This is a solid dinner restaurant in the South End. It definitely has a buzzy vibe and is great for a group of friends. They start out by giving you delicious bread. They have a dedicated mocktail menu which I really appreciated. I had the trout as my main which I really loved! Even though it came with the tail and skin on, it was very easy to dissect and was really enjoyable. I tried the chocolate mousse for dessert which was good (but not the best one I've ever had). Overall, I would recommend giving this restaurant a try!

French dishes are know for their small portion, so I ordered two dishes tonight to feed myself. Quenelles de brochet really tastes like my homemade steam eggs. I don't know whether it means good or bad. The La burger is also small, but it is really good. Slow-cooked pork belly adds some additional compound texture and flavor besides Angus beef, which is pretty impressive. The service is pretty warm. I think this will be a perfect spot for a dating night. Be aware that since two dishes are a recommended size for one, it becomes a little pricey.

Back after the pandemic. Food is as good, and rich as ever, but the price point is a bit out of control. Onion soup (or soupe) is $16. Glass of wine starts at $14, etc. More of a special occasion these days, unless you own Moderna stock. Will return, but not as frequently as before.

Just finished a great meal at Bar Lyon. Wonderful service from the start. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Bartender and waitstaff very attentive. Food was delicious and presented very nicely. The restaurant was very clean. Great atmosphere. I will visit again next time I am in Boston.

The service here is excellent. The host was really kind to us and we were helped right away. I got the tomato bisque. It was good BUT much too salty. I also got the Cornish hen-- same thing. Good flavor but over salted. Our server Rodrigo went above and beyond. He brought us free dessert due to the salty experience. I would come here again for the great service (shoutout to Rodrigo) and cross my fingers that the chef just had a bad salty day lol

Fantastic French food and atmosphere. On the pricey side and somewhat small portions.

The food was delicious, the service was perfect. We enjoyed our evening out and will definitely go back. My only complaint is that there are only two choices for dessert. I personally don't appreciate chocolate mousse or creme caramel.

This is the best French restaurant I have eaten in Boston so far. Foods are amazing and affordable. The staffs are nice and friendly. Service was good!! I really enjoy my date in this restaurant. I definitely will come back again. BTW you must try the duck confit and the truffle fries. Best fries I have ever eaten!!! Delicious food here! Recommend this place.

There are so many French restaurants in Boston but this one is the best. The food is delicious and authentically french, the service is friendly and very professional. We can’t wait to go back already! (Definitely try the gougères when you go)

The fish I had was too buttery and salty in my opinion. The chocolate mousse dessert was delicious though. Nice atmosphere I do feel the food was a little overpriced for what I got but it was a nice Sunni g experience. Probably wouldn't order the fish again since i just felt that the fish was covered in butter.

I liked this place. Some dishes are indeed French and others are Americanized-French. Everything we had was good. There was a very strange and unusual reaction from the chef to our request to turn an appetizer into an entree sized dish (by doubling it) which left a bit of a weird taste in our mouths (pun intended) however the server was very friendly and recovered the vibe well.

My wife is French, and we have been to nearly all French restaurants in the area. Bar Lyon is one of the best. Service is professional and helpful. Dishes are authentic. Good wine list. No rushing. In addition to table service, there is an excellent bar, where you can also dine.
