Our first time in Winnipeg and found this gem. This place was packed and we quickly found out why. What a fantastic breakfast! Great service and great food. Prices were super reasonable. Portions were huge. Menu had a ton of great options. If you are looking for a classic diner, this is the place for you.

I come here for breakfast on my daughter's birthday every year, or to enjoy their delicious reuben sandwich or their perfect toasted cinnamon buns as a treat, or for a few beers while writing my latest piece. This is a great little spot I had breakfast which was very good. Service was exceptional I was seated quickly and attended to immediately. My food came very quickly and everything was freshly prepared which I loved. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was very laid back and inviting although a little dated but seemed to be kept clean. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place for a breakfast as a group or just for yourself.

Have wanted to try this place for a while.....I met up with friends for lunch and the food and service was very good. I was happy until I got in my car. I was in their parking lot warming up my car (it is cold in Winnipeg in the winter and my windows were iced). This older man stopped in front of my car and started waving his finger at me and yelling. I opened my door and asked him what he was saying and he said "you can't park here". I mentioned I was just warming my car and he continued to yell at me. As I was backing out, he was in the parking lot now watching me. I rolled my window down and asked him what was wrong as I had just had lunch there and was warming my car. He continued to tell me I couldn't part there. Doubt I will be back after being so disrespected.

Came in for breakfast before a conference and they did not disappoint! Owner was lovely, eggs Benny was delicious, friend had the pancakes which were so fluffy and massive and another friend had the breakfast sandwich which they said was also amazing! 100% recommend

Great place to hang out and eat at that gives you that cozy feeling of comforting typical diner feel -- you know, like in the movies drinking a coffee and reading the paper. In fact, it's one of the best places in Winnipeg to have that kind of feeling with. The menu is usually full of the good stuff that's wanted and also vegan friendly.
Always a true pleasure to eat here. Always friendly , fast service, and amazing food. Never been disappointed in any way and been going here for a great man years.

honestly such a great place, I got the breakfast w/ rye, eggs Sunnyside up and sausage and it was delicious. Hash browns are definitely a highlight here, but be warned - they are super rich, like oily to the max, but VERY delicious (salt & pepper and ketchup are a must but they are at the table). if you have some time to digest and have a nice conversation, the nook is the place to go. such a chill environment with great staff.
