Been there a few times. Sometimes it feels their beignet is better than cafe du Monde. They have almond dessert which is also very good. I also had gumbo. It was okayish.

Stopped in on one of our last days in NOLA wanting to try beignets from various locations. First off, there are multiple Cafe Beignet locations throughout New Orleans. The one we visited was just a short walk from another location, but was not nearly as busy. The St. Peter location has a quaint courtyard to enjoy your beignets and coffee. The beignets at Cafe Beignet are quite large, and one order comes with three beignets (for $3.99). Also unlike other beignet shops, Cafe Beignet takes credit. However, having previously had beignets and cafe au lait at a different beignet location, we were slightly underwhelmed by these. They were not as fluffy or airy and did not have as much powdered sugar to our liking. However, the location is nice, service was quick, and staff was friendly. They also serve other food options, so if you are in the mood for something along with your beignet this is the place to visit.

Don't even bother going to Cafe Du Monde and waiting in that long line! This place is AMAZING! Alton Brown loved it and so did we! We waited like 15 minutes and worth it! Go!

Incredible beignets and with 4 locations, you'll be near one when the hunger strikes! In this particular location, I was graced with self-playing piano and the sounds of ragtime. Very cool place for a coffee and sweets.

Wonderful beignets! We also had the andouille omlette that was delicious as well. Nice atmosphere in the quaint cafe. My only problem was they ordering system was a bit clogged in relationship with the restaraunt's diminsions. They could have used a bit more staff on hand as well. But overall definitely worth a stop. If for nothing else but the beignets.

These were definitely the best beignets we had during our trip to New Orleans. We had beignets in lots of different locations, and these were the lightest and fluffiest. They also have calas, another fried New Orleans treat. Calas are difficult to find so it was great to have the opportunity to try them (though they weren't really our cup of tea). We also had a bagel sandwich and croissant sandwich which were both solid options. It's a cute little spot with the player piano to provide a bit of ambience. There are only 6-8 tables inside but many more in the courtyard.
