I don’t want to give Ba Le a bad review but growing up around the restaurant they have changed the BBQ beef. It’s always cold now and the sandwich just tastes bad cold. The bread used to be toasted to order and the beef used to taste fresh. Now the beef is served cold and makes the whole sandwich taste not as good as it used to be. It might be a safety thing but I missed the old way of when it was served with the OG lady.

Ugh best coffee and banh mi in town but man I hate how cheap these Vietnamese workers act as if we're in Vietnam. So much aggression when requesting for extra butter in the banh mi. I've been a customer here for 20 years and it's always been like this that's why I don't come a lot. Like charge me for it or put less meat on. Don't tell me that it's enough if I say add more then just do it for gods sake. I even had a friend ask for more butter and the lady said it would make her fat. Ordered on uber eats where you can pay an extra 50cents for more butter and still had a dry ass banh mi. Stop acting so goddamn cheap

Be prepared for the folks behind the counter to not speak English. I wasn’t but fortunately a nice woman in line took mercy on me and my Little Brother. We wondered into this place after going to the JFK Presidential Library. Based on my translator’s recommendation I got the Bahn Mi #2, grilled steak, which was wonderful! I keep thinking about the combo of sweet, hot peppers, cilantro and whatever other delicious stuff they put in there. Hope to be back!

Great bahn mi sandwiches with a great selection of Asian snacks! Can't leave without trying a beverage from their juice bar area. My go-to's are the sugar drink ( you can see the pure sugar cane stalks they use for the beverages) or the water melon smoothie.

So we have ordered bahn mi from here several times and they have always been impeccable, but my most recent visit was the first time I grabbed items from along the hot bar. We basically got a bunch of stuff without having any idea what it was, and then spent a lot of time on google afterwards trying to deduct what the heck it was we just ate. I'm sure if we had asked the counter folk to give us more information they would have, but it was busy and bustling and I didn't want to hold anyone up. Plus I like the sense of adventure!! Whatever we got, it was all delicious and all (besides the obligatory bahn mi) completely different from anything I've had before at a sit down Vietnamese restaurant. Failed to take pictures, but I *think* we tried a rice paper salad, some kind of meat wrapped in betel leaves, some kind of delicious dumpling-esque item, and CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT THE PORK FLOSS BUN?? The most interesting and delicious thing I've tried in a long time. Took me forever to find what it was by looking at images of the bakery shelves on yelp and xrefing with the google searches of what I *thought* I was eating... you could have paid me a million dollars and I would have never guessed it was pork on top of that bun but dang was it delicious!! Anyway, it's take out only, the line moves quick, it could feel intimidating if you have no idea what you're doing but trust me, get something random and be surprised!! Or grab the thing that looks like a donut with seaweed on top, that bun is amazing.

It's like a little slice of Vietnam in a market. I'm always so exited to go and buy all the authentic viet foods that I can't get near me. They have all the snacks and goodies I grew up eating. And they have the best banh mi in and around Boston. Possibly the best in New England. I've yet to meet a better banh mi. The lines can look daunting but these women crank those sandwiches out like a well oiled machine. Anyway, I love it here. You gotta get the OG Dac Biet banh mi but snag yourself a bbq beef as well.

A bit crowded almost always. The Banh mi sandwiches are a primary reason everyone goes here. Staff can be a bit rude at times when asking for special requests with how you’d like your food to be prepared.
