Quiet little cafe in the bottom of the Ponchatrain hotel. Really good coffee. The broken yolk sandwich is tasty. Cheddar grits just right. Opens at 7am.

The place is super cute. The ceiling was an art piece all on its own. Had hot coffee with their frittata. It was okay. Not what I was expecting after having Avenue Cafe frittata. I did enjoy the fresh vegetables in it though. My husband had their blood orange juice ( bottled) which was very good and the broken egg sandwich. Personally I liked his meal better than mine. But the staff was wonderful and it’s a great vibe.

I like how they don’t have a bunch of menu items. They pick a couple items and make them well. The servers were nice, but they could do to speak louder. I really liked the decorations. Very instagramable.
Vegetarian options: They have a lot of milk substitute options, but the vegetarian dishes aren’t labeled. I don’t think they have any vegan options.
Dietary restrictions: None of the stuff has nuts unlessIt literally says it has nuts in the title or description. They have a lot of keto options. Lots of dairy substitutes too.
Parking: There’s a parking garage right next to the building, plus street parking.
Kid-friendliness: They don’t have many kid friendly menu options. Most of the food is catered towards an adult palate.
Wheelchair accessibility: The tables are really close and the way to the bathroom has stairs. It would be pretty hard for someone with a wheelchair to navigate.

The egg white frittata was full of perfectly cooked veggies, seasoned to perfection and spritzed with lemon...... Bright, light, yet filling.... Did I say perfect?!I had to get it to go, but if you can stop in and sit down I think you'll be glad you did.The person at the counter gave me a quick run down of which foods would travel best and was kind & helpful.

Got a $4 latte that tasted like it was from a gas station cappuccino vending machine.

This place is permanently closed. The building is not even there anymore!!
Came here today for the first time and got an iced latte with an extra shot and a side of grits. Everything was really good. Nice staff, very quiet, charming place. Very reasonable prices too. Will be back!

Restaurantji Recommends
Im so confused by the mixed reviews, because my husband and I just had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We went in with zero expectations and we were eating breakfast here out of convenience (staying at the hotel.) We both got the broken yolk sandwich and grits and I can’t stop thinking about the grits, lol. They looked like a lump but then when I bit into them they were super fluffy and cheesy and honestly some of the best grits I’ve ever had. We also got a flat white and London fog and both were made well. It became our go-to coffee in the morning before we would go out and explore New Orleans.

A very decent little spot in the Pontchartrain Hotel. The food was pretty good, the coffee was pretty good, the service was okay, I suppose. I don't have any complaints, it just isn't really anything to write home about. It feels like a restaurant at an airport. Also, it is a very limited menu.
Vegetarian options: Not really sure.
Dietary restrictions: Some accommodations might be made.
Parking: Some street parking nearby. Valet available to hotel guests.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome they just might be disappointed.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible.

Quite disappointing service. I was eager to have breakfast here as my last experience here in 2018 was wonderful, but the second time lacked the charm. 35 minute wait for cold eggs, and the grits that I’d ordered weren’t accompanied (nor was the lemon I’d asked for my water and my friend’s herbal tea). My friend ordered a simple toast. The toast was served cold and took 35 minutes. My other friend received his complete order, but after having waited so long for our food, he had to get a to-go box. From what I could see of his grits (since mine never arrived) they were quite dense and served in a lump—looked more like a scoop of ice cream. There were two service members taking and serving orders, and neither seemed particularly concerned about the wait time or our dissatisfaction with the service. Our server brought the lemon with the check. It wasn’t unusually busy. I’d hate to think that service was intentionally bad to discourage black patrons from returning, but I wouldn’t be surprised. My friends and I are all professionals, but we were dressed casually.Unfortunately, I would not dine here again.

The ambience was great, the food was very very tasty, the service, the music, inside Pontchartrain hotel location. Close street parking and valet both available.
