This restaurant is amazing, my favorite in Boston. We loved the meatballs, ragu, the NY strip steak, the panna cotta, and the cocktails. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sauce and accompaniments really make the dish shine. The service is impeccable, with new dishes between each course, timely service, and all around professionalism. I’ve gotten the orchiette pasta before and this time it wasn’t as I remembered - it had a bit of a charred flavor. We mentioned this, and we had a replacement dish in no less than 90 seconds. Truly impressive! The manager, Tyler, is an absolute delight, and apologized personally. He also brought us a lovely wine pairing with our pana cotta desert, which also included a candle and congratulations card, as I was celebrating that evening. I feel you really cannot go wrong with this restaurant, everything is impeccable and so worth it.

I have been to Bar Mezzana many times and had pretty solid experiences with the exception of this Sunday that I came for brunch. I was in between the Egg sandwich and the chicken sandwich, I asked our waiter for a recommendation and he suggested the chicken sandwich; I specifically asked if it was chicken breast and he said yes. We get our food I bite into it and surprise! The chicken was a tight not a breast. I ended up only eating the top of the bun and the cheese and left so disappointed... I would have said something but being with a bigger group and the fact that our server only came back to ask how the food looked when it was just served and not after we started eating made it pretty difficult. Anyway, I cannot stress the importance of knowing the menu enough; this definitely ruined my experience and will not come back. Brunch drinks are pretty good.

Excellent food. Had the fried olives - very tasty. The chicken under a brick was delicious. I tried my sons's pasta and it was very good. I also tried the tortellini with sausage and it was very good. Great atmosphere and service.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Boston so far (I am from NYC). The aji crudo was so fresh and delicious. They use good quality olive oil and the focaccia was fantastic. We got the eggplant, goat cheese and honey with the focaccia, which we liked but weren’t blown away by. We also tried the lobster ravioli, which was good, but we felt the ravioli were just too small and that took away from the flavor. We ordered the gnocchi ala vodka with octopus and that was amazing! The tiramisu was also excellent. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice too- what I would describe as modern chic Italian. We enjoyed our cocktails and mocktails. Overall we were pleased and would like to go back to try other things.

Service was okay. Place noise level was fairly high. Food was not to my liking. My options were limited due to shellfish and nuts in most dishes. but went with the fish sandwich. The fish was very bland.Parking: Some street side parking. Mostly paid lots.

Atmosphere and service was great. Flavors of the food were good. However, the pasta did not meet expectations for the price. The gnocchi was was too soft/mushy and the spaghetti was over cooked. Might be willing to try again.

On the atmosphere, it can be a bit loud for anyone that might have a hearing challenge.Other than that food was impeccable, service was super courteous and informed. The place was busy after a long day and every person I talked to couldn't be happier to help. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes and talk to the staff. Had the yellowtail app and the ravioli. Highly recommend.

I had the octopus appetizer, which was perfect and the highlight of my meal. The eggplant rolitini was delicious but over salted. The seafood pasta was pretty good as well. Overall, the food was decent but a bit pricey. Service was great. Attentive and knowledgeable.

Our night started off fine, but once we were done with apps and waiting on mains, it took at least 30 minutes without anyone really acknowledging it. Once someone at our table mentioned it and our food was finally brought out, our waiter disappeared and didn't have anything to do with us after that unless we flagged him down. Very disappointing service.

Pricey, even by today's inflated prices. However, service was impeccable and food delicious. I would go again but think chicken @ $39 is bit over the top. Just be prepared for the pricing and love the experience. I would definitely go again.

Another outstanding evening at Bar Mezzana. This time we chose their “Roman Trattoria” prix fixe experience, which was not only delicious — served with thoughtfulness and friendly enthusiasm — but thoroughly satisfying. (They kindly accommodated a substitution due to a dietary issue.) I think because we had a later reservation on the last night, we were the beneficiaries of open bottles of wine that needed drinking. No complaints! Consistently one of Boston's best.

Server was very sweet but not too attentive. We had a bday note on the res which he confirmed then didn't bring a candle with dessert when the table directly behind us did. That didn't feel super fantastic. The person at the host desk was positively delightful. The food was generally good though the pastas were all a bit overcooked. The skate wing and the octopus were the standouts of the evening.

My wife and I went for a dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived early and our table was available and we were seated right away. We had the tuna crudo and striped bass sashimi, both dishes were fabulous. Light and flavorful, we debated getting another order for dinner. My wife had the orichette , which was full of flavor of fennel and sausage. I opted for a spaghetti special which had king crabmeat on top. Both dishes were top notch . The vibe was energetic for a Saturday night with lively discussions at every table .
