Guy's is my favorite po'boy shop in the Garden District. Haven't been here in a few years, and although the layout has changed a bit, the shrimp po'boy is just the same. Wish I could be there more often.

Hands down the best Po Boy of all of NOLA! Guy's is always on the itinerary when we are in town. Their Po Boys are always over stuffed, perfectly seasoned and fresh. Bread is crispy yet soft. Lines can be very long and seated is limited, recommend going right when they open or outside of peak lunch hours.

Really good po' boys!! Place is small so seating is at a premium!

Guy's is a nice pop-in Po-Boy stop. It's a small family business with nice charm. The shrimp Po-Boy was nice and full. They have good dressings. I left with a big happy belly.

We shared the Roast Beef Po Boy(small 8"), an order of French fries, and a 20 ounce bottle of Barq's Zero Sugar. It was $21 total. The portions were good and everything tasted delicious. My biggest issue was the space. It is very tight and cramped in there. The line to order can't really go anywhere because of the tables and chairs. Then, we had to stand around and wait for 15 to 20 minutes for them to call my name. When that happens, you have to wade through the people still waiting to order. It's a poor setup. And, since it was so busy, we had to sit on a bench outside and eat. Not ideal, but we made it work. I'm glad we got to try it, but not amazing enough to go back.

The po-boys are delicious here, but the gumbo is simply amazing. They load the po-boys up, especially the shrimp, so they are worth it. This is definitely one of the best po-boy shops on Magazine and an anchor for the neighborhood.

So I got my kicks out of reading some of these negative reviews. Running a business is difficult because most great business owners do their very best to please their customers. Some of the negative reviews posted sound as though they are just coming from people who were having a bad day to start with, then came into this establishment, and didn't get one thing their way, and decided to start on a bashing rant. For other reviews, it sounds like people don't understand what a poboy is, and/or have never had one prior to having one at this place. I am from New Orleans, but live on the westbank of New Orleans, and will say that from me and my family's perspective, you can NOT, find a better shrimp poboy in the city. We like all of the poboys here, but the shrimp is hands down the best. No other shop provides you will a bigger, nor more delicious stuffed poboy. Yes, the poboys are a little pricier, but there are tons of shrimps on these poboys, AND, they are shareable. My husband and I will split a long poboy two ways and will be satisfied. With me and my daughters, I will get a long and have it split three ways, and we are all happy. Don't forget the sweet tea they brew because you wont find a better brew ANYWHERE!
