Good food for a great price. The server was very helpful.
Pleasantly surprised. After many years of just driving by this restaurant we finally decided to stop in on a recommendation from a friend. Great atmosphere, terrific service, and the view of the water while you eat is great. All the food looked very good and reasonably priced. I had the fish and chips & chowder, but they offer a wide selection of food. I came away very satisfied with my meal. I would rate my meal 4.5 stars and wouldn't think twice about recommending this restaurant and looking forward to my next visit.
The cuisine and atmosphere is exquisite. Great food and service. Issac's Seafood medley I'm heading there today for some more!
What a Fabulous Luncheon ...Love It At Issacs ! The Best Staff And Excellent Chef. Never Disappointed
Great food and good service. Stopped for lunch while in Plymouth. Great view out large windows.
Great door and great atmosphere but need to do better with lactose intolerant gluten-free
My partner and I were in town for a mini weekend getaway. Isaac's was walking distance and I saw the Fettuccine Neptune on the menu so we decided to go on Sunday around 7pm. We were seated immediately, although the hostess wasn't friendly to us (didn't make eye contact/walked away as she told us our server would be there soon, then slapped a drink menu on our table in passing about 5 minutes later.) Luckily our waitress Danielle was STELLAR which more than made up for this! She was so attentive, had a sparkling personality, and was very helpful with the menu. Service was fast - we ordered the fried vegetables app and it was huge and delicious (the garlic parmesan dipping sauce is to die for!). Glasses of wine were large as well. Our food came promptly and the portions were so big! My partner really enjoyed the steak tips, and the Fettuccine Neptune was literally out of this world. And there was so much of it that I had to take it home and it fed me for two more meals. The ambiance was calming and quiet - a nice change from the beachy vibes of other places, and felt more upscale. Great place for a romantic dinner with big portions at a very reasonable price! Would return for sure :)
The inital wait to get seated was a bit long. The appetizer was fairly small, but okay. The food tasted good. The food choices all seemed healthy. It was a bit pricey for what you got. However it should be expected since so close to the water. All in all it was pretty good. Don't know if I would want to go there again or not.
The waitress was amazing! The food was yummy. The atmosphere was decent. I'd recommend it to a friend! ð???
This is the place to go if you like fish. The Flounder was fantastic and the service was great. Love the experience. Highly recommended to everyone.
Very nice restaurant on the water w/ nice views.. indoor/outdoor seating.. really nice, professional, and attentive wait staff.. thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience of the dining room.
I have always loved this restaurant but after my experience tonight I wonâ??t be coming back. We always liked to come here for special occasions such as family birthdays. We were out celebrating my birthday tonight and the waitress from our initial greeting was very unpleasant. Sounds like someone else encountered the same waitress in a previous comment. We are a laid back family and certainly not high maintenance but if you donâ??t like your job, please find another. People skills are important when dealing with the public, especially food servers. Another downfall was we waited over an hour for our food and was told that the reason why was because they had a function room full of people. I have never waited this long for a meal here. Not sure what is going on but we unfortunately wonâ??t be back.
The hostess was not inviting, actually rude . Waitress was indifferent and 'having a bad day' until the check came. Food did come out quickly however it tasted just okay. Nothing to write home about. I had lobster with shrimp clams and scallops. The shrimp were good. The decor looks like it did 20 years ago. The view was nice overlooking the bay. I cannot say I would recommend or go back.
We at dinner here at a slow time so we felt comfortable ordering off menu for some things. The waitress and chef were very accomodating and the food was fabulous.
We had a wonderful meal. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They sat us in an area that we could look out at the boats on the water. What a beautiful spot..
Absolutely terrible. Very disappointed. This use to be one of Are favorite restaurant in Plymouth. We haven't been there in a couple of years. I ordered whole bell clams. If you like eating sand this place is for you. My wife ordered the special Fish haddock and artichoke. There wasn't one artichoke and the fish look like it went through a food processor. All mush. She couldn't even eat it. We complain to the waiter. But they still charged us for the meal and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We go out dinner about every two weeks. I have never said this about any other restaurant. We will never go back to this place again.
The outdoor seating was really pretty and the service was good. The food was basic, not as good as it should be for the money though. The indoor seating is very outdated. Unless they infuse some passion into the food, I wouldn't return.
Isaac's is my new favorite local spot on tue Plymouth waterfront! There are plenty of places to go but none with what Isaac's has to offer. Location and view, directly across from Plymouth harbor and free parking too. Watch the boats and the sunset from virtually ANY seat. Dine indoors or out. Wide variety of reasonably priced menu options to suit anyone's taste and a bar and wait staff that is always pleasant! Man can they make a drink!!! I am honestly NEVER disappointed!!!
Used to be good. Now is pretty disappointing. I asked for a clean bread plate for our table...the waitress brought a replacement but had to search several other tables for a clean replacement. The restaurant has the old carpet smell. I ordered the broiled scallops, they tasted of ammonia. Suffered from the after effects for hours! Never again!
This is more of an adult restaurant . Has a step up balcony to overlook the water and boats. It does have an elevator and also a patio.\nThe food was good but I do favor the East Bay Grill for it's food.
Love this place, the food is excellent! Stop in if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed. I had the chicken and shrimp Mediterranean pasta dish, absolutely fantastic!
Great birthday dinner on 7/28/19. My companion and I started with house salads. His was great. I ordered a Caesar Salad, but received a garden salad. My chicken and shrimp apricot was terrific. Companion enjoyed a salmon special. Desserts of Mud Pie and key-lime cheesecake were outstanding!\nWe ate here a year ago on 7/29/18 and dealt with an exceptionally rude young woman hostess. I call her Miss Personality. She was shouting into the hostess telephone this year, thank God! Didnâ??t have to deal with that (rhymes with witch) again this year! She was soooo obnoxious last year! A young gentleman host sat us without incident. This year we had a wonderful experience. Friendly, prompt staff service.
Delightful service and really good food. Shrimp stir fry, scallops and schrod were all done just right. The view was also fantastic.
We ran into this place by accident while shopping. We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner. The views were amazing and the food was great. Our server was also top notch,.
I would give this a zero if I could..my sister's and I make our annual luncheon at Isaacs and were terribly disappointed...we went for steamers and lobster and ended up getting an appetizer and left without eating. Our first problem was they all types of advertisement s of Sam adams, my sister order Sam summer and was told Isaacs doesn't carry Sam adams....we order a cup of chowder that was not etable. Ordered 3 appetizer and it was horrible. Left them on the table paid the waitress and left..... Since this was our first bad experience we're wondering what's happened........horrible, horrible horrible......don't waste your time or money, so many other great restaurants
So disappointing! We called ahead asking about the wait and they said you guys are fine, come on in! We were there ten minutes later. There were ten of us so we expected to have to wait a little bit but it ended up being about 30 minutes until we were seated. Long story short: We ordered drinks and got them 40 minutes later! We thought about leaving but had 5 kids between the ages of 2 and 10 who were hungry and it was already 7:30. So finally we get our drinks and ordered dinner. That took about another 45 minutes to an hour for the food to come. In the two plus hours we were there we were never once asked if we wanted more drinks or water. I had to wave over a waitress who wasn't ours and ask for water about an hour after our drinks were empty. We got more water but they never brought over our other beverage refills that we had asked our waitress for. Then the food comes out. I was so hopeful but WOW. Disgusting. The only people who didn't mind their food were the kids who got chicken tenders and my sister in law who got the veggie tempura appetizer. My brother and dad got the surf and turf and their steaks were raw when they asked for them medium well. My brother sent his back to be cooked more and it was definitely microwaved. Half of the food was cold and the pasta seemed like it was put in a microwave. It was horrific. I've never sent my food back before last night. Our waitress never came over to see how things were until the other nice waitress who got us the water came over and I told her how terrible the food was. That waitress was very apologetic and said the food should have been better, which I appreciated. Our waitress, who said she was new didn't seem to care. She made a comment that well at least the baby liked his food...surprisingly the two year old wouldn't even eat the grilled cheese. We also overheard her saying that the table in front of us didn't tip her. If the food was great and the service wasn't , I wouldn't even have left this review. The fact that the our waitress was absent and the food was terrible is a problem. If you're a waitress and people aren't tipping you then you should take a look at yourself and figure out why. The manager never came over but told the waitress to take two meals off the bill. We still paid way too much for what we got. When we went to the restroom we overheard several other people complaining about the food and service. There was a reason why they were the only place around with a wait under two hours. To the waitress who got us our water and spoke to the manager about our food, you were the only good thing about this place. Sadly, we won't be returning.
The food here was solid and very reasonably priced. I had one of the specials at about $15, but you could certainly have a meal for under $10. I had the shrimp Diane on a bed of rice. The shrimp was buttery and well flavored. My mother had the filleted fish topped with a creamy sauce and two sides. This was also a special. She enjoyed her meal. Both dishes had large portions. This restaurant's decor is outdated, but well maintained. The view and location are exceptional. Among the restaurants in the area, it has a more formal appeal (but attire is casual). There is also indoor dining options, which is very appealing on this particularly hot day. There are few other restaurants in the area with indoor seating.
Finer dining atmosphere at killer prices! I think the best bang for the buck around! Large menu with plenty of apps, dinners, and salads and such. I had the ceasar salad with anchovies and oil dressing ($10) & bowl of clam chowder ($6) and I'll go back just to get those again! Service was attentive, Great view of bay and classy. Kids would fit in I think, but not too young or mom may be nervous.
Not the biggest fan of seafood but I had to come here for a family lunch. I got the chicken broccoli penne since it seemed simple and hard to mess up. However, my pasta was very soggy and the entire dish was drenched in oil. A little bit of oil is ok, but my food was practically swimming in it, which made it very difficult to eat. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water but the food was not the best. They would NOT split our bill which made paying in a group very difficult.
We sat outdoors on the deck overlooking the water. Food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. We had to bring leftovers home as we were filled with bread, appetizer, and chowder which came in a generous small bowl. All entrees were well received by our group: salmon, muscles, scallops, scallops/shrimp. Waitress Taylor was superb! Drinks were made very well. Great outdoors - will try indoors in the cooler months.
Beautiful, flavorful.clean. good prices. Great experience.great view. Can be casual or dress up. .Amazing.I will go again!
We were a party of 5 and all of our meals were delicious, the seafood was fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. Even during a very busy time for the restaurant, our waitress was friendly and fast. Meals are priced affordably and portion size is generous. Thanks Isaac's, we'll be back again!
Great service. Worth the wait on a saturday night. Both meals served as requested (fish and steak) . Wish they offered more than one draft beer.
This restaurant wants to be a fine-dining restaurant but needs interior updating and a good cleaning, the flatware on the table was not clean good thing we order sandwiches and didnt need flatware. With that said we stopped for lunch and the food was good and we asked for a table with a view of the harbor and that made the dining experience pleasurable.
Lobster roll is $21.95. They tried to charge us $23.95. The table cloth under the glass top was FILTHY. The appetizer plates were FILTHY (grease and good particles). French fries were cold. This is a ONE &DONE. Quite disappointing. The cost should be $$$
Wife and I went to Isaacs for our anniversary. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait for a seat outside, ok no problem. It wasn't that busy, but 45 minutes later, we were seated outside. All the tables outside were empty. Two more parties were seated after us. Both those parties were served bread and water and had their drink order placed. We waited and waited for our waitress. After 15 minutes, we checked in with hostess and told her that no one had waited on us yet and she said that someone would be right out. Another 10 minutes go by, still no waitress so we left. Terrible service!
My wife and I were in the area for a doctor's appointment and wanted to enjoy a special place with great food and a a wonderful view. Isaac's fit the bill perfectly. The restaurant is located very close to where the Mayflower ll is located. It is a large building that really would be hard to miss. There is metered on the street parking across the street. The meters take credit cards. There is also parking next door to the restaurant. The restaurant is located over some attractive and interesting shops. You take an elevator up to their lobby area which also contains a men's and ladies room.I think we should have made reservations but were able to get immediate seating with a nice view of the water. Our server was prompt and efficient and friendly but not not overly so. She made some recommendations for lunches and was prompt with beverage orders and refilling the bread roll basket. We both ordered clam chowder which comes in a very large sized bowl. I had half expected a cup so was pleased to see such a generous serving. The chowder was hot and very thick and creamy with nice clam flavors.I ordered one of the specials which was schrod divan and my wife ordered the shrimp curry. Both orders were brought out together, nice and hot with nice presentations. Mine was delicious and my wife thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. I would like to learn how to prepare the dish I had at home as I am sure it would quickly become a favorite. We were full and skipped dessert. This was a nice restaurant, clean, good food great service...bring your parents.
My wife and I were in Plymouth on vacation from Oregon and stopped at Issac's for dinner. We had already checked things out on line and chose Issac's solely on the basis of its menu. We were not disappointed. The food was great and the view magnificent.
Great view, good food, reasonable prices, very good service. We stopped here for a quick dinner. Were seated quickly, waitress was friendly and efficient. Scallops were great, swordfish good. Sunset over the harbor was terrific. Prices were very reasonable, about $4-5 less per entree than we would pay at a comparable place on the cape. Recommended.
I thought this restaurant is very outdated and reminds me of a restaurant of the 80s. I am not a big fan of carpets in a seafood restaurant because they always leave a smell. The views are beautiful especially during sunset or people watching. The service was very slow but friendly, our waitress was new working at the restaurant and she was honest with us to bare with her and I respected her customer service. The food quality was a C+ but the portions were large. Prices were a lot cheaper then legal seafood but quality was ok for the money . I don't know if I would rush back to this restaurant anytime soon. If it was me I would do a renovation especially with the bathrooms and pull the old smelly carpet.
