Variety of products such as andouille sausage, smoked chicken, smoked chicken sausage, smoked sausage, smoked leg quarters, hog head cheese, smoked turkey necks, and etc. Their smoked meats are game changers for Cajun dishes like gumbo, jambalaya, pastalaya, and etc.

When living in Arizona, in the middle of the summer heat, we ordered a solid amount of sausages, jerky, and bacon to bring with on a camping trip in the rockies. It was utterly delightful to wake up, eat gourmet smoked bacon fresh from a campfire and watch the sun rise. The package arrived well packed, still very cool, and the customer service was top notch in answering all questions and concerns with shipping and heat. I have an unbelievable story about the boundless generosity of this establishment that NEEDS to be known by anyone considering buying their andouille here.About 20 years ago, I was let go from my job at the hubcap factory in Denham Springs. No matter what I did, my hubcaps always came out too small and wouldn’t be secured tight enough when installed. My boss, a military man who knew hubcaps, had no choice but to let me go. I was angry and hurt, feeling like a failure. In spite, I decided if I couldn’t make things tight enough, I would dedicate myself to helping people loosen them.I ended up becoming a door-to-door hardware salesman, specializing in screwdrivers. I was interested in selling only the best: screwdrivers that produced enough torque and leverage to loosen ANY screw. I know that sounds ridiculous, and let me tell you - after a tough few weeks, I began to feel ridiculous too. Nobody cared about my product and I was having no luck. I had spent the measly savings I had leftover from my hubcap job on my sales stock, and was all in. If I couldn’t find a way to sell these screwdrivers, I would have to go home and face my wife and kids, admit my failure, and likely lose everything precious to me.I set a deadline for myself. If I couldn’t make a sale by the end of the week, I would spare my family the burden of my existence in this world by ending it.No matter where I went and what I tried, every single door was slammed in my face. Late afternoon on a Friday, I decided in a last act of desperation to try my luck at some businesses in Laplace along 61. After being turned down by countless businesses including even the Take 5 Oil Change, I decided I could muster up a smile to try one more location. I was guided to Jacob’s World Famous Andouille. With all the energy I had left, I gathered myself and pushed through the front door.Two minutes into pitching the owner, I felt like a heel. What was I doing here? They obviously had no need for what I was selling. I paused for a brief moment and then acknowledged “I’m sorry, I’m wasting your time.” I turned around to leave, and the owner called out to me.“Cole, wait. When I look into your eyes, I can see a dedicated, hard-working family man. That is something that should be revered and honored. I’ll tell you what - I’ll take everything you have right now. Just pull your truck up around the back.”I was stunned. With tears in my eyes, I searched for words to no avail. The owner went on.“You don’t need to say anything. I can tell these tools will serve a good purpose.”Flabbergasted, I stumbled out to my truck and pulled around the back. The owner wrote the check and handed it to me through the truck window. I unloaded my entire stock into their storage shed. After thanking them, I stepped back into my truck to pull away.“Hold up there, Cole. I have something to send you away with.”The owner called out to his son, whispered in his ear, and I watched in disbelief as he proceeded to load all of the screwdrivers I had sold him back into my truck.“Did you change your mind? Is this a joke?”“No. You can keep the money. I’d like to make a donation in kind to your business.”With my jaw on the floor, I watched as they not only gave back every new screwdriver, but they also contributed every screwdriver they owned - there must have been two dozen flatheads and a few crowbars as well. They did this without any thought of them being left without any screwdrivers for the time being. With a nod and a handshake, they sent me away with a new appreciation for humanity and the world we live in - and not to mention, some fresh andouille straight from the smoker.Jacob’s World Famous Andouille saved my self-esteem, my marriage, my family, and even my life. I'm sure the product here is ok, maybe even pretty good. I don't know what I do know is I never forgot that afternoon in 2003 when I caught a flat tire on my way home from school. I knew how to change my tire but my car had a hub cap on it that I couldn't get off with my bare hands. Since I pulled over in front of this business I went inside and asked if they had a flathead or anything I could use to pry the hubcap off. I was offered no assistance and was told no. I was embarrassed and had to sit and wait until my Military father had to come from an hour away just to simply help me pry the hub cap off. I never forgot this and I would hope this business has better compassion and customer service 20 years later.

Simply the ONLY andouille worth adding to your recipes. It makes such a difference to add quality ingredients and this is it. Added to gumbo, jambalaya, arroz con pollo, ramen or red beans & rice, this is the andouille to use.The ladies get it to you fast, but it's shipped in regular packaging, not cold-shipped. I've never gotten sick but also, I don't order in the summertime. My 2 wishes:- cold shipping in hot months - online ordering system. I don't mind emailing my order and processing payment over the phone with a live person, but it does seem very antiquated when there are so many great e-commerce solutions available, like Wix
