Twice now I have been burned by this place. First was because doordash didn’t deliver my food. This time it was the toast system. I ordered 2 bagels and 2 drinks. Apparently they ran out of lox for the bagels, but instead of cancelling the order the drinks went through. I walked all the way to the store before I was told they ran out of lox. I was not offered a refund. I will not be giving this place my business anymore.

I'm just bewildered at my experience here tbh. The coffee? Amazing. The ambience? Lovely. But the service? Comical. Haha like it was just so bad I can't help but laugh at how my order went. I ordered a matcha and The Fix with gluten free bread and no eggs. The girl at the counter was in a daze staring at the door when I walked up but I ordered. She put everything in and asked if that looked right. I noticed everything was fine expect she put "no spread" under the sandwich and I clarified I wanted no egg and she said yes so I was like okay that's fine. I wait 10 minutes, get my sandwich, and it has eggs. So I go back and say hey I actually ordered this with no eggs. She stares at me. I repeat I want no eggs. She's very confused for some reason. She puts it in again the same way as last time with "no spread" I say "no egg." She stares at me. I literally felt like I was going insane like what am I saying that she does not understand. She says yes so I say okay and wait. 10 minutes later I get the sandwich. It has eggs. Again. So I ask for a refund this time. She's still so confused. She says she didn't know the button for no eggs so put no spread instead? Okay but then just let the kitchen know? Anyway weird experience. Spaced out lady

I had to refinance my house to get a bagel sandwich and a cawfee from this place. Their liquid sugar kickstarts my heart, though, so it’s a wash. I wish I were a yuppie billionaire so I could get a Tequila Sunrise every morning.

Place is nice and clean and the quality is good. But Holy Mother of God do they take their own sweet time making your order. There was nobody there, no line, no rush of online orders and it still took them 10 minutes to make my drink. I watched them amble from task to task with zero sense of urgency, like they had all day and nothing to do.

I've heard about the quality of their bagels, and was skeptical. It's a bit out of my way, so had not visited until yesterday at about 8am.At first I was not sure they were open - only two other customers were there. With three people behind the counter, there were no problems with service. On this day, there was no orange juice available, which was disappointing. This is clearly a management issue, and indicative of other potential problems which could relate to long term health of the business. The bagels ARE indeed excellent, which almost compensates for their high price. $6.99 including cream cheese, without tip included. At this price point, this isn't really something that would be in the range of a daily indulgence for me. Which is a shame because their bagels are far and away among the best Boston has to offer. The service was fair, not particularly warm or friendly. Perhaps not worth the 20% tip I provided.

Amazing iced latte, only problem was that i asked if they could steam the milk a little just so there would be some foam. This is normal at other coffee shops but the barista said that they couldn't do it. Either way the latte was great and so was the croissant. fast service and the cafe area is super cute and cozy as well. would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

This place wants 14.99 for a loaded breakfast sandwich and on the weekend their cute little store can’t even handle a 10 am rush. I waited 20 min for a bagel and ice tea. The bagel was barely warm when I got it and the ice tea they didn’t even follow what I asked for. Do better especially if you’re charging those prices in the Fenway area

ORDER THE MACHIATTO IT'S A MUST. The "Sweetest" experience I ever had. Read on to see why.I politely asked if I could order a Macchiato (I didn't see it on the menu board). The girl at the counter didn't know, so she checked with the Barista. The Barista confirmed it's not on the menu, but they could do it for me. Great. In the checkout screen, I saw that the girl posted it as "espresso macchiato," so they must have had it in their system. I thanked them after I gave a 20% tip on the order. While waiting, both baristas were looking at me, like I did something wrong and discussed something. Later, they called my name; I got my coffee and walked out to drink it. It turned out that they deliberately added a ton of cinnamon syrup in it, just for revenge (?) I don't know. The funny thing is -- I LOVED IT! I don't have my coffee with sugar, but I love sweets with cinnamon. What I didn't really like was the deliberate and conscious bad customer service from the two baristas. I was in Hospitality for many years, both in F&B and Front Office. I understand that customer service in bars/restaurants is challenging at times. However, I always felt rewarded when -even in tough situations- I provided exemplary customer service to the customers. If you aren't doing it for this, don't do it. Do something else.Pavement is a good coffeehouse; most of the time, they prepare a decent cup of coffee. Today was a sweet coffee but a bitter customer service experience. I am glad the Baristas had a good laugh with me; that may brighten their hard day at work. I don't usually write reviews, but If I were the owner, I'd be interested in getting that feedback - even if it's not (who knows?) a common theme but an one-time situation. (this happened 12/8/23 around 1:30pm)
