Great service with great servers, food was pretty awesome and drinks were great. The best thing was the atmosphere, the decor and mood was very asthetic and it would be great for dates or just hanging outKid-friendliness: Probably not the best place for kids under 11, it would ruin the vibe for others

Decor had a funky goth vibe. It was very unexpected for an Italian restaurant. It was extremely cool. Seating is comfortable and well spaced. The portions were huge. The food was yummy. The tomato sauce was chunky and well seasoned. Maybe a needed dash more salt. The Wednesday Adams drink was unique and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. The time from ordering to receiving our meal was slow, but not a big deal. The only thing taking away a star was the music. It was so loud we couldn't have a conversation at the table. The volume was appropriate for a bar, but a nice dining establishment.

I have usually been in Sweet Basil on the weekend nights and it was always loud and crowded. Last night was a rainy Wednesday and it was very quiet. Food is always perfect and the staff always attentive. Perfect and thank you!

The craft cocktails are the bomb! I love the ambience of Sweet Basil Waltham. It reminded me a bit of Cuchi Cuchi in Cambridge if you've been around long enough to remember this restaurant ?. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent food and service. Unfortunately the level of noise made it impossible to carry on conversation at our table of six. In addition there was loud music which forced us to speak even louder. In addition tables are very close together

For some reason I always think this place is a Thai restaurant. The name and the atmosphere seem to reflect that. However its Italian....and very good.

I was invited out to Sweet Basil, and my experience there was beyond all of my expectations. The vintage decor draws you right in. The staff was so attentive, friendly, and efficient. For our meal, we sampled the beet borsch, the bread service with freshly made pesto, the risotto of the day packed with fresh veggies and flavor, and our entrees were equally delicious. My husband had the special which was the sea bass with mashed potatoes and glazed baby carrots. I sampled the octupus ragu which was excellent. The octopus was tender, and the pasta was perfect. We decided to share the flan topped with coconut, with coffee. If your looking for a fine culinary experience find time to enjoy this magnificent restaurant. I am so pleased that we did. Enjoy!,.

Highly recommend you try Sweet Basil on Moody in Waltham, MA. or Needham, MA. My son Jim who resides in N.H. heard of this restaurant and recommended we try it. The food, absolutely delicious and could likely earn a top Michelin rating. The wait staff were wonderful and attentive. Great ambience. The best dining experience we've had in years. Prices are very reasonable, proving that a quality dining doesn't have to be expensive, BUT, it's priceless! 5 Stars Absolutely

Always a wonderful experience. The owner/chef takes pride in his restaurants and his food and it shows. And if he's at one of his restaurants when you are dining, you will see him graciously attending to all his guests and making the rounds. Staff is always kind and just the right level of attentive.

Food was very weird. Bolonese was decidedly not a Bolonese sauce and the ravioli was way under-cooked. Service was okay but they didn't really know the menu at all when we had some basic questions. Best thing on the menu was the bread and pesto that was brought out at the start.
