An excellent one-week stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, quiet and bright, modern bathroom. The service (reception, cleaning, etc.) is impeccable. The hotel is very well located (next to BU for families visiting with a child) and very close to all the lively places in Boston. I'll be back! Things ain't what they used to be....I have stayed in the Commonwealth a number of times pre pandemic and always enjoyed it's facilities, great location, excellent food offered by the Eastern Standard and general welcome provided by the staff. Sadly my visit early Feb offered a different hotel experience: Great front desk staff, but the rooms feel a little tired, no water provided in the fridge, no iron in the room, no breakfast other than the in house room service which is ok-ish but gone is the Eastern Standard level. Staff within the kitchen need to work on their customer interaction and there was little coordination as to charging system at the door. When I questioned the loss of Eastern Standard, iron in the room and water there seemed to be a pre and post covid perspective-however well and charming the front desk are the reality is that service and facilities throughout the hotel has slipped. I would love to have recommended a great hotel but it has a way to go before I would return sadly and my star rating reflects my disappointment at the contrast...

Hands down the best hotel experience I’ve ever had! I was made to feel special and important. Nick and Steve went above and beyond to help me out with everything from printing out documents I needed, to helping me with Ubers to even offering to make me reservations at hard to get into restaurants. I’m far from a celebrity or an A-Lister but man did these guys make me feel like a movie star. The restaurants on site are amazing! I highly suggest the Blue Ribbon. The rooms are immaculate. The art work throughout the hotel is awesome especially if you are a baseball fan. I honestly feel like I’m friends with Nick the Concierge and Steve. I will never stay anywhere else. I don’t want to leave!! Oh well back to the real world. I will miss you Hotel Commonwealth

We've stayed here a number of times over the years as our kids attended college near by. This staff has always been incredible. They are kind, warm, funny, and professional. Any time we've had an issue they hang in there until it is sorted. In addition to this feeling like a home away from home, it's location is central to so much - and the T is literally downstairs. The rooms and bathrooms are roomy and not at all tiny. And then there is the food! Room service is incredible! And the two restaurants downstairs are amazing too. Overall, a lovely place to come back and rest your head when you are in Boston.

Excellent hotel with an excellent location!! Located near the city, next to Fenway Park.It was our first time at this hotel with my family and the hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and the rooms elegantly decorated.Upon our arrival, the valet staff and the concierge treated us very kindly and when we went up to the reception the reception staff were also very friendly and gave us a warm welcome, there were three receptionists and all three of them treated us like family.They provided us with a very elegant Hotel Commonwealth bottles of water, and that was a very personal touch that I had not seen in other hotels. We only stayed one night but our stay there made our trip remarkable specially that we were going to celebrate New Year's Eve at one of the restaurants in the hotel and the whole experience was exceptional and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone! It is a true example of excellent hospitality.Thanks again to all the hotel staff for taking that little extra step for our family!!!
