I saw the pits smoking away in the parking lot and knew I found something good! Awesome BBQ, had the brisket sandwich and it was the best brisket I've ever had and I've tried a lot! I also smoke my own meats at home and this puts mine to shame. Wife had the grilled chicken and said it was delicious, nice char on the outside and juicy on the inside. Oakland is a very small town and this place is a gem! Highly recommend.

This place was awesome. Highly recommend. The brisket was soft and tender. The chicken was so juicy and had an amazing rub on it. If you're not from here or live here, this is the place to go.

Best BBQ in town and run by Dave and Tracey - two of the best people you will ever meet. The chicken is slow grilled right in front of the store and has been a staple around town for years. Daily specials are always good. Excellent value.

We were going for pizza when we saw the sign for Sweitzer's BBQ. Thankfully we turned around and went back. We each enjoyed a brisket sandwich and shared a portion of coke slaw and baked BBQ beans. Some of the BEST BBQ brisket we've had. Im sure we'll enjoy another meal the week we stay at Deep Creek Lake. Be sure you check this out. They also do carryout. 240-321-9520. They donate, chicken, ribs, etc.

Wanted to get take out but was a bit pricy. I wass told $30 for a full rack of ribs which is NOT even a menu item. A rack at Applebee's is $21.00 and at Chili's it's only $21.00. I got a pulled pork BBQ sandwich -- 2 SMALL sides and it was $11. Small portions, not much flavor and dry. Very disappointed. But this is a tourist trap area. Will definitely do my own next time.

Best BBQ in the county that I've had by far. We have tried the other places that have bbq but none has had the taste and for a affordable price like this place does. Along with a polite and quick customer service. Who could ever ask for more? I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good meal to take home for yourself or for the family..Also just had their steak dinner and crab cakes and it is beyond the best I've ever had. This place keeps going above and beyond my expectations and I watch a lot of cooking stuff and love to cook myself so I like to think of myself as a novice critique :) Like the below review said I would provide pictures of said amazing food but we all ate it to fast to visually appreciate it :)

Went here to grab lunch while on vacation and we completely get what all the hype was about! We arrived and the guys were outside working the grills, so we asked them what was best to get. Hands down the chicken! It had a nice smokiness and was super flavorful and moist. It was great dipped in the bbq sauce. We also ordered the pulled pork which was quite good, but not as good as the chicken. The sides we had were all pretty standard, but still tasty. We actually ended up going back multiple times while on vacation. Definitely worth a stop.

Really good BBQ. No bells and whistles with this place. Just a simple drive up or walk in. But the food is very good. A tad pricey but you get what you pay for in serving size and quality. The chicken is the best in my opinion. The other stuff is good too, but my go to is the chicken. Menu changes daily
