I HAVE EATEN HERE RETURNED ATLEAST 20+ TIMES, AND BROUGHT WITH ME 10 FRIENDS ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE STAFF WELCOME ME WITH A SMILE AND ASK ME HOW IVE BEEN EVEY SINGLE TIME, AND DIFFERENT STAFF TOO! THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN GAITHERSBURG AREA. THE BOWL IS UNBEATABLE. I LOVE THE BUTTER CHICKEN, THE GARLIC NAAN, BIRIYANI. THE BOWL IS AMAZING, SO MUCH FOOD, BUT THE REST OF THE MENU IS ALSO SO AUTHENTIC. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SPICE LIFE. HIDDEN GEM. THEY NEED TO START AN INSTAGRAM. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED COMING HERE. (This bowl is about 2x as heavy as a chipotle bowl)

It was indeed a great experience overall. Literally made my day and will visit again for sure. I tried a vegetarian bowl with my wife and The lemon rice, chana masala, butter naan, and onion kulcha were amazing. Gulab Jamuns were awesome (3 pieces in one plate). It has South Indian options too like Dosa and Uthappam. Will definitely try something else later.Vegetarian options: The lemon rice, chana masala, butter naan, and onion kulcha were amazing . Will definitely try something else.

Went an hour before they closed. It was great, it is a nice restaurant, convenient location. Staff welcomed me naturally and with care. They have vegetarian options, i chose sheesh kebab with basmati rice, it was tasty and spicy which i loved. It was good enough for 2 people . The location is clean and there are enough space to sit. It was some of the best Indian food i had in my life. Price was a bit steep but its the location so i understand, i wish healthy food was more affordable

I have asked (at least the past 3 times) to make it "mild" since I have health issues and cannot eat spicy food. They do not care. They say the do but they still send you the food super spicy. Their excuse is "oh it is spicy for you" but I know spicy food and they send it very spicy. This happened again for the third time. Why ask if I want the food "mildly spicy or medium or very spicy" if you are going to do whatever you want? Today I called them before ordering and ask them to please send me the lentil dish mild and they just do not care, it was very spicy. Please do not pretend to care if you don't. Words come and go but actions are what matters. We used to get more than $100 orders but we order less and less and now I will never get your food!!!

I am very regular customer and almost every week I eat from spice life due to good taste but they keep playing with people safety. This is second time where I found safety issue. First time I got iron pin and this time I am seeing glass in food.Safety is more important than anything else. This is hazardous as good restaurant and not giving attention for safety.

Let me just start by saying that we love the food here, it's excellent. My disappointment comes from the way the staff paid NO attention to the customers coming in waiting for their orders. There is no organization, nobody offered to check if our order was ready while standing there looking like idiots, and they continued taking customers there and then which I understand. I'm in the restaurant business myself, therefore I typically wait until a staff member acknowledges me as opposed to barging in and cutting lines in order to get the order which just comes off as rude from staff perspective. However.... if there are people coming from the OPPOSITE direction in order to simply pick up their food... I know we would much appreciate someone actually acknowledging our existence there. I waited for 15-20 minutes while others were ordering and it was left to me to ask for my name while the bag had been sitting there for just as long. Please pay closer attention to ALL CUSTOMERS, not just the ones ordering directly there.

Located in Downtown Crown, Theres side parking and nearby garages. The restaurant offers take out and carry out options. However their layout for their food, is chipotle style, pick your choices etc. They have the classic Indian dishes; butter chicken, tandori, and chicken tikka. I love love Indian food, and around this area, I have yet to find that one, that will make my tummy happy. Employees are ok, I wouldnt say friendly, kinda like basic customer service. You can pick your 3 and your base or you can order an entree. I decided on picking 3 options, just to sample a few, so I can have an idea. You also get a side of some Naan. I love rice, so I did get a generous portion of Basmati Rice too. The restaurant is ok, They have indoor seating, and tvs all around playing Bollywood music videos or Bollywood novelas. They offer tap water, which is a plus. The moment of truth, One thing about Chipotle style that Im not keen on, is the food tends to sit longer under warming trays then if you were to get an cook to order entree. Same goes for rice. I had butter chicken, Its my favorite Indian dish, however I didnt get to enjoy as much, because my chicken wasnt hot, more so lukewarm, and not tender. It lack flavor. I missed the seasonings that I am used to. The other items I chose were ok, and I should have bypassed their version of pico dressing. As for the rice :( major sad face, I can tell it was sitting for some time, and that also put a damper on my dish. I was sad when I found out that they dont make Ras Malai. Its a delicious dessert that cools your palate with deliciousness. Their desserts are limited here. Insert another sad face emoji. I dont recommend their chipotle style (buffet) option. I suggest ordering an entree instead. Ill give this place another try and give an update of when that happens. I love me some tandoori chicken.

Final had a chance to try this place. Heard the chicken tikka masala was really good so I had to try it, I ordered to go. Ordered the chicken tikka masala mild with garlic naan and onions/peppers on the side! This place is very good and gives a great amount of food! Recommend if you are craving good Indian food.

Amazing food, but the spice bowl deal is not friendly for vegetarians. Every time we’ve gone, it has been a major problem to replace the chicken with extra vegetables. If you ask for extra and explain you aren’t getting meat, they add .25 ounces of each item at a time and don’t seem to want to accommodate.

Bunch of thieves. I asked whether they had tap water, guy kept repeating bottled water. So I purchased, and as I sat down saw many people with tap water. Fail #1. Fortunately my wife looked at receipt...we ordered two lamb Biryanis but on receipt shows vindaloo. I go back to cashier he says no you said vindaloo. Fail # 2. Never eating here again and unless you speak Hindi don't bother eating here.

I had the salmon tikka masala - I got medium but I wish I had ordered it spicy. Regardless, it was delicious

Here is huge choice of traditional Indian dishes. We ordered chicken tikka masala, chutney, butter naan bread. Good option here is to make your own bowl. Prices are good. Food is okay, not the best, but definitely not bad.

Miss living in the Rio area so much that I took a friend there last week just so they could try Spicelife and they loved it as much as I do and miss living across the street. Amazing food and service! All of the dishes are phenomenal!
