I was excited to try this restaurant at first but unfortunately they’re not open on Sundays! I went there at 2pm expecting food like the website promised but nobody showed up. I also tried calling couple of times overall it was a waste of my time and gas.

Couldn't even get to the food the "hostess" was so rude and unapproachable. Snapped we dont have this we dont have that. On top of "yeah that's not even on our menu we dont do that". The service alone mad the food inedible. We were really excited to catch the place open because there LITERALLY always closed. And her attitude was a joke. I'm positive the 4.7 ⭐️ is from family and friends. There's no way they got past the front door if she was working IMO

Went for my first time today, I live over an hour away and yall…..I would still go if it were THREE hours away. The food was amazing, seasoned perfectly, hot & fresh. You can tell the owner of this establishment really cares about the quality of his food & puts in the time and effort. I can’t wait to go back ?

Called in to put my order in at 4:20 walked in at 515 because she told me it would take about 45 mins I still had to wait over and hour there for my food and then I had put in for 2 orders she tried telling me I only ordered 1 then she still gave me the wrong order ? walked to my car good thing I sat in my car outside, so she stopped me but told me she gave me wrong order then proceeded to put her arm in my car and grabbed the food out my passenger seat which I thought was kinda rude then waited another 20 minutes to get my food food was alright a little to salty for me!

This food is delicious I am not surprised as I know his upbringing. I got some of those bbq wings BEST THING EVER!!! The Mac the yams the greens….geesh thanks for bringing back home cooking. Hands down GOOD!

Took me back south with this great food. Chicken was crispy and tasted like heaven. Collards melted like butter in my mouth and the Mac and cheese was on point with cheese and flavor. Topped it off with a cornbread muffin and a cup of Arnold Palmer. I got it to/go but there was ample seating and a good vibe in the restaurant. Portions were worth the price point. I will be going back if I come back to town. I hope to try the catfish if they have it next time!

Can do better sweet potatoes are to sweet corn bread not done, lady behind counter clearly doesn't know about customer service the collard greens was terrible

5 stars is not enough. The folks here are absolutely friendly and treat you like family. Food is beyond good. 5 stars do not do it justice. I got the salmon with the chef recommendation lemon pepper sauce and greens and Mac and cheese. Everything is beyond perfect. Greens are cooked to perfection. Not too mushy and not too firm, Mac and Cheese is firm and gooey. Salmon is so damn tender it is almost hard to eat. Across from MassMutual center so I am positive this place has to be packed before games or events. I can’t recommend the place enough.

This place is Amazing!!! The food is absolutely delicious I wouldn't change a thing about the flavors (and I'm EXTREMELY picky). The customer service is incredible, and the cook is so kind and clearly makes everything fresh. I visited the Northern Soul Cafe today and was warmly greeted by my girl Charlene. She informed us about the special of the day consisting of catfish (boneless) served with dirty rice. I couldn't resist pairing it with the mac n cheese and yams. The catfish was extremely crispy and flavorful without being overly salty, and the sides were so delicious they reminded me of my mom's cooking. Needless to say, I left the Northern Soul Cafe feeling extremely happy and satisfied.

The collard greens were wayyy too salty. I couldnt finish my food as all the juice drained over into my chicken and mac. I couldnt enjoy it.
