Had a nice lunch two days ago after not being back for quite a while during the Covid pandemic. I would say the food is still good as before and the price is also very reasonable, especially their preselected lunch specials. Definitely will be back again.

Wonderful/interesting food, generous portions, bargain prices, friendly service. We arrived early so wasn't crowded, had opportunity to chat with young waiter about the place and cuisine. Highly recommended -- and I can't understand the bad reviews -- sounds like different place from where we ate!

We enjoyed the Red Fruit punch drink, plov, lamb kabob (chicken pictures looked good too), manti, lagman. Delicious Delicious Delicious! Cool waiter; understood that we were from out of town and on a tour. Thank you Yelpers for recommending this place.

kind of tastes like italian food. its pretty bland, but you will burp it up later. its not a great place, probably wont try again just based on the food and the menu wasn't very descriptive. they were out of somethings I was trying to order. service was okay. they dont have any alcoholic drinks.

So good. Sometimes slow service but the food is incredible especially the Logman, potatoes, chicken kabob, and plav!

Was taken here by my friend. And this is by far one of the best restaurants that I have been to in Gaithersburg! Highly recommend. The chef, Aziza, is amazing friendly and one of a kind!

The best ethnic food in and around DC seems to be in strip malls, and Silk Road confirms it. I've never been to Uzbekistan but our family has been planning a trip there ever since we've had Plov. With food that good how can you not go?

Great service; good food. Very friendly and accommodating. The decor could use some updating.

Traditional Uzbekistan decor with sophisticated ambient music in the background. Camel napkin holder. It was pretty quiet. The prices were normal. The food was great except the desserts. The service was minimal, lack of attentiveness, unprofessional by American standards. No announcement of each dish as they were brought to the table. You were expected to know. The entree plates weren't removed before serving desserts. No clean plates offered either for dessert. We ordered: 2*Beef tongue: sounded exotic, but tasted plain without horse radish. I don't recommend this. 5*Samsa: seemed homemade, very fresh and good. The picture on the menu was misleading. It made me think there were 5 samsa in the order, but actually there was only one. 5*Borsh: homemade and authentic. Dill enhanced the flavor. 5*Kebab platter: generous portion and variety of food. All the meats were tender and tasty. Super good. 5*PloV: the Al dente rice was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the texture. Very good dish, but there wasn't much meat. 5*Dumgaza: we all agreed it was the best oxtail we ever had. It was so tender that the meat practically fell off the bones. It was delicious. The portion wasn't big. There were only 4 or 5 pieces of oxtail. Potatoes also tasted very good. Encouraged by the delicious food, we ordered some desserts. Unfortunately desserts couldn't measure up. 3.5*Medovik: layered cake with gram crackers crumbs on top. Interesting but not over the top. 2*Napoleon: there's no comparison with French Napoleons. I was disappointed and wouldn't order it again. 3*Baklava: per normal

Not good at all. The meats taste weird and the French fries was the only decent thing but then boom a damn hair in the fries. Oh and the service awful. I was there with my 2 year old and it took our server like 10 minutes to find a high chair. He didn't say hello, all he said is what do you want after walking away once given me the high chair. At one point I wanted to leave but my little one was hungry. Service awful, my little one ate fries until I stopped her because of the disgusting hair, oh and the ginger ale was the other decent item. Never again!

I would like to update my review as I think it's unfair to leave them with a review I wrote 8 years ago, as a much younger and less experienced consumer. We decided to give the restaurant another shot and we were pleased with the meal overall. We ordered the Plov, Samsa, Manti, Kutabi, Chahohbili, and the Uzbek Tandoor bread. The Plov was sweet, rich and savory all at the same time. I am personally not a huge fan of sweet/savory, but I found this to be pretty good. My only complaint would be the meat was a bit overdone and not as tender as I'd hoped. The Samsa was delicious! I was a bit upset I didn't order another. The Manti was probably my favorite thing haha definitely a must. We got the fried ones which had a nice crispy outer texture that complimented the filling perfectly. The Kutabi (veg) was definitely tasty, though I do wonder if the meat one would have been a better choice. The Chahohbili tasted great. I did find it to be a bit overwhelming flavor wise, but I'm used to spicy curries so having the powerful flavor without the spiciness was the reason I found it to be a bit much. We ate it with the bread. I would like to say that overall, I think this restaurant is great and I would definitely consider coming back for more Uzbek food. I'm also not an expert and I do not know what authentic Uzbek food tastes like, but if I were to guess, this is definitely authentic!

Where should I start with this review? Let me first tell you how excited I was for finding a full Halal Uzbeki restaurant. I have been excited to try Uzbeki plov and kabobs for a very long time. After a very long day of being out and enjoying the beautiful weather, we decided to give this place a try. First impression and customer service is the biggest deal for me it will either make it or break it. When we first walked in and waited by the door for about 2/3 minutes. We were asked how many people and to wait for the table to be cleaned. There was no Hi or how are you! We were seated at the table, server came - without introducing themself, asking how we are or anything starting conversation. We were asked what do we want? After asking some questions about items on the menu. We ordered the following: Appetizers: - Samsa - Lagman Soup - Tandoori Naan Entrees: - Shish Kabob Platter - Plov Drinks: - 2 waters - Coke This is where it got worse with service and the disappointment started. Our Lagman and Tandoori Naan arrived, just started to enjoy the Lagman and Naan, the Plov arrived. We looked confused and asked the server for our drinks and Samsa (it's appetizer after all) met to be eaten before main entrees arrive. We told the server we are missing the drinks and Samsa. Drinks arrived after about 5-6 minutes of us asking for it. Next, the Shish Kabobs arrived, yet still no Samsa. Asked the server again and he was gone. After about half way through the main entrees our Appetizer Samsa arrived. At this point we were already full, what is the point now? No apology from the server for bringing the appetizer late, the drinks late, the food coming out one by one. Review of the food: The kabobs were very delicious - perfect seasoning, cooked to perfection. The Plov needed to me mixed but was soaked in Oil - only 2 small pieces of meat on top. The Shish Kabob came with veggies and white rice. The white rice had no flavor - just boiled in water and put on a plate. The Lagman Soup mixed with veggies, pasta and a few pieces of meat. The soup was made to perfection, only wish it had more meat. The naan was freshly cooked, having it with butter, soup and kabobs was perfect. The Samsa was very oily, taste was okay. The meat inside the Samsa had no flavor. Overall the food was okay, enjoyed the kabobs a lot. Everything else was not to what I thought it would be. The service needs a lot of improvement and I hope management looks at training their employees to be more friendly and courteous to their customers. During the whole time no one came to check how everything was, no one asked if we needed anything else. I would be okay if the restaurant was busy, but 4 servers with just a few tables they should be able to serve better and provide better customer service. I will give them 2 stars and that is because of the some food items being good.

UPDATE!!! I have to minus a star. The owner called and literally harassed us about this review. Excuse me? I explained pretty well in my review about how awful of a job you guys did. Harassing us will not make me removed my review. If I could give 0 stars I would. Also, it wasn't an apology phone call. Straight up said why you give us this review. No sir, I'm not talking to you in that tone.
