Hadn't been here since pandemic, and they had completely re modeled, atmosphere was more cozy, bar added in and appealed too young and old. I sat on on new dining side. The food was delicious as always and all the servers were very friendly.

Food is absolutely horrible!! I ordered the brisket and it was bye far the worse I have ever had! My potatoes were cold! There was 7 people in my party and shortly after we left we all had a horrible stomach ache and all had the runs what a coincidence fair warning do not give this place a try it is over priced for food that don’t taste and is going to get you sick

Something changed. Used to go here all the time, for years. Food was spectacular. Went back recently and got a crispy chicken sandwich for $17 (!!!) that was dry, tasteless and tiny. What happened? Bartenders were awesome, and reason for 3 stars.

I am a long time customer of American BBQ and this was my first order since the new ownership. I am very unhappy with my order that I placed online on 3/9 at 3:42 pm for a 5:00 pick up. First of all, I believe what may have happened was that they processed the order at 3:42 and left it sitting around until 5:00 because most of the items were very cold and dried out. First of all, the 1/4 lb burger I ordered was missing the FRIES much to my disappointment. The burger was supposed to be Medium well and it was charred black on the outside yet medium rare-ish on the inside, and it was ice cold. Second, the kid's burger meal that I ordered was inedible. The burger was a cold, dry, black little hockey puck that even my daughter would not/could not eat. The fajitas were fine. I was a little disappointed/surprised at the small portion compared to the fajitas I have ordered at other restaurants. But they were hot and the veggies and chicken were cooked nicely. The half chicken meal was very disappointing in a couple of ways. It was COLD and it is just not as moist and juicy as it used to be under the old ownership. The half chicken used to be a favorite meal for my husband. We're not planning on spending our hard earned money there any time soon.

Food is delicious and fairly priced love coming here. Friendly service everytime and always clean! 10/10 best BBQ in the northshore hands down. 200x better food than the Rusty Can. There’s no “rusty” service here ! The interior of the restaurant is brand new.Vegetarian options: plentyDietary restrictions: GFParking: plenty of spots in front and around backKid-friendliness: Kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp.

I LOVE the bbq! Barbie, Lisa, Liz, Lee, everyone is always so welcoming, accommodating, and incredibly nice. Truly feels like family when I come here, my home away from home. The food is always on point and the strawberry margs are a must!!

My wife fled the south due to opportunities in New England, hardest part of the transition was givin' up good BBBQ (The extra b is for bangin' good smokehouse flavor & also cocktails.)American BBQ has been a staple for us for years. She claims it fills the gap in her life she misses of good down home Barbeque. The meat is wonderfully tended too, giving a great main, they do not skimp on the sides, menu is tailored for vegetarian and gluten free options. We've yet to find a better place in New England nor a bad experience stopping by.

Service was very good, the food was also good, only issue is both my husband and myself both got Brisket in our platters and my husband was solid and very salty with smoke rings. Hard to eat. My Brisket was soft, juicy and a little fatty and was delicious. He wasn’t happy with his at all. The ribs he said were his favorite, besides the homemade chips. Just wish the Brisket was consistent and good on both dinners!

Really good BBQ. The sauces were great, the ribs were smoked and tasty but not overdone. We were happy with everything we tried.

Rest in Peace American Barbecue. Well folks it’s over, this once amazing restaurant has changed hands. Apparently the original recipes were not included in the deal. The food now is awful. Truffle fries are now bagged frozen fries with globs of weird white stuff that is certainly not truffle sauce. The New England style baked beans are from a can and boy what ever you do do not get the crispy chicken sandwich with old chicken, old avocado, yellow lettuce and a stop and shop bun. Yikes!!! not to mention the drinks. The previous owners had a flawless menu and they will be missed.
