The Black Forest cake I ordered was nowhere like the authentic black Forest cake. Unfortunately, it didn't have the cherries but instead just some cherry preserve or jam. I ordered it for a special occasion having waited one whole year before I could order this cake and was looking forward to it. Looks like Germany is the best place to have a slice of the Black Forest cake because it's been impossible to find them by the slice here and this cake was quite disappointing. Too much hassle just to get a slice of my fav dessert. The other bakery item I picked up from this bakery was very delicious though.

When I lived in Norway I would visit my papa in Germany all the time and he would have pastries waiting for me. I was brought back to that simple time in my life, with every bite. A must stop! dankjewel!

So 10 days in advance we placed an order for two large cakes for a party. Well it was a struggle considering the person on the other end of the phone barely spoke English. We arrive to pick up our cakes….no cakes. Nothing. Zip. Huge disaster. The person manning the Watertown location could barely hide her smirk. Just shrugged her shoulders. She did offer to make a couple of cakes but it would take an hour. We said great can you deliver them (as we had to be at the venue in 30 mins). When we said where (25 min drive tops) she said “nah we don’t deliver there”. You’d think as it was their f up they’d maybe be willing to drive an extra mile. I’ve sent this place so much business over the years so the lack of professionalism and smirky attitude just stung. Luckily Paris Baguette came to the rescue. If you order from here make sure you have a back up plan.

We were brought here by locals in the know. They said this location is only open for short hours on Friday and Saturday. Take out only, no seating. Walk in and the beautiful pastries make it very hard to choose. Our selections were terrific. Truly admired all the work that went into making such masterpieces! And so delicious, what a treat!

Great hole in the wall bakery. Not a big fan of them using margarine but the flavors don't lie. Delicious pastries

I found this around the back of this business park. It's small inside so plan on carryout. A good assortment of very tasty pastries, muffins and cookies were still available when I picked up the cake I ordered. The cake was outstanding and the muffins good.

I have been a customer for several years and their pastries, cookies and cakes are excellent. I had a recent experience where I tried to place an order at their Watertown facility, but it was missed and I was told it was too late to obtain our favorite cake, the princess torte. Disappointed, I reached out to their Medford store but was again told it was too late. However, within 2 hours, I received a call from a manager stating they would personally ensure my missed order was filled - this, to me, says the owners and managers are invested in their customers' happiness, in addition to being excellent at their craft. So to my fellow Yelp readers, I would advise making sure you speak to a live person when you place an order and (in the interest of being constructive) I hope DPH will upgrade their online order intake system.

The cake chef did a fantastic job with a marzipan sheet cake decorated in the colors of the Norwegian flag for Constitution Day celebration (May 17). Thanks so very much.

A hidden treasure in Watertown. It's more a small takeout store not a big cafe like the pictures suggest. They are probably from a different location. But their food is great. We always get birthday cakes and cakes for other occasions here and the princess torte is just amazing. When taking a tour with the kids on the "new" bike path we also stop by from time to time to get a sweet snack and charge up our batteries. You really have to look for it as it's attached to a larger commercial building plus the actually producing bakery, so you would not come across it naturally.

Pastries are great. But store pictures are incredibly misleading for this location. It is a small shop with no place to sit and no espresso.

We ordered the Lemon Luscious cake which was wonderful! Very fresh and flavorful, yet light. The decorations with marzipan were a nice touch. Highly recommend and will be coming back!

Absolutely the best Black Forest Cake I have ever had! 5 stars for the polite service at the Watertown branch. Be aware that the entrance is a door for the small Danish Pastry House retail outlet (not sure if they bake in the back) towards the side street back of the building. My GPS took me to the front and there was nothing there that said Danish pastry house.

Their cakes to order are awesome. Pastries/muffins … average. Note that images shown by GOOGLE search for Watertown location are misleading! The store w tables and chairs is ONLY for their place in Medford. Their bakery is in Watertown w very small selection and mostly for order pickup.

The coffee's good and the staff is very friendly but the pastries are all way too cloyingly sweet. Also what they call a lox bagel is pretty sad.Cut the amount of added sugar the recipes by like half, get in some decent bagels, and we'll talk.

Warning: The Watertown location is a tiny storefront connected to a warehouse. However it is home to the most high quality pastries of the region. It will ruin your palate for anything else for quite some time. Just buy the full kringle... You won't regret it.
