Starting with the slight negatives, 1) there was a bit of a wait, even thought we were there pretty early on a Saturday, and 2) the dining room was very loud - it was sometimes hard for us to hear each other right across the table. The positives: 1) the service was friendly and very prompt, and 2) the food was excellent - I had the oyster stew (probably the best I've ever had) and a blackened haddock sandwich that was superb, and 3) the beer on tap was nice and cold!

Do not let the good food fool you! (In my book being a kind person is more important.) I could not believe that I witnessed a server yelling and cussing at a hostess. Not only is that absurd but she could care less that there were customers around. Bad business. We will not return and will tell our friends the same!

We just had the best tasting, fat fall crabs, from the Foxy Fish this evening. We ate outside and the server was outstanding and the highway was not distracting from the evening. I would highly recommend the Foxy Fish for crabs or one of their other fresh hometyle seafood dishes.

Stopped going because of poor service. They just don't seem to have enough staff, even posting a notice saying such. Too bad because the food is very good and prices are decent.

Went there for the First/Last time 8/4/2022. got there about 5;45, seated in the back room, temp. was 76 degrees, no Fans (i know the temp because we were seated next to the thermostat. order our food. (Fried Fish and Steamed Shrimp) Ready to Leave at 6:40 (STILL NO FOOD or updates from server). Finally food shows up. Server says that they are short handed.. (SO that just became my problem) Steamed shrimp was cold, onion rings over cooked, fish was under cooked. Manager came over asked how everything was. so i told them, then Owner/manager came over, gave me a list of why This became my problem, (short staffed/ she had been at work since 6;00 am and wont get off until10;00 pm. bla bla bla.. We spent $120.00 of hard earned money. even if the food was good, small portions and over priced.. will not go back...

Best fish tacos I’ve ever had. I had mine with grilled haddock and the fish was light and flaky - perfectly matched with lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese. All in perfect proportion. Service was very good - she was prompt, efficient and friendly. My husband and son had the fisherman’s platter and they gave it 4 thumbs up. So bottom line - highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants good food and service.

After waiting for 30 mins for a table (this is a very popular restaurant) we were seated and our waitress came over immediately to get our drink order. We order our food - I had the fish tacos with grilled haddock. Wow! They were outstanding. Fish was done perfectly as were the dinners for my husband & son who had the seafood platter. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

The servers were super welcoming and friendly. The food was o.k., but not as flavorful as I had hoped. We splurged on the crab truffles but they were not very spicy and the portion size was small. The side salad was served with cheese which went against my intent of having a healthy option. The fried crab cakes were o.k., but I would not order them again. The shrimp were really big and the hush puppies were great.
We all had seafood! The Scallop basket was large and well cooked. My fried shrimp were perfect and abundant. The fish tacos were also good. Sides were great. Priced reasonably!

If you want a good meal, go to the Foxy Fish. Sometimes they are a little packed, but we always get seated with-in about 10 minutes or so. If you don't mind eating at the bar, slide through the side door. Never had a bad experience or meal and during the season the crabs are the best around. The owner prides herself on the quality of the crabs selected for her customers.

Some of the best Seafood around. Clean, good seating, friendly staff. Everything we had was super. Good ice tea, cream of crab soup, shrimp poor boy and onion rings. Husband had a large salad and it was excellent. Was not disappointed in any of the food. Cost about $41 for 2 + tip. Quality comes at a price which we don't mind paying if the food is good. Highly recommend. Better than many seafood restaurants I've been to in the past. A hidden jem in Mechanicsville MD.
