They Turkey Wings Suck !! Not enough seasoning and they boil the wings first. If u want great wings go to Cajun on Claiborne Ave.

Came here to eat cheap good food. The gumbo was super duper yummy! The shrimp pasta was super creamy but unfortunately it had a crunch to it so I was worried maybe shell pieces were left in and just when we we were about done eating it one of the noodles had a hair in it ??????? there is a small parking lot outside, the restaurant accepts cash, and there is seating inside.

While visiting New Orleans, the hotel concierge was awesome enough to have a nice conversation with me and make some suggestions from the point of view of the locals and not just pointing out the tourist destinations. I was told to go try the gumbo and I was not disappointed. The setup is just like a family owned, homestyle hole in the wall. The food is served cafeteria style. The server was very friendly. I went with the seafood gumbo, the broccoli casserole and the spaghetti. The spaghetti was probably my least favorite of the three, but it was still tasty. The sauce just kinda reminded me of spaghetti-o's. The gumbo rue was soooo good tho. If you want to eat like the locals and have a taste of southern home cooking, I recommend Today's Cajun.

This was a find strictly using the old Google/Yelp fingers. I had been speaking with some locals about "The Old Sober" aka - Yaka Mein and began looking for places nearby that served it. After checking photos and reviews I decided that Today's Cajun Seafood was the one I wanted to try. I ordered a beef Yaka Mein, A pork boudin, and a crawfish pie. We had just gotten poured on and I was so looking forward to this hot food. There were a few little tables inside, but this is definitely more geared towards takeout. Either way, we ate it there.

That Yaka Mein was everything I had hoped it would be. The beef was tender and there was plenty of it, it came with one boiled egg but I added a second one and next time I may even add a third, the noodles were cooked well, there were a lot of scallions, and the broth was hot and flavorful. Literally all I wanted out of that dish, I got. The crawfish pie was fantastic too...I don't think I'll ever go back here without getting another one of those too. Delicious fragrant mix inside of a pastry shell and fried up...exactly what you'd expect it to be. The boudin was good but honestly unremarkable, I probably would pass on that next time and try some more stuff out.

I came back again only to get disappointed, not about food but the owner only gave me 3 shrimps in the pasta within the last corner of the food plate. Food hygiene here is not the best as I have stomachache right after eating but supposed this is how it is.

Recommended by local. As I took a walk to Frenchman street I spotted it just on the way and decided to give a shot. OMG I can’t recommend their seafood gumbo enough! It is not super salty and goes with very flavorful broth and ingredients! One of the top gumbo I have had in life. The shrimp pasta is yummy and not salty to my surprise. I love how they customize to small portions which allow me to try various dishes without being overly stuffed as I have very sensitive digestion.

Definitely a mom and pop serving genuine southern home food, not a tourist trap!

Food was awful. The salisbury smells like dog food & a taste like it. The cheese tasted awful for the pasta. I ordered casserole, wasnt even casserole. Taste like it was straight out of the can. I will be contanting corporate. Because my son and my fiance got sick right afterwards.

Clean and though the ladys are asian and barely speak English they catered and understood my needs. There should be no excuses for anyone.
