Quaint little place to get a quick bite to eat and take home some incredibly fresh delicacies from the ocean

July 2023: the chowder was good, the crab cake had a bad flavor even though it had a lot of meat, calamari was okay. For some reason the oysters were not as good or as plump as before. We got oysters here many times before although it was the first time we stopped by for lunch attracted by the outdoor space with umbrellas and a cool ocean breeze.

We go here for the oysters.Tried their cafe. We had oysters, of course, chowder, calamari, and the crab cake. The chowder is excellent, the calamari is good and the crab cake was disappointing.

Second day in a row that I was craving some seafood in Duxbury. Second day in a row was disappointed. Very slow service for 3 very basic options; cup o’ chowdah, quahog and dozen oysters. Quahog had no stuffing and I thought at one point I was chewing old ground up Chuck Taylor Converse All Stars. The Chowdah had a weird tanginess and lacked more substance. $45 down the drain and won’t be back. Very disorganized chef calling out orders and people just running around kind of lost. The waitress was kind enough to apologize for the delay however.

The fish may be fresh and the people lovely but the prices in the market are insane and out of bounds with local competition. We won't be back, unfortunately.

My sister and I had been out hiking and were quite hungry! Snug Harbor was technically not open but the owner; I think her name is Dianna, whipped us up some tremendous crab cakes and salad, thanks a million! The were totally delicious, In addition, I bought a bowl of their salmon chowder to take home to Westborough with me and it was the best soup I think I've ever had; I was expecting a cream base but felt EVER so much better with the veggies and the extra fish and potatoes, no cream in sight! I sure will be back for more, thanks again, Dianna for making us such delicious food on a gorgeous day,

I went in because we always go into French Memories when we are down there so decided to try the fish. We were surprised that inside there is only a 3 seat counter, it is basically a fish market that serves meals. There were two of us, and it was a bit chilly, so we ordered two fish sandwiches and sat at the counter, which looks out at the patio, so it was okay. The woman behind the counter was real nice, down to earth, the best. She took our order and I paid with a credit card. While waiting for our food I checked out the fish for sale and decided to get some, she packed it up and added some ice to the fish would stay cool in the insulated bag I had. I paid for that in cash. Everything was going great until I went to leave. There had been a lot of people in and out to pick up Easter orders. Lots of shrimp going out of there. When I got up to leave the owner, who had been hovering around, went to the cash register flustered, she was checking the tape and talking to that very nice woman to make sure I paid, yes I heard her. The nice woman who had waited on me told her yes, and showed her. She wanted to make sure the card had cleared, yes it had. Can you say MICROAGGRESSION. She hadn't done that with any of the other customers, and it was pretty obvious that she had been eyeballing me. Yes..I am brown. Aggravating ending to what was a nice experience.

They don't have a restroom for customers and wouldn't let my partners 75 year old mother use the staff one. Even if this is just an off season thing, it's unacceptable to not have proper facilities for guests. The cold lobster roll was a big portion but had 0 flavor or seasoning. The slaw was big pieces of cabbage and apple with also very little care or seasoning. I had the scallops which were grilled and good, but nothing special. The oysters come with premade cocktail sauce and a lemon slice, no minionet or anything to add. Genuinely could be better food and a nicer experience all around.
