lobster bisque to start. It was beautiful! The pastry on top of it was so stunning and tasty. The bisque itself was very flavorful. I could taste the lobster flavor, but it didn't have lobster in it- some bisques do and some don't. Had I known there was no lobster in it I probably would've gotten the scallops for an appetizer. My entree was red snapper with lump crab and steamed potatoes. It also had capers in the sauce. The top of the snapper was so crispy it was like he fried it. I ran my fork across the top of it and could hear the crispyness. I love that the chef didn't put the sauce on top of the snapper and make it not as crisp lol. The steamed potatoes were not really my thing, as I discovered, but they were okay. My entree was good, although I like a touch more salt on the snapper for my tastes, which is a personal preference thing. My husband's halibut was amazing! My husband had the special: halibut with beet pasta and shrimp. The halibut was out of this world flavorful- perfectly seasoned. It was our first time trying halibut. I just recently started eating fish. My husband couldn't finish his halibut so I felt it was my duty to eat the rest of it ?. I preferred his meal to mine, but they were both delicious. For dessert we had a Grand Marnier souffle with creme anglaise. We had to order it with our dinner to make sure it wasn't going to be a long wait while it was baking. It was probably one of the best desserts I've (I think, maybe, both of us) ever had. Very light and fluffy, yet rich. It had a light citrus flavor. It was one of those times when you want to lick the plate but realize that in polite society one doesn't do such things ???Oh, and they brought us some truffles with the check. Be still my heart. They were coconut, hazelnut truffles. Something like that. Delish! The presentation of everything was beautiful. That's a big part of the meal for me, not gonna lie. The staff was very attentive- they made sure our water was always full and checked to see if we needed anything else. They always checked to make sure everything tasted good. Honestly that counts for a lot for me. I hate going to a place where what they do is only for how much money they make and they don't care about the customer experience. We both really felt that they wanted us to enjoy our dining experience. Every staff member there worked together for the benefit of the customer. Different people came to our table to check on us, refill drinks, and thank us for being there throughout the course of our meal. If you're ever in Lake Charles, Louisiana, definitely give them a try!I always think about whether I would go back to a place or not when there are other restaurants that we could try. I would definitely go back here to try some of their other items. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed in your fine dining experience. It's fine dining so you will spend a little more than at other places. Keep that in mind.If anyone from the restaurant is reading this, thank you ALL for welcoming us, taking amazing care of us, and making our dining experience one to remember.

This is the best restaurant in LC by a mile! It’s not even close. LTS could be successfully in any city in the US. It’s a treat to eat there. Soufflé is truly mandatory. You’ll never have better.

Fantastic food, fresh ingredients and all cooked to order. Desserts are out of this world. Hands down the most unique menu in Lake Charles.
