A friend and I came out to a birthday event hosted at Power Plant. Everybody met up here, as the first stop in our crawl. Nice enough experience as far as setting and crowd, but that's about it. There were at least three fairly large groups present on our side of the bar, so our bartenders were pretty busy. After patiently waiting ten minutes, we ordered two drinks. Two drinks that we never received. The guy moved to the opposite end of the bar to service a party crowd from Hopkins. Hmmm... yeah. I caught his eye once, but he looked away and poured another drink - for someone else. I decided to move around to the less crowded side of the bar where I was promptly helped by a friendly young lady. Being a bartender myself, I understand the importance of efficiency, speed and customer service - none of which Dude exhibited. Now on to the last experience... I returned to the other side of the bar with our group, where everybody was ordering wings. At a Mexican restaurant. I happened to be standing at the bar where our group was picking up their wing orders. No lie, we saw a six-legged critter scurry across the bar. One female brought it to Dude's attention, to which he replied, "What am I suppose to do?" So.. Atmosphere and setting - Great Bar Service - Not so much Food - Not on your life!

I love Mexican food! But this ain't it. :-( After enjoying myself at a social game on the same block, I decided I wanted something to eat. I almost fell over myself when I saw this restaurant but I should've gone on home instead. I ordered chicken wings, quesadillas and guacamole and every piece of food, even that of my friends, tasted like trash. It was tasteless, cold and gross and I wondered how this place could even be in existence. It's like they don't care about the food and I got the impression if you're drinking, which they provide plenty of, you still couldn't be fooled. The best thing about it was my waitress but it took so long for the food to come out that I couldn't give an extra star. Just bad, all the way around.

Never again.... Took more than an hour and 2 conversations with the manager to get my drink order. When it did come, it was loaded with fruit flies so I can't comment to how it tasted. So...lousy service abd food and drink prepared with questionable hygene...stay away from this place.

He food wasn't the best but it was definitely edible. Went in on a Thursday night for the trivia it was a blast. Atmosphere and trivia game was the best part of the outing. If you are looking for a fun night of happy hour and trivia this is a great spot.

Got 4 margaritas the first two tasted just like the mix no alch. Then we ordered the next two and I watched the bartender he so happened to see me.. so my drink was now stronger. Also got chips and salsa.. some chips were burned some were fresh, the salsa was so so. The waitress was friendly and the hostess was as well. My rating is purely based on the drinks honestly.. eh.

Stop texting me every month I won a raffle for a free booth! I gave you my number 7 years ago when I was in town for one night. I wanted the booth that night, I have never been back since. Every month I win a free booth at your restaurant/club. I've never been as lucky with anything else in my life it is depressing. Please for my mental health stop.

So . . . It's a Sunday evening and you've had a long weekend. You know you should rest because soon the work week will be upon you but you need to get out and dance. Yes, dance. If you're not a dancer, you won't understand. What's a better stress relief?! After finding two locations were closed already we headed to another only to discover it was CLOSED too! Wego wants to drive all the way up to Bmore on a Sunday? Ummm . . . . I will first, next time. Mex, after a $10 cover, served their purpose for us this past Sunday. Not crowded and tunes to be swung around to. Since it was a late Sunday, that's my guess as to why so few bartenders were present but we quenched our thirst none the less. It was the prefect intimate place to do some Latin dancing on a Sunday. Definitely First Date worthy.

It's great as the first EARLY stop to your night if you planning to go out to Power Plant Live for the weekend. Before 930pm is great time to get great service and food. After 10pm its kinda crowd and hard to get service on the weekend. Ots downtown so parking is on luck. Wings were great but the ranch dressing is orange and a little weird.

It's a tequila bar. No good tequila. The margaritas were GARBAGE just syrup in an old fashioned glass. Couldn't even finish them. Food was garbage. Everything tasted bland boring and cheap. Service was non-existent. Completely understaffed had to chase the waitress down to give our orders and ask for the check. Probably fine if it's 1am and your wasted already but don't go here otherwise.

Of all my years living in Baltimore, and frequenting Mexican restaurants here, I haven't ever been to Mex. I was invited by my friend Lisa, and she assured we'd have a good time. She made sure we were taken care of. We were greeted by the Manager, Barry, who sat us immediately. Our server Danielle was dynamite! She was very kind and attentive. Was on point all night. She took note of every substitute and amendment for my orders. I ordered the carne asada and the fajita salad. I ordered my steak medium, and it was cooked perfectly! We came on a Friday night, and that was a great choice. I walked in, and that DJ was ROCKIN'. I sang and danced all night. Literally! Now, to address my four star rating...Okay, I love this place, but for a tequila bar, their cocktails are weak in my opinion. Their menu boasts a healthy amount of tequilas, even the tequilas up in age. They offer variety of different flavor choices for their house margaritas, which are delicious, they're just not strong--And not in an "I want you to use your most premium spirits for a simple $8.00 cocktail" way, but in an "I don't want to taste just lime juice" way. Because of this, after my two margaritas (one blackberry and one mango), I ordered a shot of a reposado just so I could feel buzzed. In conclusion, If you want good food and a bangin' ambiance, Mex is the place for you! I will for sure be back, and with a pack of people too!

The meal I ordered was $11 but adding a margarita upped my bill to nearly $25. My drink was good and strong if a bit overpriced. The tacos on the other hand, not the best I've had. A bit bland, under filled, and did not have the sour cream it was supposed to come with. Overall I was rather disappointed. The one thing I've had here that is consistently excellent is the veggie burrito which is what I usually order. So much for trying something new. The inside is spacious and the furnishing quite pleasing and to my liking. This joint is usually dead during the day which is the only time I've been here. I took my husband here once and he was not impressed. He ordered tacos and they were quite small. For authentic Mexican I suggest a small family run restaurant. They have more reasonable prices and the food is nearly always excellent.

I went to MEX to attend a business happy hour event. The restaurant is a great location in Downtown to host these types of events as they have an open layout and can fit a decent amount of guests indoors and outdoors. Part of the event included happy hour drink specials and catered food items. The drinks were really good, I would consider going back for a personal happy hour to have the same drinks (pictured is the "U & O" if I remember correctly). While the catered food were pretty straight forward items they tasted really good as well. The meal included quesadillas, chips and salsa, wings and other snack items.

Just don't come here. Here are the reasons: #1 - What the heck is up with their drink menu? Seriously. We asked our server how much a margarita was and her response was "that's a good question" depends on x, y and z. I still was unclear what was happening, so my husband and I each ordered a house margarita and called it a day. When we got our drinks, there was no salt or sugar on the rim, pretty sad for a place that has a whole section of their menu for margaritas? Also, our first one was served with a normal straw cut in half and the next with coffee stirrers? Next, they were WEAK. Really, a waste of money. #2 - We ordered the fajitas, which say on the menu that they come with guac. When they were brought out to us, the little plate with all of the toppings did not have guac, so we had to ask for it and they said they planned to bring it out separately? Huh? OK. #3 - We both got sick I gave this a 2-star rating simply because our server was nice, other than that, a 1. End of story. Don't go here, it is not good.

Late on a Sunday this was the only place open. They had some live music and we enjoyed ourselves. Drinks were pricey, but the entertainment was worth it.
