We went on the last day of opening of the year and had crabs, cream of crab soup, crab legs, and shrimp. Crabs in December were amazing the best I've had that late in season. You can complete the meal without the hot fudge sundae to top off the experience.

Restaurant was busy and we waited a few minutes but not to long. Able to sit inside in the a/c while waiting. Food was excellent and get plenty to eat. Lots of parking and right on highway so easy to find.Server was nice but needed to come back more often for drink refills and see if needed anything. Cant wait to go back again when visiting the area. Lobster, corn and sweet potato wedges were great.

The most hearty and delish cream of crab ever!! There were two of us and we each got a cup and we shared a basket of fried shrimp and crinkle cut fries (they were gracious enough to offer to butterfly the shrimp too, we took them up on that!) It was surprising just how filling it all was!! That cream of crab.... Talk about delish & it's totally packed with crab... *Sigh* I could eat THAT forever!!! What a delight!!!!

We stopped in for dinner, started off with a crab dip in a bread bowl, it was loaded with chunks of crab, very tasty. I had the fried oyster platter, there were at least 25 oysters fried perfectly, my wife had the crab cake platter, the cakes were full of crab with very little filer. There was plenty of everything, and everything was great. The waitress we had was very friendly, and spoke with everyone, she seemed to know all the locals. Good place to dine, not fancy, but plenty of good food.

Great service and food. We ordered Maryland style crab, oysters and a few other things. We had a great time and we’re not rushed to eat and get out which was good since we were new at cracking into the crab. Our server helped us get started with that.

This establishment has a decent variety of food. Crabs are good. However I have never felt like it was a welcoming or delightful atmosphere. It's rather cold and distant. Many years I have gone here and they make me feel like they are doing me a favor by being there. No real friendly customer service.

Food was decent, but it ended up not being worth it. Had to wait 50 minutes from ordering until I got my food. People came in after me, ordered 10-15 minutes after I did and got their food before me. I was pretty well left in the dark until the food came. Server didn't really check in on me, and didn't seem to care about my experience.

I went to Captain Leonard’s with some family and had the biggest, yummiest crab cake I’ve ever had. It came on a soft buttered bun but the cake was delicious by itself. The beer was nice and cold and the service was great. All in all a great experience. If you’re ever in southern Maryland, check this place out.

Best place to eat crabs overall in St. Mary’s County! Clean relaxing comfortable atmosphere. No pressure to leave no matter how busy they get.Their fried shrimp and homemade potato salad are to die for.The staff and owners really care about you and their cooking shows it.

Seems like it might be hit or miss. The crabs are probably on point a lot of people were inside eating dozens of crabs. We got some fried stuff to go and most was good but the fish and chips was not. Hard, dry, no flavor.

Don't let the outside fool you! This was my first visit. The service was great, the food was very good, and the crabs were excellent. I have one suggestion: create a more defined parking lot - it was a little confusing determining where you should park except for the spots nearest the building.
