We had such a fun dinner at Suzy’s place tonight. The decor is eclectic and artsy, and Suzy made dining an enjoyable experience. She’s sassy, and funny, and she truly cares about spending time with each diner and getting to know them. We’ll be back for the conversation, the atmosphere, and the spicy dishes!

Call ahead to schedule your dinner and have an experience you’ll never forget. Once you get beyond what some perceive as bluntness or rudeness, you’ll discover an independent, loving, creative woman whose passion for life comes through in the dishes served.

I’m still in shock of how we were treated by the owner. We ended up leaving her restaurant when her comments became too absurdly uncomfortable. We should have known better when we walked in with an empty restaurant when other restaurants we passed by were quite packed. How she behaved was not okay and can not be justified by any means. Nobody should be treated like that, despite whether you are a customer. I guess you can try her food if you don’t mind being immersed in rudeness and madness. I won’t go back and I can’t recommend this place to anyone. I highly recommend to stay away from this place, just as the owner suggested to us.

Such a cute little place for lunch! The Bi Bim Bahp was so delicious, lots of vegetables and the gochujang on the rice was such a nice touch! The beef was tender and seasoned perfectly. The owner is SO sweet and is very interactive with the customers! Highly reccomend if you’re looking for a cute spot for some great conversation!!

I was having an awful day when I wandered in. The decorations and lighting were charming and welcoming. The chef made excellent suggestions, and hummed while she worked. It was like staying home sick with your mother or your favorite aunt. I ordered the Oriental Chicken Soba and even though I had never had it before, it was exactly what I needed in that moment. I needed some comfort food and it was right on time. I highly recommend.

One of the best dining experiences of my life. The food was incredible and Suzie made us feel like she genuinely cared about our experience and clearly cares about her food.

Brace yourself for encountering the meanest old woman you ever did meet when you walk through that door. When we first walked in we just figured, maybe she was flustered and in the middle of something. But no, she was nasty the entire time we were there. I wish we had left after being seated, but my partner really wanted to try the food. So we held out. The food was mediocre.Did not enjoy this place one bit.

It was a rainy day and me and my daughter stepped into Suzie's Soba for a warm late lunch. Our umbrella was dripping so I politely asked an elderly lady (was it Suzie?) where I could put our umbrella and she said just at the door. So, I placed the umbrella standing by the door and she came and yelled at us "MOVE!", as she wanted the umbrella an inch from where I had it standing. She yelled at us so loud that my daughter almost jumped out of her skin. We should've walked out of there at that point and whatever possessed us to go inside and continue patronizing this restaurant is a bit of a mystery to me. In other words, we had a bad time and felt we had to rush ordering because we couldn't ask too many questions, in fear of being yelled at again. The lady had mood swings all throughout the meal, sometimes saying nice and sometimes just being cut and dry and just unpleasant. 2 stars for the high quality of the rice green tea. We both had chicken soba and a fried shumai appetizer and were just not enjoying anything because of the dire mood we were in. This is not a cheap place, $20 for one noodle dish and I would think that one should at least offer a pleasant experience, if at all. Another review was correct - "not for the faint of heart". Unfortunately, I don't see why I would have to deal with rudeness if i was the customer, irregardless. Never again, we will take our business elsewhere.

Just so much character and fun! Make sure you call before going or else you may be turned away. We went at 6 and there was nobody else there, and we were treated to first class sass and great service. The food was also really nice, but a little pricey. We ordered the donburi, beef shabu shabu, and chicken pad Thai. All dishes were seasoned well (shabu was slightly too salty) but really complex and nice. Will definitely be back.

Eating at Suzie’s feels like eating at home. I can’t believe I’ve wasted time living in Hampden without visiting this place. Not only is the food amazing, but Suzie treats you like family. She chats with you, explains how to eat her food, and is clearly very proud of her cooking skills. I can’t wait to go back, explore more of the menu, and feel cozy in her space!

This place looks nice but the customer service was awful. I visited with a friend for dinner and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The lady that served us was rude, rushed us with our order, aggressively and loudly placed our items down on the table, and made our dumplings in the microwave where four dumplings cost $9. She also yelled at her vegetable delivery guy on the phone halfway through our meal very loudly telling him she's going to kill him and that something was wrong with him because he was late with a delivery. Then she tried to make up for the awkward environment by making off handed jokes, which made me cringe. Food was okay not great, Pad Thai is only slightly spicy due to jalapenos that are added. I won't be coming here again, we were rushing to leave because the entire encounter was so awkward and uncomfortable.
