Toast is just a wealth of information. It's amazing to me how an individual can teach and entertain so effectively! The splendid homes and architecture of this beautiful district in New Orleans was explained with intelligence..as well as enthusiasm and humor. The food was very good and so was the service.The portions were very large. We ate there two mornings and could not finish all on our plate. The service was attentive and professional. In spite of the fact that the tables were clean both days, they were tacky to the touch; not sure why but it was a little off-putting. I would definitely return!
In a city brimming with atmosphere, Toast brings it to a new level; they took an old corner building and, even after renovation, managed to retain a lot of its former character which lends itself well to a great restaurant. Everything on the menu seems to be an idea straight from the kitchen (it's one of the few places I've seen that incorporates fried catfish with breakfast) and they never disappoint, as evident from their constantly can't-miss specials.
