The food was okay a little small on the portions for the price I had ordered a Reuben on rye the Reuben was a little salty and it was kind of small but it was overall an okay sandwich the hygiene of the people behind the counter was very poor the lady behind the counter asked if I wanted to leave a tip I find that to be a little offensive considering I was standing there picking up my food if there was a waitress or a waiter maybe I would have felt a little different the one thing that bothered me the most and would make me not come back the cook was handling my food with bare hands and playing with his phone if I need to explain anything from there if I need to explain you don't handle food and play with a phone I came very close to calling the health department on that issue I think the inside of the restaurant could be a little bit cleanerParking: Parking was not a problem this is located on Sumner avenue in Springfield Mass

Food is good but the most poorly managed place I’ve ever seen. Absolute chaos. Plan on waiting at least 45 minutes.

The bagels are top-notch, easily the best in Springfield for both taste and affordability. There are SO many varieties of bagels, spreads, sandwiches, wraps, etc. to choose from. I've had everything from a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich to a bagel with cream cheese spread and the quality is excellent across the board. But what I'm really here to write about is the staff. The same staff members are always working tirelessly every time I go into the restaurant, and no matter how slow or busy it is, they are always so friendly. There's an older lady always working - and I wish I knew her name - but she always seems to remember me and it makes my day a little brighter every time!Yes, you'll be waiting if you try to roll into Bensons on a Saturday or Sunday morning, but that's to be expected. Plan for it: the staff is always working hard to get everyone's orders out in a timely fashion despite how crazy the place can get, but plan to wait at least 20-30 min. for an order on the weekend. On weekday mornings when I stop in before work, I'm often in and out in less than 10 minutes with a fresh, hot bagel.

The food tastes good but it took over 30 minutes from waiting in line to receiving my food just to get ONE simple breakfast sandwich. Overpriced, frankly ($7 for a bacon egg and cheese bagel) and the place is overall gross. I've been there a couple of times in my lifetime, but I'm done forever now. There are literally two Dunkin Donuts locations right next door and as much as I dislike corporate chains, there I would spend less money and get my food much faster.

I order a banana nut muffin toasted with butter, I waited over 15 min to get it only to notice it was on a back table just sitting there. I then asked is that my muffin and the cashier said yes, I then said well can I have it. It has been sitting there for a while. Inthen went back to my office and opened the foil to the muffin and the smell that came from there made me so neasus. It smelled like old meat. I immediately trashed it because I didn't have the time to go all the way back there to give it back to them. While waiting for my muffin I noticed the cook over the grill was sweating and his nasty sweat was dripping on the grill and he DID NOT HAVE plastic gloves on his hands when cooking. One of the ladies looked high on drugs that was working the cash register, and there were other people in the back of the counter touching food with NO GLOVES. I will never go there to eat anything ever again. That place is unsanitary and dirty.

These bagels are topnotch!!! I try to get a different flavor every time I visit. If they mess up your order, they'll eat the cost to save a lifetime customer. I enjoy the atmosphere with the local flare feel. Also, the coffee ☕️, muffins and pancakes hits the spot!!! I am able to feed the entire family. Thank you so much ?

This bagel shop was awesome....yes they serve more than just bagels, they have a variety of breakfast options, but the bagels are fantastic. True old school bagels that you can tell are made in the shop. If your in this area...try them out.

In the same amount of time it took the kitchen staff to make my bagel sandwich, i could have;•went through the mortgage and escrow process to purchase a farm•planted, harvested and stone-ground wheat into flour to make my own bagelsThe sandwiches are VERY good at Benson’s, but unfortunately that is soured by the poor kitchen organization. Of the 6-8 people manning the kitchen, 2 were working extremely hard, while the rest stood around with hands in their pockets like teenagers during gym class.Save the time and cook at home yourself, or drive the extra 10 minutes to the enfield location.

Whoever answers your phones on Sundays deserves a raise. I threw a giant order at this girl and she repeated it twice and even wrote it down on the phone with me to make sure it was right. She was so pleasant and kind. Every time we get breakfast there, it’s cooked to perfection. This is the only place that grills the veggies before it goes in an omelet. I think this is the only breakfast spot that has seasonings too cause you can taste that difference. We order every Sunday and they always get it right. A true Springfield staple.
