Carrie Nation is a large, classic American restaurant and bar in Beacon Hill that is casual. The service is excellent. One night after work I had to get dinner here, and the maitre'd and wait staff were so helpful in helping me find a good seat and order something appropriate since I had to fuel up to make a big trip across town. The steak is great for the price, too. I highly recommend Carrie Nation for a lunch with co-workers or a place to re-fuel after work.

The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! A must visit when in Boston. The head chefs are the best! ENJOY!

The grill cheese sandwich with a cup of soup is a great value, the sandwich contained a generous amount of cheese and the tomato soup was very good. The serving size of the fish and chips was generous, so a very good value. The fish was cooked perfectly, but the batter was a little under seasoned. The food arrived promptly, and hot. The wait staff was inattentive.

I hosted a private dinner for Boston Sales Leaders in the Beacon Room of Carrie Nation and it was a fantastic experience. The type of dinner I host is tricky because we have people swap tables throughout the dinner. Margie and her staff were super on top of it and stuck to my timing agenda to the T. My 20 dinner attendees loved the food and drinks, which were incredible. Big shout out to Kara and Kelly-Ann, the fantastic waitresses that helped us out. They were both professionals and a delight to work with. Also shout out to Frank, the host, who was an absolute joy.

Thanks again to the team for making our evening such a success! Cheers!

Really great place that commemorates a crazy character from the prohibition era. Atmosphere is really fun and a nice place to catch up with new and old friends.

I had a great birthday party at Carrie Nation! BIG shoutout to Margie who helped secure a space for 20 of my friends to have appetizers and cocktails. Frank at the front desk was exceptionally helpful for pointing all of my guests in the right direction (this place is surprisingly big, so there are plenty of areas to spend time in) and Mattie was a phenomenal server. She paid wonderful attention to us the entire night. The drinks are well-priced and very generous in size, and I LOVE that they often have live music in the front half of Carrie Nation on Saturday nights. There was also a DJ playing in the speakeasy in the back. It was a great time, and I would 100% come again.

This is consistently one of my favorite places to go in Boston. If you're going for food I recommend going early in the evening before it gets busy. I've never had any issue with the food here, it's always been great. The staff have always struck a great balance; by being attentive without being overbearing, that alone is enough to keep me coming back. They have a great selection of cocktails and other drinks; beers and such of course too. The only "issue" I've ever experienced here was perhaps some heavily poured drinks. That would never be a complaint from me however my date on that particular night found her drink difficult to drink. Not to worry, the bartender provided a lighter version of the drink without charge and I had a very wobbly walk to the cab by the end of the night. The pool tables and bar at the back certainly add to the post meal experience, after a great dessert menu to wrap up at the table.

Pretty awesome! Very nice inside. Quiet but not too quiet. Definitely old Boston feel - all the waitresses had awesome Irish/Boston accents when I was there, pretty cool. Good drinks, cheap ($15 unlimited) pool. Definitely recommend

This place is huge and wonderfully decorated. I ordered a caprese sandwich and had low expectations as these tend to be boring... but it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. My colleague ordered a green salad and was similarly shocked that it was excellent. The cocktails were great and served by a friendly bartender. We noticed that in the back there is another room with a pool table and comfy armchairs. Carrie Nation is one of my favorite historical figures so I knew I couldn't miss visiting, just please leave your hatchet at home.

Fantastic meal. Great drinks. And Live Music... This is the ideal combo. Will be coming back MANY times.
