We went to the Crown bakery on Goldstar for every holiday and at least twice a month for 25 years when the family lived in Worcester. It was fabulous, the hermits, the macaron/buttercream/chocolate treats and the oval puff pastry with some type of cream were my personal favorites. Our mothers favorites were the jelly rolls. Hopefully the owners will reopen or some one will buy this great Worcester destination .

Best bakery when Lennart soderman the executive baker for over 40 yrs was there. When he retired, no matter who owned it, couldn't find the excellence it once had. LITTLE MENTION OF LENNART SODERMAN,but he w as the backbone of the Crown. GOODBY it will be missed.

I grew up in a Swedish-American family in Chicago. Crown Bakery was very good put not quite on a par with my memories from Andersonville. Still....very good cardamon coffee cake and limpa bread. Looks like they are closing permanently - Worcester's loss!

Fond childhood memories. Every year I would get a rainbow torte for my birthday. It would make me very happy. Different layers of different flavored frostings coated with a whipped cream frosting and garnished with fruit and a marzipan nameplate. I think they used sponge cake bc it was sort of fluffy. Do they still make this? And could they ship it using dry ice? I guess ill have to make the pilgrimage up North but it would def be worth it!!!!

The best gluten free pastries in Worcester, and not that expensive like some other places like to be.

Delightful gluten free almond cookie with chocolate mousse and chocolate on top. This item was excellent, service was prompt and most polite. Would like to see them keep the Swedish crown bakery tradition alive. Thank you for such excellent service.

We had been looking for a new source for our Swedish food items The Crown was recommended. We tried it and were impressed with the taste and quality of the items we chose. Definitely will return.

The BEST Swedish coffee bread this side of the Atlantic!
The food and pastries are excellent. The service is awful. They don't have more than two people working in the afternoon which is the only time I go. God forbid they have to make sandwiches while you just need a couple of pastries. ZERO urgency when waiting on customers. They once had a flock of people behind the counter, you're lucky if they have two now.

Sorry to say this is not the crown bakery of yore. We were very frequent buyers at Crown Bakery for years when it was the original owners and everything was wonderful and fresh. Not the case anymore- cakes are no longer beautifully decorated and the taste of their cakes are horrible.

I've been a fan of Crown Bakery for many years. However, I just heard that they have new owners. I believe this to be true because they do not carry what they used to. I used to purchase "Swedish Blondes" they are delicious cookies but, they haven't had them in months! What's up?

I have been in a few times since it was taken over. Everything I bought has been stale and the prices are ridiculous. Very poor customer service. It is not what it used to be. There is also not much to puck from. Sorry.

extremely disappointed and let down by crown bakery. i ordered a cake for my baby shower. i triple checked their hours here on yelp to make sure i knew what time they closed on fridays. it says 6pm on the site. i show up to the bakery to pick up my custom cake at 430 & they are closed. have been a customer for a long, long, time and they've let me down on the most important day. i wont ever be back.
