This is the best French restaurant I have eaten in Boston so far. Foods are amazing and affordable. The staffs are nice and friendly. Service was good!! I really enjoy my date in this restaurant. I definitely will come back again. BTW you must try the duck confit and the truffle fries. Best fries I have ever eaten!!! Delicious food here! Recommend this place.
There are so many French restaurants in Boston but this one is the best. The food is delicious and authentically french, the service is friendly and very professional. We can’t wait to go back already! (Definitely try the gougères when you go)
I liked this place. Some dishes are indeed French and others are Americanized-French. Everything we had was good. There was a very strange and unusual reaction from the chef to our request to turn an appetizer into an entree sized dish (by doubling it) which left a bit of a weird taste in our mouths (pun intended) however the server was very friendly and recovered the vibe well.
My wife is French, and we have been to nearly all French restaurants in the area. Bar Lyon is one of the best. Service is professional and helpful. Dishes are authentic. Good wine list. No rushing. In addition to table service, there is an excellent bar, where you can also dine.
We came here for our anniversary dinner. The service was very good. I let them know of my allergy and they were super accommodative. I ordered the duck confit and my boyfriend ordered the steak. They were all delicious. The only downside is that the place was a little crowded and loud.
In Boston got the weekend and came across the restaurant as I did a quick search for restaurants serving quenelle which is a delicacy from Lyon, France and hard to come by. When we arrived I was a bit nervous as the outside of the restaurant didn’t look like anything special (would never walk by here and think oh this place looks nice). Once inside everything was perfect! The ambiance, the style, the cleanliness, the service, the prices and oh man the food! We had the steak tartar, River trout with brown butter (to die for!), quenelle, frites, side salad, carafe of house wine, dessert. When I say everything was excellent, I mean it! And there still was prob 12 things I still wanted on the menu. If we lived in Boston this would be one of our favorites however instead it will just be a restaurant we recommend to friends when we hear they are coming to Boston. Can’t recommend enough.
New favorite restaurant!!!! Ordered the fois gras, burger, and quenelle de brochet. Everything was DELICIOUS! The staff were so attentive, friendly, and wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful as well - can't wait to come back!
One of the top restaurants in Boston. Don’t miss out on this incredible Lyonnaise cuisine restaurant, along with their great cocktails and wine selection. Already planning on coming back next week for another delicious meal!
We had dinner here last night and were truly blown away. The food was superb. Every single dish was cooked to perfection. The flavors were diverse and beautiful. We could eat at this restaurant every night! Our waiter, Sean, was also fantastic!!! He was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. Thank you for a great Friday night to all at Bar Lyon!
amazing food amazing ambience! so sad to see it's temporarily closed. hope to see it will re-open!! my husband and I we love this place
Bar Lyon you are most certainly terrific, I had an incredible experience here today. Great menu, great people, great atmosphere and great times. Bar Lyon has a wonderful French Onion Soup, this was my very first time giving it a try here, and I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Everyone was helpful and personable. Bar Lyon... Thanks and keep up the good work.
The homemade pasta with chicken was amazing. Side veggies were too salty. Overall, good food and service!
Amazing restaurant. Truly a staple in the area. I can’t necessarily suggest just one thing on the menu because it is all, for the most part, very good. I would suggest the duck confit...muah! You should definitely go if you love in the city and haven’t already. If you’re a tourist and have some $$ to drop, definitely go.
This place is pretty cool. We had made a reservation but the place is pretty big with seats at the bar as well. The food and drinks were delicious and our server was attentive. We got the chicken liver parfait and the duck for starter and both were amazing. We then got the mussels and the fries and the fries was really good but the mussels were just fine. They were still good don't get me wrong but everything was amazing up until that point so we had the same expectations for the mussels. I would definitely go back and try some of the other things on the menu
At the recommendation of the host I got the Lyon Classic: Quenelle de Brochet. The sauce was so buttery and savory. The dumpling was soft and satisfying. Would highly recommend to share. And there's an abundance of sauce so save your bread to dip!
