Great ice cream, terrific value but the elderly lady serving yelled at my wife for eating inside (prohibited in this shop). Rudest, grumpiest person I’ve ever come across serving ice cream. However, I will go back because it’s great ice cream.

A fantastic neighborhood treasure.If you're passing through Shatlrpsburg and looking for a sweet treat, don't sleep on Nutters.Heaping scoops, sundaes, and of course malted milk shakes.Do remember though it is a CASH ONLY establishment.There are nearby ATMs.

Going to Nutter's is like taking a step back in time. The staff is very friendly and heavy handed on the scoops! This is the best value ice cream in the area. I highly recommend always stopping in for a scoop or two after hiking the near by Appalachian trail, Washington monument, or after exploring the nearby Crystal Grottoes Caverns. Don't forget to BRING CASH as this is a cash only operation! (tip, there is an ATM across the street)Parking: Parking is available on the street or you can go to the municipal lot right across from Nutter's.

I've been coming to Nutters over many years, every time I visit the area, because it is the best bang for your buck. I rave about the ice cream place to all my friends back in CA. It has been one of my favorites. You get a ton of ice cream, it's delicious and it's a great value. However, I've noticed the customer service has become awful. The ladies working were beyond rude to me. I asked for a sample and she practically yelled at me "We don't do samples!" Well, they used to a few years ago, so how was I to know. They didn't appreciate at all that I was there. It was like they wanted me to get out of the store. When I was looking at the flavors, the lady kept pushing me to order asking if I am ready and it was clear I wasn't and there was no one else in the store. On both occasions when I went this week, the different people working never said thank you or hello. They were unpleasant to be around. We even left a tip for the older lady who was so rude, and she didn't even acknowledge the tip or say thank you or goodbye when we left the store. She was just constantly annoyed and there wasn't anyone else in the store except us. So rude. If the price weren't so good, I'd never come back because the staff was so mean to us. It's sad because I have been a loyal and loving customer for so many years. I wish I could have a joyful time there again.

We came in with a crowd of 9 (mostly kids) and they didn't bat an eye. They were super friendly and got everyone sorted out quickly. I highly recommend the Peppermint Stick and the Rainbow was equally recommended by the kids.
