Poets Seat Tower 1912 replaced a wooden tower of 1873 in Greenfield hill top.Poet Frederick Goddard Tuckermann 1821- 1873 appreciated by Emerson and Tennyson.We went in winter day of Nov24 2023 3 pm when it was sunny 7°C but first snow lining the drive and chilled winds blew on our faces .The Great facade in stone was erected by proud Citizens of Greenfield replacing wooden tower built after? The views are really amazing. There's a road that goes all the way to the tower but it does have a gate that closes at night and possibly other times, I'm not sure how much they actually use it. There's a couple of parking spots at the base of the tower. The tower itself is very well built and very solid. They have maintained it enough to keep it in safe working order but there is plenty of graffiti. If you are the type that packs gloves and trash bags, the area generally needs...read full review
Poet's Seat Tower marks the top of Rocky Mountain Park, which looms to the east of the town of Greenfield.
